Hi Dave I have been watching your videos since before I got my CDL in November and I am currently working do Schenider. My fist week driving by myself I went to that Homedepot distribution center about six times so I thought it was cool to see you post a video of the same location. I enjoy your videos keep up the good work!

RWD, found you on youtube when you're video was put out on orientation with CFI. You have really made progress. I posted a comment 8 months ago that I wasn't getting the miles that was promised at CFI and stayed a few months more giving them a chance. Ended up leaving. Joined up with Koch Transportation for better pay. Home everyday running local and still make better miles than CFI. Not a mega carrier so no micro managing. Miss the open road. Thought about returning to CRETE since they raised the pay to .54 cpm and does have good miles as a fact. Stay safe

The yard dogs are always in the truckers' way. One more thing. I always back in similar to that Dave. I think Im dam good. It was nothing wrong with that back up even if you had a proper set up and still backed up that way.

Love your videos man .that empty trailer hunting sounds like a hassle . Jumping in and out of your truck to check if it's empty . I been with schneider for a couple years. We have a feature on our tablet that shows us a list of empty trailer numbers and even a map of the yard with the location of each empty trailer. It's pretty cool .
The company that I was with kept better track of their trailers, we were assigned a trailer.
None of this 'go find an empty'.......

Dave always check with the yard driver b4 you leave. They may have a trailer in the door they have to pull out. I’ve gotten lucky b4 by doing that .

i drive a diesel pickup truck and i think its hard to navigate in because its kinda big. watching your videos makes me realize that my vehicle isnt actually that big
dont feel bad with the backing jobs I started three years ago been doing intermodal rail to rail cranes take my load on and off I back the truck when I go home to park I still have hard time parking to this day, maybe I will see you in Joliet Illinois one day

When are you looking for a trailer that's some in places it's better to get out and look inside. There is some in places like that use our trailer for storage I've had them with the back door open and stuff in the front of the trailer they using it for storage

Ya I hate having to look for a empty such a pain some time. In am on a load right now where we went to two different places and could not pick one up. Ended up bobtailingto the shipper witch was only 7 miles away from where we were.

Total Transportation of Mississippi is a good company. They must have changed things after you looked into them when I worked for them back in 2017 they allowed students to get on with a trainer. They are under the umbrella of US Xpress

As yard driver myself. Even i or should I say we. Have those moments or days. That feels like you can’t hit your spot to save your life. For me it’s the few docks that have to be blind sided or when outside drivers are parked in the way and won’t move.

Even at home I'll watch RWD, and I even drive a truck myself 🤣, but I pull a 53foot flatbed and I never have to drop and find an empty, but I do know the struggle of finding an empty
Most companies/ consignee have a department "TRAFFIC" that will let you know if there's an empty trailer on the yard, empty in a door, or where to get an empty.. Sometimes they will reserve it for you if you are on the yard.. It will save you a lot of time driving around.. Yard jockeys can give you up to the minute info.. There is always a lag in receiving info.. Trailer unloaded/ MT Trailer put on yard/ yard jockey reports trailer & slot to traffic/ Traffic reports trailer availability to trucking company.. With good communication, many times you can get a trailer directly from a dock.. With time, you will gain contacts at companies that will make this easier for you.. Good luck..
