I think they're staying with the cosmic fantasy, but doing it through the lens of people and older fantasy stuff, like what we've seen of the Arathi in TWW.
That's what made Battle for Azeroth so exciting. Until it went right back into a cosmic space opera again.
In vanilla wow, the three last raid end bosses were literally an elemental lord from another plane of existence, a cosmic horror entity that was sent across space to infect the planet and a necromancer resurrected by arcane magic, who was indirectly 50/50 working for the burning legion through an orc shaman from another planet who was infused with power by a demon from yet another planet... WoW was never simple fantasy. Sick and tired of people pretending otherwise
No mention but I think my favorite thing coming tomorrow is no Renown requirement for Campaign quests.

The single coolest part about the new zone is that the vast majority of the plants are angled at the light coming from the crystal, meaning it is giving off some sort of energy or sun like life force to the plants growing below which mimics how plants grow in real life almost reaching close and closer to the sunlight.
Blizz is cooking. The dungeons got the sauce. And the expansion is dripping with riz

The disaster in bug-finding that was S4 and Cata prepatch has almost NOTHING to do with the amount of content they're pushing. It has EVERYTHING to do with the fact that Blizzard gutted and then LOST most of their QA and have been unable to fill it because they're offering $17 an hour for a job that requires AT LEAST hybrid work in one of the most expensive places to live in SoCal.
Sounds like they need to leave California because $17 a hour most other places besides New York and south Florida is pretty good

@@lunawilliams8694 I mean...I was a QA for a FinTech company for many years. It's extremely draining and frustrating, so I quit because the stress and hours just weren't worth it. I was making $65,000/year and that is considered low end pay. $17/hr puts you at only about $32,000/year. I live in a LCOL state and I can get a $15/hr cashier job at Target. If a company was trying to pay me to perform as a QA for $2 more than what I could make as a Target cashier, I'd tell them to shove it and go find a job at one of the many companies who are paying the fair market value for QA work. Median salary for QA (Quality Analyst or Engineer, depending on what the company wants to call it) is about $80,000.
So yeah..$17/hr COULD be considered good. But the type of work and demand that comes from the job, $17/hr is a freaking slap in the face.

Just let me know when I can bring my warband into follower dungeons instead of the shitty NPCs. And they get loot and xp.
some of the NPCs are pleasantly capable "players" but yes I'd still love to be able to tag my warband into the follower slots.
Feels like having a small team deal with SOD and classic Cata was silly by Blizzard. Just up the classic dev team, as it is clearly popular.

Just got back into game, idk if it's been brought up. But the old gods that get in ur head during the time travel quests in shifting sands MSQ . Mention a song and prayer that calls to them and all. That was set way before the titans showed up.
For the longest time I thought this crystal thing in the sky was the tip of the sword in Silithus.......

As a Mage since I was a beta tester in 2003, I liked the complexity and skill based nature of playing arcane well.
My favourite random Cataclysm Classic bug so far: while fighting Lady Deathwhisper in Icecrown Citadel, upon her mind control on me fading, I was teleported to the Wetlands.
I do like the cinematic is just people talking, as you said. Can tell stories better if every scene is not necessarily insane
the arathi thing is so good. Set up mysteries and don't explain them in the next quest. Make people wonder and excited

brother that is very close to the armor the draenei concept art was showing in like 2005, as well as matching the draenei’s tribal aesthetic in places like nagrand and terokkar forest. it’s the most heritage possible!

As a demo main... fewer demon bolts means fewer demons out at once which means less damage (each demon out = +2% damage of all demons). Also, with how often mechanics in dungeons and raids want us to move... I have two things I can cast whilst doing so... my curses or demon bolt. So wtf? I guess I have to go back to affliction then? :(
I will really miss getting up to thirty demons at once with this. I already do not use nether portal, so I hardly care about that one, but demon bolt rate is rather important to maintaining imps and damage.
My raid group is struggling to find motivation to play this season.
We're blasting through heroic in one night and not sure what are we supposed to be doing next, cause we don't have a 20ppl team.
Not everyone is up for Pandaria timerunning, and not everyone wants to pug mythic progress. It just feels weird, sadly

The Cata "known issues" list honestly looks like an April fool's list, but sadly it was real.

Ez fix for NetherPortal for Warlock, remove GWD and either make it passive for Locks or put it as a capstone in the class tree. Then redesign NP to be a passive choice node next to RoT where GWD was. So basicly if u choose NP when u summon ur Tyrant the portal he comes thru stays open and it summons more imps/demons per ss spent, and when Tyrant ends a Pitlord comes out BOOM fixed.
*The dark heart cinematic shows that they are listening. I’m hoping that future expansions will have more personal dialogue and less exposition*
I like how almost everyone I heard talk about this. Immediately jumps all over the idea of Arathi being from "somewhere else" on the planet. And not even acknowledge the possibility that they were Time-Yeeted X Thousand years into the future to 15 years before now.
It will be cool if all of that is Foreshadowing for an Arathi Empire 2.0 somewhere else. But I at least, wont be surprised or disappointed if it turns out to be Time-Travel instead.

I wish I could share the hype about the upcoming addOn. However I will really just wait and see. They need to deliver the content. I want a great start, I want a more timely Patch.1 and I want things to be consistent. Maybe then I might join the AddOn later on. But without that happening, I don't see myself coming back.

Entire Arathi Empire that splintered 1000years ago in to Kingdoms is still aroud on the other side of the globe and can just send of an armada for war and we never even heard about them plus they are half elfs yea that concept has so many plot holes its astounding

Demo lock was busted for far too long, an expansion for warlock in general being on the side lines would do the "Efs" pretty good.
Something that couldn’t be mentioned here: youve got some new short story hinting at Silvermoon becoming a neutral zone in Midnight (just like the night elf’s) since not only is the Lord Commander of the alliance is there but also his and Alleria’s son, a Silver Hand Paladin just straight up lives in Silvermoon now. No explanation, he just lives there and the book was basically the Windrunners working through some family angst and subjecting Silvermoon to the mellow drama like it’s tuesday and not weird at all that these people are there.
Oh what fun that expansions gonna be. I love World of Alliancecratt!

Look, you lost that battle the moment the Alliance got Void Elf customisations, let alone the High Elf ones. Even on a peak RP server, Silvermoon is dead compared to it's WOD / Legion days.
It needs a remake and you might as well let everyone in these days.

Firstly, the High Elves & the Alliance go back in history, to such a degree that they trusted their biggest heroes (and heroine) to travel through a dark portal, giving up the prospect of raising their own son, to save Azeroth. As far as both Silvermoon & Stormwind are concerned, Alleria, Khadgar & Turalyon are historical icons. Secondly, Arator is a son of both their respective cities, making him eligible to become a paladin of the Silver Hand, especially given his father is the current reigning powerhouse of the Alliance. Thirdly, Lor'themar, as cautious as he must be to protect his city, and his people, isn't about to disrespect a Windrunner, especially one of its' former ranger generals who fought to protect their people, and frequently risks her own life to protect Azeroth. He, also, isn't about to disrespect their son and deny him a place within his mother's kingdom, a birthright bestowed to him the moment his parents' consumated their love.
If you come crying into these comment sections expecting sympathy, don't bloody bother. Its clear as daylight that you, and those like you, have no intentions on giving a smidge about the lore, and therefore, have no right to whine about it.

If you don't have friends to do M+ with, this season is the worst of all. It's a pain to find groups or get tank/healer in your own group.
The changes to Demo are scary because the spirit of them is in direct opposition to what players want. The SB talents are lame and boring because SB is lame and boring. I'm so proud of my fellow locks for speaking up, but the issue isn't power: the issue is that we want to summon armies of demons.
Even if all of the current changes get reversed, their goal of making Demo the SB spec will remain. The devs in charge either have to announce they're overhauling the spec and just make it into the shadow spec, or find some way to move the damage from DB into our demons, not a stupid filler spell that everyone hates.
Very clever move by Blizzard to release Cata classic in such a state so people would say fuck this and shift into retail.

I feel like as far as cinematic and NPC’s The legion intro with Varian And maybe some of the stuff with the old warrior bit in BFA were some of the best. overall, though I think blizzard does a really crappy job at storytelling and making use of their main characters. Like they’re really good at coming up with Settings and fantasy worlds but as far as actually fleshing things out narratively, they leave a lot to be desired. Do you have whole expansions, with characters that make an appearance in the beginning and basically do nothing. Or even worse, great characters who become worthless and ineffectual Kind of like Alex was in DF

Cata is great and is so crowded. Some bugs but not falling apart. I wish they would punish UA-camrs that do anything to get hits financially.
I really don’t like the new mythic season. I run heroics and it’s a cake walk and I get zero upgrades, I go mythic0 can find zero groups or form any because no players doing it, and when I do get one it’s so much more difficult cos I need 30 more ivl than heroic gives me. I have to sit and wait weeks to do initial content via the vault
