I believe there is an old post dating years back somewhere talking about why Blizzard did not want to add multiple map pin options to the game. If i remember it correctly it had to do with the possibility of creating automated bot scripts to create pathing so a player did not have to actually pay attention to their game, be it while farming or going from quest to quest. I think it was along those lines but i can be mistaken. The camera option changes and the self highlight additions are superb additions and QoL that i personally have wanted for many years. When it comes to information overload i believe there should be no more than 8 icons showing per page of the spell book and the pages should be made way smaller in order to avoid information overload. Because even a blank space is information to our eyes. And our eyes do process the light from the blank spaces as well in order to try and find what is the relevant information. If I remember correctly, during the War Within Deep Dive panel they mentioned that class specific gear will only be collectable by that specific class. ie Only my Hunter can collect Giantstalker's Gloves for example. Class specific raid gear is probably still locked, but you can collect items your class can't use and view everything you've unlocked for a different class. Also there are class-neutral lookalike pieces for a lot of tier sets that unlock the tier piece appearance for all classes of that armour type, so you will be able to collect some of another class' set.
When questing together, my group of friends always places the old classic target markers over everyone's heads so we can keep up with whos who and where. So any clarification ui changes are awesome imo.
I wish they would add a quest marker for quests that contribute to "side quest" achievements, like in Shadowlands the Sojourner achievements or like the side storylines in WoD (because its hard to tell whats an important sidequest, a generic one, or a garrison one)
It's a very minor thing, but it irks me that you can no longer shortcut to the dungeon journal by clicking on a raid or dungeon icon on the map. Instead it places a map marker.
When the camera goes through stuff like trees or whatever. There should be a silhouette option button that shows your character as well as enemy silhouettes so as a tank you can see exactly where they are without potentially turning your back towards them and getting murdered while u were just adjusting your positioning.
It wasn’t clear if this is the case, but I would like the self outline option to be camera dependent. Meaning that in normal situations where I’m just moving through the environment with nothing obstructing my line of sight between the camera and my character, the outline goes away. Instead it would only appear if there was some kind of obstruction, be it a cluster of enemies, characters, or in game options, or if say I have the camera zoomed out a bit and there’s a tree halfway between the camera and my character, then I would see my outline through the tree and know exactly where I am. This is a welcome addition but it seems like it’s either on all the time or off, in which case I’ll likely leave it off.

So every time I log into Valdrakken I have one or two NPCs shouting at me to do this thing or that thing, which I don't want to do.
They won’t pop up on your alts anymore. That’s what the warband competed quests toggle on the map is. If you want to replay the quests on an alt, you’ll need to pick them up from the quest giver.
Bellular, having seen a few of your TWW videos, I'm curious about something. In your opinion, is the game going to be worth "returning to" for a casual player that have no interest in M+ or raiding (beyond LFR) or will it be another 2-3 weeks experience and then quit until TWW-2 ? Are the QOL changes good enough to make alt-play feel worthwhile ? The last time I felt this game had real longevity was in Legion, leveling up Artifact weapons to see how they changed how classes played, trying out different specs and such.
This is cool - now make it so that trivial things like trees an ceilings don't occlude vision. It's so annoying when some tapestry on the wall or ceiling prevents you from seeing the floor.
They should not touch old icons imo. They are legacy at this point and seeing them the way they used to be is heartwarming for a wow veteran. If anything, they could fix them a lil bit to make borders better and stuff, but please do not redraw them.
Is it me, but I been playing SOD all the time and I stepped over to panda mix and it seems like pressing skill buttons are so unresponsive. Takes several times for the buttons to cast spells or skill?
The icon above my character, is that only visible to me, or to everyone? Because if it is visible to everyone, then it sucks and will be annoying to everyone else. Specially in raid.
regular flying being locked is kinda BS I don't want to always be having to be using dynamic. I hope pathfinder is easy I barely use the dragon mounts already unless it's a hike.
Blizzard should allow players to customize the position of weapons on their backs based on their preferences and the needs of their character models to avoid clipping problems
Warband: it would looks so much cooler if they turn the camera into a more frog point of view. As someone who is standing with them. This current view looks to much like the rumble style of small little hero figures you collect. The concept looked much cooler.
Would kill for a Tank Icon, Healer Icon and Range Icon/Melee Icon to place over people in the raid. That way we can use Star/Circle/X/Skull/Square exclusive to mobs.
The câmera change I wanted was to have a small area around the character where if something was in between you and the camera it would become like an x-ray vision... I hate it specially when I'm on a race and the path is in a very cluttered space with trees and branches....
When watching the Blizcon tournament, it has orange circles under the characters indicating opposite team which makes it much easier to locate your enemy while ZOOM at max camera! Why can’t they do that for arenas!?
Honestly, I'm not a big fan of this idea that "more modern" means an icon looses a lot of its personality. It's like the de-evolution of firefox symbol, the more "modern" something gets the more flair and style it looses. The list items for transmog is a perfect example of this, it didn't look old, it looked stylized. Modern should mean more high res, more vibrant colors, maybe the buttons for spells have a themed border depending on if they're class/spec/general, this sanitization of aesthetic for the sake of "cleanliness" really just makes the ui bland and boring.

They won’t pop up on your alts anymore. That’s what the warband competed quests toggle on the map is. If you want to replay the quests on an alt, you’ll need to pick them up from the quest giver.
The camera and character highlighting option is incredible! Why can't we have the same features in all versions of WoW?
I can't wait to see what the camera changes will bring to machinima making.
Can I use my Dragonriding drake with the old style of flying?
This is cool - now make it so that trivial things like trees an ceilings don't occlude vision. It's so annoying when some tapestry on the wall or ceiling prevents you from seeing the floor.
They should not touch old icons imo. They are legacy at this point and seeing them the way they used to be is heartwarming for a wow veteran. If anything, they could fix them a lil bit to make borders better and stuff, but please do not redraw them.
the camera-fix is a great upgrade.
Was it Fallout Tactics camera that just showed thru walls and objects when char was in funky spot ?
That could work too.
What do you think? Does everyone see your self highlight or circle? C’mon…
@@no-budhee6657 I don't know. That's why I asked. The star icon looked like the raid icon in game right now.
regular flying being locked is kinda BS I don't want to always be having to be using dynamic. I hope pathfinder is easy I barely use the dragon mounts already unless it's a hike.
I think it's a reasonable, or at least not terrible trade-off instead of not having flying at all in the beginning of an expac.
Why describe settings and not show where they are???
Hang on, so Naxxramas now has an optional CRAB WING!?! Bring it on :D
is it bad that the things im always most excited for in the new expansions are the UI changes?
Blizzard should allow players to customize the position of weapons on their backs based on their preferences and the needs of their character models to avoid clipping problems
Warband: it would looks so much cooler if they turn the camera into a more frog point of view. As someone who is standing with them. This current view looks to much like the rumble style of small little hero figures you collect.
The concept looked much cooler.
the UI change we really need is horizontal nameplate stacking like it used to be pre BFA., (edit: pre SL, so BFA included)
Would kill for a Tank Icon, Healer Icon and Range Icon/Melee Icon to place over people in the raid. That way we can use Star/Circle/X/Skull/Square exclusive to mobs.
i dont see how you change the camera settings so it doesnt crash
Next thing they need to do is combine the quest log across characters.
I old. But the character silhouette options will make raids easier for me to keep track of my location and focus.
as a colorblind person, the new quest icons are great
LOL, when a game starts to lose player base, everything suddenly can be fixed. What's next?
the game isnt losing player base though. bellular did a video going over the numbers...
Yes, I agree. Please, please, please, update the Health Bars and customizability of them. I hate having to use Plater and other mod for it…
The new spell book looks awesome. I find it to be a perfect upgrade as is, the spacing is not a problem for me
was hoping for camera zoom out like old times...
