Two important things for me affordability and no taxation.

Great place. The Expat bar in Varna is `Sundogs' (is in the centre), which is handy when trying to find out any Varna information.
The 3 Lions pub is a Liverpool FC fans bar whenever they are playing.

WOW!!! Fantastic Vid!! Great job Alaska man Victor!! Dan I love the map at 2: 15 in: Varna is really close to LOTS of things to visit: For map reference, Varna to Odessa, on the Black Sea, is about 650 Km, a bus ride or car travel of about one day!! What a wonderful place to live and retire. Best wishes Victor and family

Years ago, one could get by pretty easily with Russian in Bulgaria. Wonder if it’s still the case.

Dracula was a tax collector in Romania. He was a real person.

So did they have to buy an apartment in order to stay there long term? Or how is they are able to live there? Maybe a retirement visa?

Bulgaria has lost 11.5 percent of its population in the last decade. Young people are fleeing Bulgaria in droves.

They are going to high income places in Europe to make money but many will return when they are ready to retire. That is actually a good sign. It means there is less inflation pressure because salaries have remained depressed here.
