This reminds me of one of the Saw writers who mentioned having recieved fanmail from someone claiming to be the real Jigsaw and would be "keeping an eye on him" Obviously a dark prank, but guy mentioned it scared the shit out of him. Can't blame him
I don't know if this counts as an exploitation film, but a movie that you may be interested in is a movie called "Pound" from 1970. It was written and directed by Robert Downey Sr. and was Robert Downey Jr.'s first ever role. It's about a bunch of animals in a pound...who are about to be euthanized. All the animals are played by humans...with RDJ's role being a puppy.
Ah yes... the same show that through in Elizabeth Short, Richard Speck, Anne Franks, Madamn LeLaurie, Elizabeth Bathory, Richard Ramirez, HH Holmes and many many others. AHS is many things, tasteful sure ain't one.
I can live with making movies/ shows about serial killers, but I draw the line when it comes at portraying them as a protagonist. Making Ramirez a main character in one of those seasons was one of the few times I felt justifiably offended.
Just saw your eBay posting of your NES collection. 1) Had no idea you own that many games, and 2) it made me kind of sad seeing you having to resort to extreme measures like that to help finish up your movie. Best of luck, Brad.

I remember in Zodiac, one of the letters the killer sends to the Chronicle says he's looking forward to seeing a movie made about him and he wonders what actor will be chosen to play him. Joke's on you, ZK! You're a mailman named Jerry! You hang around with middle-aged losers and jump on cars!
While the movie is badshit crazy in many ways, it did explore a rather thought-provoking prospect for the time, that serial killers can be good at pretending to lead a normal life, hidden in plain sight. Something very Henry portrait of a serial killer, only it is featured in exploitation shlock.
I was friends with Tom Hanson's son Jim. Tom Hanson owned or co-owned the pizza man pizza chain around the same time this movie was made. His silhouette in profile was part of the logo. Isn’t his name Greg Golightly. 🤨🤔
I was not prepared for that Albert Fish joke or the reference to The Room.
That's the second Fish joke after Balloon Land.
I wasn’t prepared for the “the fountain of youth lives” bit
The backstory of this film is just amazing. It's far and away the best thing about it. I'm saddened Zodiac good film didnt mention it.
This isn’t the one they are watching in the theatre?
I managed to get here super early, maybe I can get a heart from Brad? Maybe I’ll have to break out my factory sealed Caligula vinyl? I don’t know.

That's some damn good comedy right there.
I see that the 70s version of the usual suspects lineup looks a bit lackluster. Keyser Soze is the guy in the Ray bans.
So that explains the bunnies from Seven Psychopaths!
I was thinking the same exact thing.
Snob: [Actor or Director] as you may remember from [film].
Me: Nope, but I'm hoping you reference it so I can pretend to remember.
Love the Manos-style sax music in the background. It really gives the murders a wistful jauntiness.
really wish fincher gave us a scene of jake gyllenhaal and rdj sitting in a theater watching this with confused looks on their faces

"Well that book was a wasted purchase." I don't think he was able to regret buying it though.

Hahaha. What a story, Han.

Snob is actually dead right when he says being a serial killer was easier in the 60s and 70s.
Its often called the golden age of the serial killer for a reason.
And you know this because...?😏😱

I love that you called him “Justine from Red Zone Cuba”
I remember that when i was little, and i heard the name "Zodiac Killer"
I thought it was a villain from "Knights of the Zodiac"

Still a better Zodiac killer explanation than American Horror Story
Ah yes... the same show that through in Elizabeth Short, Richard Speck, Anne Franks, Madamn LeLaurie, Elizabeth Bathory, Richard Ramirez, HH Holmes and many many others. AHS is many things, tasteful sure ain't one.
And the Fincher Zodiac had impeccable performances, dialogue, direction and editing. How am I meant to laugh at that? Useless.
