Donna Summer lived 1968-1976 in Germany and Austria, but she has some difficulties with the subtleties of German grammar. Sandra Bullock' mother was the German opera singer Helga Mayer. While born in Virginia, Sandra lived most of her first 12 years in Nuremberg, for some time also in Salzburg and Vienna. Since at the time double citizenship was only possible in exceptional cases, she lost her German citizenship as she became 18, but applied in 2009 again for German citizenship. Her cousin is married with the conservative Bavarian politician Peter Ramsauer, 2009-2013 federal minister for transport and housing. She has a significant Franconian-Bavarian accent, and got only once the article wrong. Leonardo Wilhelm DiCaprio's mother Irmelin Indenbirken emigrated in the 1950s from North-Rhine Westfalia to the US, where she married George DiCaprio of Italian and German descent. His German grandma Helene Indenbirken was born as Yelena Smirnova in the Russian Empire in 1915. His middle name came from his grandfather Wilhelm Indenbirken (the family name translates to "in the birches"). But his US-American accent is very strong. Bud Spencer, born in 1929 as Carlo Pedersoli in Naples, won the Italian Freestyle swimming championship (7 consecutive years) and the Italian Breastsroke swimming championship (10 consecutive years, before he started a career as actor, mostly in Italian action comedies. In 2011 the town of Schwäbisch Gmünd staged a survey to find a name for a new tunnel at Federal Route 29, and was surprised as most people voted for Bud Spencer tunnel. The city council rejected the proposal, but instead renamed the public open-air pool after him, where he won in 1951 a German-Italian swimming competition. The first clip is from the inauguration ceremony, where he said that he had once learned German, but forgotten all of it. Pep Guardiola speaks only broken German with a strong Spanish accent; the clip is from the time as he coached the FC Bayern München (Munich); since 2017 he is coaching Manchester City.
Well, you can tell he's struggling with the vocabulary even if his pronunciation is perfect. Kinda makes sense, given that he said he'd had German speaking roles before. Probably did a lot of work with a dialect coach.
He is like Mr. Understatement, so decent, always. The only time C. Lee was not a charming gentleman, but emotional, sad, was when he told he was waiting since centuries to play Gandalf and was very disappointed when he did not get that role but (at least) Saruman.
My man, you can't make a video that draws all the germans and say you don't know Bud Spencer lol. That man is a legend and loved here. So, Sandra Bullock speaks not only like a native, she speaks like a local from where she grew up. She has a slight dialect, the way she is rolling the R when she speaks german is so typical for the area. Novak Djokovic speaks very well, but with a clear accent (a clear sign his german is very good is when he said 'hab' instead of 'habe', cause that's the everyday speaking version). Jorge Bergolio (pope originally from Argentina) speaks okay, but like someone who learned it - all the popes make easter greetings in several languages. Everyone else (including Donna Summers) speaks like someone who learned it as a foreign language, on different degrees of proficiency, even Leo DiCaprio obviously learned it in the US and has a very pronounced accent.

Leo used to know enough German to speak with older Germans, who didn’t speak one word English. He visited his grandparents pretty much every summer from the early 1980s until they died (years after Titanic, I can’t remember the year his grandmother died).
Sandra Bullock speaks good German, with a Franconian accent.

2:59 you don't know Christopher Lee, a huge icon? He portrayed Saroman in Lord of the Rings, he is still the most recognized actor playing Dracula, he also published metal music albums when he was above 90 years old, he also participated in James Bond as the man with the golden gun. How can you *not* know about him?!^^
Edit: he also portrayed Dr. Fu Man Chu in the 70s and was also the evil villain in "Captain Invincible", where he literaly defeated the superhero by offering him alcohol. Plus, he portayed Count Dooku in Star Wars. I think now it's official, Ryan Wass is kind of living under a rock (no offence).^^

Christopher Lee.
Dracula?
Saruman in Lord of the Rings?
Count Dooku in Star Wars?
Voice of King Haggard in The last Unicorn for which he did the English and the German voice.
Dr. Fu Man Chu?
He has an entry in the Guinness Book of Records as the moste credited actor in movies, more than 280.
He lectured Peter Jackson on set of Lord of the Rings. Jackons told Lee which noises he should make when Saruman gets stabbed. He refused to scream and told Jackson that it is more of a smothered aaaa because the air gets pressed out of the lungs. Lee had some first hand experience from World War II.

Not knowing Bud Spencer as an American is understandable, but CHRISTOPHER LEE????
😳😳😳😳
By the way, Donna Summer still is thinking in English and then she translates to German. Sandra Bullock obviously is able to think in German, but makes some minor grammatical mistakes.
Donna Summer WAS thinking... God may rest her...
John Kerry spent a lot of time over here in Austria as Secretary of State. You could always tell when he was at the Hotel Imperial. He got quite a bit of exposure to German.
Christopher Lee played Saruman in Lord of the Rings my guy
Bud Spencer was the legend of the 80s, every kid of the 80s knows him. He's the main character of many slapstick comedy fighting movies, usually accompanied by his sidekick Terence Hill. The movies are all kinda same: he is attacked by a bunch of stupid gangsters and slaps them into oblivion. ;-)
Well, they were boys films. I hated to have to take my little brother to the cinema.
But after some films 'Pupertät'(?) came and I fell in love with Terence Hill.
Btw both of them also played roles in german films.
fun fact: one of the "stupid gangsters" was joe bugner, a pro boxer, who couldn´t get knocked out by muhammad ali and joe frazier 😳

6:20 that is Francis! Jorge Bergolio is his personal name, while Francis is his chosen papal name. Same goes for his predecessor, Benedict XVI, who actually came from Germany. His name was Joseph Ratzinger before being elected pope.
That brazillian renata woman was not talking about anything religious she was just retelling her travel experiences lmao.
Also Bud Spencer was such a humble guy lol. To translate back into English the 2nd interview:
Bud: You can talk German with me it's fine.
Interviewer: Oh wow. Well you are one of the biggest movie stars these days.
Bud: Yeah sure I am almost 2 meter tall.
He didn't misunderstand. During his entire career he refused to call himself a movie star. He was just paid to act in movies.
PS: Educate yourself on Italian film culture by watching some Bud Spencer clips lmfao.
@4:05 Next to Bud Spencer in this scene is Rudi Carell. He was a famous and great TV-Entertainer and Show moderator. RIP Rudi Carell. ❤You were one of the greatest.
Christopher Lee dubed himself in German in the German movie-version of "The Last Unicorn". He also played some parts in German in the 60ies, namely "Das Geheimnis der gelen Narzissen", "Sherlock Holmes und das Halsband des Todes" and another Edgar Wallace-krimi.
What!? You don't know Christopher Lee? I'm sure, you would recognize him, if he had long white hair and a beard. ;-) BTW, he was a polyglot and spoke at least 5 languages fluently. His German is very good, much better than you judge from this short clip. Here he's saying that he only speaks a little bit German, but he was actually speaking on a native like level, even his accent is very close to native German speakers.
How in the world you dont know Bud Spencer!
Nobody knows the Trinity films in America. Its a bit like asking Europeans what they think of the Jim Varney movies. A guy who owned the 80's and 90's and also made stuff in the 21st century..

@@hermaeusmora424 Hasslehoff is known worldwide as an actor because of Knight Rider and Baywatch. As a singer basically only in Germany.

Yes, it is for sure the Pope. When you become Pope, you choose a name for this "Job".
Sandra Bullock spent her first 12 years mostly in Germany and Austria (her mother is German).

Bud Spencer I get, i understand his films weren't that big in the US, but Chris Lee had so many high profile roles!
I love how the screen text for pope Francis said "argentian pope". Of course it's not wrong, but it makes it sound like there were many popes in every country, lol.
Yes, why did they not write Papst Franziskus, born Jorge etc., in Argentinien?
It really sounded like every country has a pope like a king.
It's even more confusing because there actually are other Christian churches that have their own popes, so without looking it up, it seems almost plausible for there to be an orthodox church in Argentina that elects their own pope.

About 20 years ago I visited a cinema here in Munich, and Sandra Bullock had a premiere here. I didn't know that and was there for a different film, but once there, I enjoyed her presence and the scenary on the red carpet. There was a bunch of German teenage girls, shouting "Sandra, Sandra!!!", and Ms. Bullock was really, really nice. She acted very naturally, took her time, engaged with and hugged her young female fans, spoke an excellent German and made a lots of selfies with them ... or short: She really did this great, really, really great. The scenario may be seen as "professional" for this class of an actress, but I feeled more than this: Somehow coming home ...
Christopher Lee has one of the most amazing life stories... more or less he is thought to be the person who inspired Ian Fleming to write James Bond.

To not know Christopher Lee you must not have seen Star Wars Episode 2 Attack of the Clones and Star Wars Episode 3 Revenge of the Sith, nor have you seen any of the Lord of the Rings movies. That's what I call a real talent of missed film art
