Burger was translated to citizien, because the german word "Bürger" means citizen.
Yes and on top it should have been translated to sandwich, because Germans call the whole thing Burger, while Americans call only the patty a burger and the whole thing a sandwich.
@@derhinek okay, that fact is new to me. The bread may be called a bun or is this just for hot dogs?
@@derhinek Actually, we call the whole thing a burger, too - but only if it has a beef patty. If you take a burger and change absolutely nothing except you use chicken instead of beef, then most people will call it a chicken sandwich and so on. Of course, it is not incorrect to call any burger a sandwich.
@@derhinekI don’t think that’s true. Maybe in some parts of the US. But definitely not in California and also Ryan himself is constantly calling it a burger referring to the whole thing and not only the patty so I think also Indiana and probably all of the Midwest doesn’t do that.
Bürgerhaus = Burger House 😂
"McDonald's is an American company, and you guys get the better food, how is that?" That's because American companies in the US serve to American standards ;-)
Perfect comment. Kann man nich' meckern!
Hard, but true. You get what you pay for in the end
Actually that’s only part of the reason. There are so many McD‘s in the US that in order to change the menu, it would be really difficult to find a supplier for the new ingredients. I think there is an example using blueberries (I think for a new McFlurry sauce) but the issue is that in order to supply the whole of the US, they‘d need nearly the world‘s entire supply of blueberries. So the quantities needed to supply the US McD‘s is simply too large to add any new item are insanely difficult to get.
Served like a German McDonald employee…even without a smile 😂
You forgot to mention: Standards defined by pure capitalist view, while ours include citizens' interest (what americans call communist).
The German word for citizen is Bürger which is pronounced like the English word "Burger". So the translation assumes he talks about citizens but he is talking about burgers.
wusste doch schon immer das wir alle laufende hamburger sind
That's wrong. There is a clear difference in the pronounciation of "Bürger" and "Burger". Still the translation program mixes them up.
@@hoodyniszwangsjacke3190 A German might notice the difference (because for us, Burger and Bürger are two different things), but some non-native speaker might be oblivious to the difference. To hear a phonetic difference, you have to have words in your passive vocabulary where the slight sound shift makes a difference in meaning.

@lepep5365 ... ah no prob, after max. 5 minutes we'll have started arguing about a rare "dative form" or the roots of some idiom ^^
@@BR618i am more excited about the argument of whether or not it was right to use a dative in the first place or if you should have used a genitive.
Also the different ways to translate things depending on which Dialekt you speak/impossible to translate sentences that somehow make sense in some dialects, like 'komm mal bei mich bei' (I know you can translate the meaning but not the sentence)
As for the channel name "Mecces Gott": "Mecces" is kind of a slang word for McDonald's in Germany. However, I would write it differently.
"Gott" means God.
So the "Mecces Gott" is the McDonald's God… allegedly 😉
Sidenote in Australia it's also common to call it Maccas
genau 👍
It‘s like MickeyD in the US
Mäcces! :D
Or, depending on the people you're talking to, you can nicely disguise it as the "Restaurant zur Goldenen Möwe" (Golden Gull Restraurant).
Mäci in Austria 😂
In Germany and Austria you get the McFlurry in a cardboard box with a wooden spoon. They are not allowed to use the old plastic spoons to mix your topic under your icecream or give out plastic straws, only paper straws. They try to protect the environment this way.
In whole europe it is like that
And it is not "flurred", they just put the extras on top. Totally stupid product now.
The lid on top was also banned because hedgehogs could get stuck in thrown away containers.
Never knew why the McFlurry plastic spoons were so weirdly shaped before, after seeing this video it finally makes sense.
Then they should just make a flurry machine with a metal spoon and serve the flurred flurry to the customer after the fact...
The McRib is seasonal in the USA due to changing pork prices,
It is permanent in Germany because of constantly low pork prices.
However, several years back the McRib was an on and off seasonal product in Germany as well.
And in Germany the Quaterpounder is called Royal mit Käse (Royal with cheese) Because of the metric system 😉 Btw, I need to watch Pulp Fiction again😊
You mean Bavarian Pulp Fiction? 🤪
That what I was thinking immediately too!!!!😂
Wie nennen die nen Whopper? Keine Ahnung. Bei Burger King war ich nicht...
While McDonalds is still not healthy in Germany, the quality and quality control of the ingredients is much higher and many additives and preservatives are not allowed overhere.
The only bottleneck to really good quality are the restaurants themselves. Unskilled and unmotivated workers and greedy franchise companies that do not keep to corporate standards are the main problem. The ingredients are actually of very high quality when they arrive at the restaurant.
Yeah, no sauce on my McRib 😭😭😭, so salt on my fries 😪
The translation kept confusing Burger (burger) for Bürger (citizen).
I think in Germany it's not as common to eat out for breakfast, only in big cities maybe.
Beside on weekends the brunch buffets in bistros.
Maybe not as common as in the US, but people have breakfast in Cafes here all the time.
not during the week. most people start working between 6-8am..
nobody goes to sit down at a restaurant to have breakfast in germany at that time..
sure it is quite common, but there are already a lot of very good options so McD would have a hard time to compete.
When we wat to eat out for breakfest the last thing we think of is Mc Donalds O.o
Oh Ryan, if you are ever going to travel to Germany please have breakfast in a small Café or bakery. I would never ever eat breakfast at McDonald's.
That's exactly what I do. Sometimes at Netto or Edeka.
the mcmuffins are fire tho. McMuffin fresh chicken is probably my favorit item that mc donalds sells.
"Mecces" is an abbreviation for McDonalds, so you pronounce it Mac' S ...
..the translation struggles, because it tries to translates every word from "german to english", even the english spoken... so he says english "burger", but the auto-translate hears the german word "Bürger" that translates to Citizen. Most McD's products in Germany have english names.
Sidenote in Australia it's also common to call it Maccas
The Germans always pronounce it "Mec' S". Anytime there's an "a" in an English word, Germans pronounce it as a German "ä".
Austrians call it Maci or Mäcci (both pronounced the same). Still better than the French abbreviation, lol.
@@lazrseagull54
And this is the right think to do for most english words.
Hello - in Germany there are much better playgrounds available than McD ever offered. And they are about everywhere - parents usually walk there from home in several minutes😉
Wish that would stil be the case. 3/4 closed down after the "Wende".
About 20-25 years ago, I always wanted to go to McDonald's, because they had a slide that led to a pool filled with plastic balls. We called it the "Bälleparadies". McDonald's was the most fun place to play at.
The chicken in the salad were not chicken McNuggets, because if you look closely they had no breading around them

LOL yes we love sausages, thats the reason Maccas will not try to sell such a burrito here, they know their tasty competion on the free market.
only exception was the Nürnberger Bratwurst Burger xD from that soccer man, i forgot his name
@@Dadadin Schlüter, (his fabrik produced authentic original nürnberger Bratwurst for MacD) but that way it was for sure not the "wurstburrito" Rayan would expect ;)
The word sausage has a double meaning in the US. It is also used for a patty of the sausage filling without the casing. In germany the wurst (sausage) is considered only if there is a casing. Also in den staaten heisst sausage auch wenn man einfach die Wirstfüllung brät - ohne pelle
@@HolgerNestmann The sausage-patty existed also in german McDonalds. It was a patty in size of the hamburger-patties and was available in the CountryMcGriddles and the McMuffin sausage & egg and the McMuffin sausage TS while breakfast.

haha yeah. Just imagine your friend asking "Hey, are we to go in today or shall we get our meal from the dolphin?"
Yeah the "SnackWrap TS" (TS stands for Tomate (tomato) and Salat (lettuce)) was also available in Germany for only like half a year and then it was discontinued.
I was really sad because like you said, these things were like 1,49€ and they tasted great after a night full of drinks 😅
we also get dots from our blinds( "Rollladen") in Germany also they're horizontal.
only when not fully closed
Our Mc Donalds also have playgrounds for children. Just that they don't have extra facilitys just for that. They are usually incorporated or attached to the restaurants.
"How does that make sense?" People want a variety of decent food, and if restaurants don´t offer that, they go out of busines. Personally, I am okay with just having hamburgers and cheesburgers to satisfy my accute junkfood deficiency, which comes up once every few years, but that isn´t sufficient to regularly attract customers, as long as there are many great alternatives around everywhere.
In my region of Germany you will find a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant beside every MC Donalds. The MC Donalds opens and soon there will be a Kentucky by its side. It looks like a war between them (Please tell me if I am wrong). I think the Chicken wrap is a result of that. They make it to fight KFC. That is my idea. Not sure...just thinking.🤔
last time i was in a fast food restaurant is many years ago. for a cheaper price, just go to a butcher or bakery and buy some roll with ham and cheese and stuff. way healthier and better quality, and keeps the hunger down for a way longer time too.
Though MCDonald Salad is oddly succesfull in Germany many people say "Going to McDonalds for Salad is like going to a whore for hugs"(of course we say it in german)
Although the latter happens quite often.
Cool, den Spruch kannte ich noch nicht.
McDonalds always adapts to the local culture. I personally don't like it much in Germany, but I was on vacation in Italy once and wow the McDonald's food there was just amazing. Tasted a lot more like real food compared to what they have in the German ones.
Jupp. Hab es in Rom probiert. Sehr lecker. In Chicago war ich geflashed durch das "refill" der Cola. Aber "refill" mal 1l. Die lokalen Unterschiede sind sehr faszinierend.
Well we definitely don't have sth like that McD entertaintment center. if you are in a city most often the restaurant is rather small, sometimes there are even only 3-5 two person tables, but if you go to a McD or Burgerking somewhere on the outskirts then it's often a big restaurant and most of them have at least a little playground for kids.
We used to have McDonalds birthday parties as well but I didn't see anymore that since the end of the 90's
McD Birthday Parties still exist, I work at McDonalds and we recently had one
Oh, cool :) The McDonalds in Esslingen is long gone but they used to have a cool throne for the birthday kid, is that also still a thing?
@@florianreimann3166 I dont think so, but could be different at other stores
where I live we still have these little rooms with the glass front and the balloons for the birthday parties. And all McD here have that strange plastic playground outside - I've never seen one indoors!
On the Salad thing:
When you wanna eat healthy, why going to McDonalds in the first place?! XD
When I was a kid and still in school we had a McDonalds ~300m away from school and anything else where you could buy food was more than 600m away, so for us lazy kids the choice was easy. I usually ordered their 1€ garden salad + balsamic dressing. those were the times
Also: group settings. If your friends or family members want to eat there and you go with them, you can choose something you like more. It’s not necessarily about health either. I don’t like the taste of Burger King for example, the only thing I‘d eat there are the salads and ice cream.
Or you are on the Autobahn and don't have a lot of options. And the salad at McDonalds is cheaper than in restaurants. Or you want a burger and eat the salad as a side dish.
Btw: If you want to eat unhealthy you could also just eat a bag of chips... Why would you go to McDonalds when you want to eat unhealthy?
we had playgrounds, birthday rooms and game console corners at mc donalds but it all disappeared
We also did go to McDonald's for a birthday party. I remember going bowling and after that going to McDonald's and get the happy meal and it was good times for sure
We want and need more reactions on german food & I would love to see a video from you about my Hometown Kassel in the middle of Germany 🖖🏼🇩🇪❤️ best wishes, Felix ✌🏼
They don’t use the nuggets for the salad. It’s the chicken patty of the McChicken classic.
He called it a double "Drive In", but that's a misconception about "drive ins" in general, most Germans don't know that it is actually called "Drive Thru" in the USA. The term used by McDonald's Germany is "Mc Drive".
The word which the captions translated as "citizen" was the word Burger. Obviously in this context it's referring to the food, but it sounds incredibly similar to the German word "Bürger" (citizen)
Me at McD-Germany: "Fries with mayonaise, please! ... oh, and a large beer!" :)
Sie sind hier bei McDonalds --- oh sorry, dann ein McBier
It translated it based on his accent, "Bürger" is Citizen, but he means "Burger". He pronounces it the same.
No matter what it is, I like the food better at Burger King. What is harsh are the prices charged by McDonald, Burger King, KFC, Pizza Hut etc. in Germany. A single whooper €5.20 Burger King / a single Big Mac €5.10 McDonald /a single Zinger Burger €5.99 KFC / a single Cheesburger 12,89 € Five Guys
I would argue that the chicken nuggets are better at McD, but for everything else i agree, BK all the way.
Same here, I also prefer Burger King. The McD stuff appears very dry to me and I can eat more which means it doesn't fill you up as well. But okay - at least I go for junkfood only 5 or 6 times a year...!
We used to have a playground here in the McDonald's Krefeld with a slide, a carousel and a seesaw. I also celebrated a birthday there as a child in the early 90s because I was invited young and was there all day. The whole thing was eventually phased out and I haven't seen it at any other McDonald's. The MC Flurry was previously also with the plastic spoon and the mixer. But they recently switched everything to cardboard wood and ceramic.
Hallo and hello! Greetings from Germany
SO needy????
In the Caesar Salad does not contain McNuggets. I would assume it is a cut up McCrispy patty. Not that it matters much, but it is at least a bit better than straight McNuggets.
And that info about the play grounds is wrong. Our local McD has a large outdoor play ground, and (aside from those in inner cities) most of the rural ones I´ve seen have them too.
We don’t Need a lavish breakfast at Mc Donalds, because we love out bread so much.

0:39 Almost nailed it on your first try. I'd spell it Mäcces though which is colloquial for "The Golden Gull Restaurant" aka McDonalds. Just say Mc or Mac with -es appended to it.
1:02 That's actually unusual. Or new. Haven't been to one in years...
1:41 You just exactly described the McFlurry container that I know from Germany as well... that's gotta be a new one then.
3:44 I know those, but IIRC they've only been available occasionally.
4:06 Even those aren't that bad here... they still have a few distinct shapes that are always the same, so it's clearly put together from smaller pieces, but the quality is still rather decent.
5:36 Sounds extreme.
6:33 I'm pretty sure one in my area does have a climbing tower with a slide outside and I remember that the playground initially was larger until they added McCafé to the whole thing, which also has a few seats outside, so they had to shrink the playground.
7:31 He says Cola, which to be fair, typically is Coke at McD.
7:44 Approx. one and a half coke cans. EU cans are 330ml, US ones are 12 fl oz which is 355ml.
8:03 I'm pretty sure I've seen this in Germany already as well, but I think those weren't available for too long, cos noone bought those XD
8:16 I still don't get why those are called McMuffin. Not muffins at all.

8:59 That's because burger almost sounds like Bürger.
11:26 They're called drive-in here :D
12:13 Have a bigtastic day! :D
BTW Curly Fries and Gitterkartoffeln (grid potatoes) are a lot better than the classic french fries. Sometimes they also offer wedges.
PS: I wonder why he didn't even mention the "Hüttengaudi" which is an recurring event that's always around late Octover / Növember where you can get the Big Rösti and some grilled cheese sticks and a few other things inspired by traditional cuisine from the Alps region IIRC. People are really keen on those.
You need to know, for the longest time in germany aracades were age restricted and you needed to be an adult to go there. That's why there is no arcade style kids segement at McD. But we do have playgrounds at McD depending on the location.
arcades only can be found in casinos and them are 18+ yeah u wont find them in any stores because of that reason.
6:40 I don't live in germany but in Switzerland and McDonald's always had a play area for kids when I was a kid but they somehow all disappeared a few years ago.
8:46 We have Bakeries whith real Bread ans and cakes Coffee. No one goes to MD for Breakfast.

I am quite sure, two years ago there was no LLM involved in creating these captions.
The playgrounds at McDonalds & Co. were comparatively little used in Germany.
The McDonald's in the town where I live has a large, fenced-in playground for dogs.
Since the video is a bit older, what is still missing is that we have had the so-called Mc Delivery for some time now.

German McDonalds does not have any vegan burger, because of the reasons you mentioned. The plant-based patty for the McPlant and the McPlant Nuggets are made in the same devices as meat-products. Also, iirc, the sauce on the McPlant is not vegan. But at least the burger is a nice alternative if you sometimes don't want to eat meat and it tastes surprisingly good. (the McPlant nuggets however taste like the cardboard box they come in)
A big difference he failed to talk about are the sauces. I was shocked that you don't have the Curry Sauce in the US. Neither at McDonald's not at KFC. 😄
"the McPlant nuggets however taste like the cardboard box they come in" - you have tried the cardboard box???😯😲
The curry sauce in German McDonald's is from Develey, who are a German company. Maybe that's why it's not available in the US. (You can buy Develey curry sauce in supermarkets, it's the exact same product as in McD).
"the McPlant nuggets however taste like the cardboard box they come in" - So you're saying, they just taste like the chicken nuggets?
@@xaverlustig3581 I know, but I thought they have at least something similar
We in Germany get better food and service quality than Americans at McDonalds, because of the EU quality standards that have to be met by every restaurant.
"McDonald's is an American company, and you guys get the better food, how is that?"
- Capitalism. Profit over People
The McFlurry was the same here, but due to plastic reduction laws in Europe, they had to change the product into a bigger McSundae with fancy topping. Worked myself at McDonald's here in Germany 10 years ago.
We also had the Snack Wrap, which was the smaller version of the McWraps. The Snack Wrap had the US-McChicken-Patty (German McChicken is different burger), while the McWrap has the larger McCrispy-Patty. When I started the McWrap actually had 3 Options. The one with the McCrispy-Patty, one with unbreaded chicken filet and one with a beef-patty that is also used on the quarter-pounder.
They got rid of the unbreaded chicken filet, because instead of the breaded Chicken, that gets put into the fryer frozen, the unbreaded chicken needed to be unfrozen before grilled like the beef-pattys. You always had the problem, that you had to trash to much unfrozen meat or you ran out of unfrozen meat. They also tried to make it work with frozen, unbreaded chicken, but it had issues with quality and since it was never a really much asked product, they scrapped it. The original Caesars Salad had also the unbreaded chicken, they changed it to the McChicken-patty.
But there isn't really a vegan product on the menu besides french fries. Those plant-based products just don't contain meat, but can get in contact with meat. Thats why they don't claim them as vegan or vegetarian products.
And on these entertainment-centers: McDonalds in Germany actually prefers take-away customers and doesn't want in-house customers to stay long. First: Tax on take-away is lower (7% instead of 19%). Second: A take-away customer makes significantly less garbage McDonalds has to deal with, so the more customers decide to take away, the smaller the need of someone cleaning the lobby, so they can cut crew cost.
The captions are the best on the clip. We need more youtubers with accents and bad pronounciation (the more texas style the higher the fun with captions).
We ALSO have the ONLY McBoat "drive through" for actual BOATS (so far... it's in Hamburg)
Europe has much stricter rules for the food manufacturing industry and the selling if it..
A lot of laws and a lot of things that are forbidden..
That's why companies in America can get away with selling garbage to the customers 🙄
In my opinion fast food is always trash - even here in Germany…. 😂

We used to have those slides and jungle gyms too but they aren't too common anymore. There's usually only a small playground as they need the extra space for mc café.
Also, kids here also celebrate their bday at McDonald's but not like it is in the US where that is the party. It's more a convenient stop for food on the way back from whatever activity you had with the kids. My kids had a day in the zoo or a day at the swimming pool or so and once that was over, we got everyone a kiddy box for dinner. But usually there's one or two kids who doesn't like fries and burgers, so making food at home is the safer option.
I would consider McDonalds to be one of my favorite foods in terms of taste, BUT McDonalds processes the food it offers so much that not even microorganisms want this food because it contains NO nutrients!!! I personally saw a McDonald's pickle slice stuck to the wall at a bus stop 20 years ago, and it's still stuck there TODAY! Nobody removed them and no microorganisms wanted to eat them...
There are McDonald's playgrounds in Germany but they are basically garbage compared to normal Playgrounds. I still remember the spiral slide that would basically give you electoshocks every time you rode it. On newer public playgrounds they use less plastic and more wood and steel which is way better in my opinion. For example a slide made from stainless steel wont give you those electroshocks.
We also have these kind of playgrounds at some McDonalds. Kids can also celebrate their birthday there.
In the town where I live we have a McDonalds that‘s using a old american bus as a event location for kids birthdays. Thought that was very cool as a child.
The words (German) Burger (Engl. burger)
and (German) Bürger (engl. citizens) are confused.
Germany: Drive in = Drive through, not dolphins
Some English words have migrated into the German language.
The translation tries in vain to understand this.
McDonalds is not really considered to be a "restaurant" in Europe/UK. Some outlets may have a few tables but that is basically to accommodate people waiting for their orders to be filled. It is considered to be more of a "take out" place, like KFC. A restaurant in Europe/UK is normally more for seated dining, with servers taking orders and bringing food to you at table. At McDonalds and KFC the "play area" for kids is not a focal point as kids are only there for a few minutes.
The part about the tables in not true at all for Germany. There are lots of tables and people DO eat there. It's still not considered a restaurant, though, because it's cheap fast food system catering.
@@Scamander Thank you. I was just trying to make the point that it is not considered a proper restaurant, but it is many years since I was in Germany and some things have obviously changed a little. Thanks again.

UK has the wraps and they’re really nice. I too miss the snack wrap, I loved those. But we get ‘wrap of the day’ offers and they change every day - only £1.99. U can either have the crispy chicken or plain chicken.
We also have the chicken tenders but they’re called ‘chicken selects’ and they are proper chicken mini fillets in lush crispy coating.
Love the breakfast roll. Theyve just brought a breakfast wrap out that looks lush and may have to be tried…
We also had the playgrounds at McDonalds in Germany back in the 00's (and the birthday parties of course) but I guess somewhere along the way it was deemed questionable to market unhealthy fast food directly to children :D

Therefore only adults can make sense of it. Maybee it´s just accompanying sleeping. We do have Chicken Mc Nuggets, but they are of corse no Salat. We have different kinds of Salat here in Germany at MC. Maybee it´s sells better. And of corse we do have birthday partys and also playgrounds surounding in MC. Slides and climbing walls are actually always available. But i don´t know if every MC has this possibility.
we used to have birthdays at mcdonalds too way back in the 90s , but it stopped, people dont drag their kids to fastfood chains anymore, the restaurants even removed the kids area within their restaurants. nobody misses it.
haha the translator made be bursting out in tears with the "citizen" instead of "burger"............ well like the comments already mentioned, the German word for citizen is "Bürger" which sounds very alike. But getting told which citizens this UA-camr likes or not really made my day!
For the McFlurry we had those cups with the lid as well. They use a different stirring machine now (or if they don't feel like it they Don't stir at all.) The container in the video is the newer packaging, based on a general trend to reduce packaging and use easier to recycle materials, supported by European regulations that prohibit use of unnecessary plastic packaging. No plastic straws as well.
That cup also has no longer the same plastic foil lining as the old one.
Oh and the signature burger is not as big as it looks. Although, Yeah, you easily get into the 1200 calories region with those.
Fun fact about the McRib, at some point they tried to change the recipe and reduce the amount of barbecue sauce to make it less messy... Didn't go well with people so they returned to the old recipe.
Oh, and we don't have the vending machines that pour you your favorite soft drink (coke fanta sprite) in all sorts of cringe worthy flavors. Just the straight regular stuff and coke as well in the light and zero variety.
Not they dont use the Nuggets for the salad , they use the same Chicken same as in the Wrap

A fact about the McFlurry in Germany: We had also the McFlurry with the lid to mix it better but because of the plastic in it McD in Germany changed most of their packages to more ecologial ones
We absolutely also have McDonalds play centers where our kids have their birthday parties! 🙂
McDonald's offers different meals in different European countries. When I come to Germany as an Austrian, I always try out things that aren't available here. In Austria we do have McD playgrounds, but they are very rarely indoor.
03:53 I mean... you have a point but at the same time a lot of European countries (including germany) fought for strict food regulations... so we kinda fought for that better food
you gotta annoy your politicians more I guess.
also the word that was mistranslated so often was "Burger" which is similar to the german "Bürger" which does mean infact "citizen" but obviously "Burger" means "Burger"
Btw if you had a Discord I would join it but I can not find a link anywhere...
also if you need a translator (cause of bad captions/subs) I would offer my services :)
In Germany we actaully have McDonalds playgrounds. Just the basic one with slides etc. but they are getting less and less each year. Also McDonalds birthday was a thing back in the day,
Bro, I feel you. We ve had snack wrap TS too. Best thing you could spend your beloved € on. Sadly we ve a normal wrap now twice as bis, but 6 times more expensive :,(
We have the word Burger as shortcut for "Hamburger" and we have Bürger (with Ü) which actually is citizen.
I'm actually not a big fan of McDonalds, but the best burger I've ever eaten at McDonalds was in Rome, Italy. It was a chicken burger with rocket, Parmesan and a balsamic sauce in a kind of flatbread. The chicken was not breaded, but had grill stripes and the combination was simply delicious. I barely ever visit McDonalds in Germany but whenever I travel around in Europe, I visit McDonalds since I always like to see what kind of different menus they offer in other countries and quite often I'm positively surprised.
preparing vegan burgers in McDonalds or BurgerKing, they have different pairs of tongs for meat and vegan patties. Easily to tell apart because the handles have different colors. Red for meat, green for veggie patties. *thats what i was told by a friend working there ...
My major problem with McDonalds is the oil they use to cook or fry their stuff as it tends to be unhealthy and my body simply can't take it anymore. Guess I am too old for that stuff!
We said earlier we'd go to the Scottish restaurant. The translation program takes the German word Burger as Bürger ( means Citizen ) a citizen
2:00 the swirling-spoon was in germany too, but now no more.. to much waste..the straw is out paper too^^
ofc we have these entertainment playground mcdonalds, almost every mcdonalds have this. slides and trampolines, and other stuff ball bath. and stuff ofc we have that ^^ yeah this in your video i havent seen either EVER its rly next level haha, but i must admit we have playrooms with tiny computers for kids tho. they can draw, watch cartoons, play some. so its nice
Hey Ryan, if you want to learn more about german McDonalds look up McCafe and „Big Rösti“ a Burger with Bacon and a really greasy Hash Brown
Just a little Correction there: They don't use the Chicken Nuggets in the Salad. They use breaded chickenmeat. A litte bit different. First and foremost: Nuggets are mostly getting "thrown" into an hot Oil bath so they look nice and smell good when they get delivered to us.... i somehow have a picture of a chicken hanging out one Wing while Enjoying the Oil Bath... ANYWAYS 😀 The breaded Chickenmeat is something similar to a Chicken Sandwich meat. It is also not hot but cold, Chicken Wings aren't eatable when cold 😀 And they get fried in a pan with a litte bit of oil. 🙂 And it is HELLA delicious. If you are ever somewhere in Germany and you are lusting for a McDonalds: try it. It is delicious. 🙂
There's always been a pig cycle in agriculture. When prices are good, farmers decide to get more piglets, and then the price crashes again when they are ready for the butcher. McDonald's McRib formula is to offer the McRib when scraps are ridiculously cheap. That is the only secret.
We too have this McDonalds playground thingy but only outside these days. Backe then we had them inside too... Idk why not anymore.
The reason why you have playgrounds at McD in the USA is because many people live in areas where there are no playgrounds. So parents bring their children in so they can play, also, they sell things, good business. I once watched a program on UA-cam where they talked about how McD's was strategically positioned best and the play area was better, in the more busy areas.
Don't forget that, at a German McDonald's, you have to purchase and pay for every drink and every sauce/ ketchup/mayonnaise separately as there are no free refills and we care about how much plastic waste we create.
That's also the reason why McFlurry and McSundae (Idk if the small ice cream cone is even a thing in the US) come in those cardboard mugs. AFAIK they blend the ice cream before, put it in the mugs and then put sauces and toppings on.
Also, there's that big cliché that they'd sell beer at McDonald's in Germany, which they don't and never did. Neither beer nor any other alcoholic drinks.
When I went to Germany in 1987, you could buy beer at McDonalds. That may have changed now, but it was true back then
Also a german cheeseburge in MCdonalds only has like 30 chemicals in them instead of about twice that amount in the us. In germany you also have this MCDonalds birthdays. I mean thats part of how they get the children addicted. Get them as a child and you have a customer for life although it might be a shorter lifespan than usual.
Btw the word that is translated to citizen is Burger. The AI thinks the word is Bürger which you can translate to citizen. Sidenote "bürgen" where Bürger comes from means "to vouch".
McDonalds Germany Headquarter in Munich is the only part of McDonalds with his own Test-Kitchen
There will new stuff created like "los Wochos" when you get mexican style burgers and other stuff.
They create and export them to other countrys and there they will be adapted. Just like normal beef burgers in India are only with chicken or pork.
In Germany the McFlurry isn't mixed up anymore since plastic spoons are forbidden -.-
I regularly order my favourite citizens while going through the dolphin.
I remember when they stopped giving you the soda you've ordered and instead you just get a cup you have to fill yourself
(when you're walking into the restaurant, the dolphin doesn't work that way obviously).
Somehow, I can't get myself to order a cup, I always order the beverage even though I know that I'll just get a cup.
we used to have the same container for the mc Flurry but due to banning one time use plastic spoons etc they cant use those anymore
4:30 Not weird at all. Just think of a Styrian Backhendlsalat! It's quite similar.
