Hey Neil. Thanks for all the info, influenced me getting my L4802. Going to do a YT review, hope you don’t mind me sending people here for more detail.
I like these upgrades. Your videos are so much fun to watch as I try to figure out what lion get. Wish I lived closer to you but do purchase from you online when I can. Great service from your team!!
Having owned a MX5800HST, the ability to operate the PTO off the tractor seat is fantastic. Also, relocating the PTO on/off switch is a good improvement and will save a lot of back twisting. Good stuff.
Was set on the Grand L. Saw brand new one on the lot and all the plastic was destroyed by the sun. This seems like a higher quality unit. I operated both. I think I will order this one with the hydrostatic trans.
Neil - There are a number of dealers who do these videos as a way of educating and building dealer loyalty. Some of them are very good. Your videos are great! Really well done. It would be interesting to see some videos done on various use cases with the tractor. For example, trees, stumps, backhoe use, rocks, in the field brush etc. It just expands the general knowledge. Thank you for all of this!
Agree with Neil that we bought the MX6000 instead of the L4701. Price was close. But, I loved the larger tires and more 'grunt' in 4wd which I needed for road maintenance.
Really appreciate all of the information you provide. When I was tractor shopping this is the one I really wanted but there were none around to be had and I even called another state. Needed one in a hurry for "snow season" so opted with the L3902. I may try to upgrade later. Maybe you could do a video on trading up and the in's/out's of that.
Hey Neil, your videos have been very informative and helpful, especially for a tractor newbie like me. Would love to see a video on the new LX3520 & LX4020. Not much about them out there.
@@MessicksEquip I actually have one on order and waiting. Also ordered the LX2980 snowblower, which seems to have a new subframe too. Been watching lots of videos, especially yours, to get informed. If you were closer, I would have gone to you guys, but although I'm in the NorthEast, I'm way north. Another great video would be concerning the mechanical self leveling on the LX models. Some love it, others hates it but would love to see a video truly addressing the benefits and caveats.
For $50k these tractors should come with brush inserts! I get that these level of tractors are utilitarian and not luxury oriented like the Grand series but still! I do have a 3902 and love the machine…very much like the upgrades from the 01 series but I have spent a bunch more money on upgrades … Like good hoops for tie down anchors (no real good spot in the front to tie down the tractor for hauling purposes) and I’ve installed the Brush inserts for the grill…also installed a 3rd function system! Over all very happy with the tractor and performs as it should.
I just bought a L4802 HST 4wd. It was $47k out-the-door, with a loader, 6' bush hog, and pallet forks. It was a lot of money, but I feel like I got my money's worth.
I really like the new upgrades. I have noticed that the L4701 has never been the heavy hitter that the L2501 has been. At least as far as sales go. I have the gear drive, ag tired version of the L2501 and it has been an absolute delight to own. It sits parked when not in use with 4 John Deere tractors and a Ford tractor and I have yet to have to break up a fight. I watched your video about the pulling power test gear drive vs. hydrostatic. That was a big sell for me. I have a Kubota GR2120 lawn tractor and I am stuck with Kubotas goofy treadle pedal on that. Although I love that machine, I am not a fan of the treadle pedal. I also have a big John Deere lawn tractor that has the twin touch pedals, which I prefer hands down. Although, the Kubota GR2120 will mow circles around it. Kubota needs to toot their own horn about their Glide Steer feature. That is amazing. It turns that mower into a zero turn( or nearly so) Thanks Neal. Love your videos. I watch them all. You are stuck with me now.
Thanks Neil, One of the things I have noticed with the deep groves & notches in a Floor Mat, certain boots of Mine get stuck in a Mat notch and the Groves in the Clutch Pedal. And with the strong Clutch Spring I have to Forceable pull My foot free. Mike M.
As a note.... if you do buy those rubber mats, take the time to clean and paint the existing floor pan and allow the paint to cure fully... if you just plunk the mat down over the bare metal , it'll rust to beat the band.
I like that button for dismount allowance, Someone needs to mention that you can’t hop out of the kubota ctl’s and leave the hydraulic front supply running, we run our wood splitter on our ctl out of the seat, it was a deal breaker for me chose a bobcat instead Cheers from Aus
How many modles does Kubota need? Rural King has a hand full of tractors with clear differences. Too many slight variations was the primary reason I got a different branded orange tractor. I am still really happy with that other branded orange tractor. You have made a career talking about how 3 tractors are pretty much the same but have slight differences. I think one tractor did not have a couple options but it was cheaper to add the options after than installed at the factory instead of getting the tractor with the options from the factory.
That would be great on the BX tractors. I see a lot of guys on UA-cam have added a similar type filter up front in the BX. Some use a Kubota part to do so. I will be doing this before winter, the stock location is horrible.
I like the fact that the Hydraulic couplers are tucked and protected. I seriously considered buying a 3560 grand L with the GST tranny. But the exposed hydraulic couplers scared me away, and I ended up with a JD 3039R instead.
We bought the 3560 Grand L anyway. It definitely is a trade-off, but we like the deluxe features of the Grand L series and added a lot of their options that you can only get on that series. We really like it and just exercise caution in the woods.
No they don’t. A lot of people don’t like it compared to the more common “twin pedal” style. The thing is, even if you hate it at first, you get used to it pretty quickly and it won’t bother you anymore.
If you got a cab one I understand the frustration. I have a L6060 cab with air ride and in rough terrain the arm rest hits the pto switch and cuts it off
It looks like the new L4802 has LED headlights like the lower L series, you didn’t mention that. It’s a nice upgrade. Also, correct me if I’m wrong…I thought the new fuel filter / separator housing has a water in fuel sensor and warning light? This one appears to not have that.
Neal its hard to tell, is this the same frame, tire size and loader as a L3902? I have a 3902 and love it. One thing i will say i never ask for more pto hp. I have never had an issue grinding up really nasty brush, grasses and wood but i do wish sometimes it had more loaded lift power. Not that its light on power, but more is always better right? So to other buyers, 39 hp really is enough to brush hog and till, so unless you want to have the most power in the platform on your block, 3902 will do the job too. I bet the 2502 is a real treat too. No emissions is a great sale point
Hi Neil, a long time ago you did a video about arms that you folks make for BX series Kubota tractor 3 point hitches, what are they called and are they in stock?
@MessicksEquip They don't shut off. Bunch of videos about it on utube. Mine had the same problem. The cable doesn't apply enough pressure to turn it back off. I have to reach under and move the actual arm on the machine by hand. 150hr L2501
@randalltolman2368 I did lube the cable and the spring on the actuator itself underneath. I'm mostly doing loader work/non pto implements. For how much I use the pto, I can reach underneath and force it all the way off. The issue is that the wire just folds when turning the pto off. It'll pull just fine, doesnt push. The part of the wire with the rubber boot that isn't in the cable is useless pushing. It should just be a solid lever attached to the actuator underneath. There is even an empty slot for one. I'm sure the $25 kubota saved will be meaningless the first time some idiot gets hurt.
How hard & how much to get a fully enclosed cab for a tractor in the 4000 series ? Seems like 5000 & up are the only ones that have the luxury for a enclosed cab. I was quoted $10g for cab, $4-5g for arms No offense, with the mx6000 vs 4800 in this video. If I’m spending $50-60 grand An extra $4-5g in price isn’t gonna make a difference to me, I’d want to extra horse power
