This guy's not bad, he should be in a band
what like a band with a misspelled bug as a name
@@aprilcruz3678 yes they should have a name that was inspired by buddy hollys band
maybe, just maybe. He should be the bassist of that band.
Yea he seems like a guy who could write a few song
@@Jakentosh Maybe he could also have a good solo career maybe that might be pushing it
I could watch that all day. Paul has such a great way of being JUST PAUL, no matter what he does.
John Armstrong hHa yeah true, very childish
He grooves. I like how he plays fills that don't land on beat 1.
Same.People saying he's not good don't realise how unique that is.He hit's the crash twice and goes into the 1 beat with the second hit.Very clever
To the young kids...who don't understand drumming...they think you've got to have 27 cymbals...have a drum riser float thru the air...be covered in tattoos... have fire coming out your ass...and wear your hat sideways ...to be a drummer!!! That's not the drummers job kids. The drummers job is to compliment the song....fill in the holes where needed...and hold the band together! Listen to The Beatles on the BBC from 1963 playing Little Richard's song:"Oh My Soul". A GREAT vocal by Paul McCartney and some GREAT frantic drumming by Ringo Starr!!! Ringo had/has...great time...great feel...and he swings when he plays! He is also the most influential rock;'n';roll drummer of all time!
His drumming is actually very similar to Ringo since they're both left handed playing right handed kits, of course Ringo has more feel and creativity, but Paul is a very nice drumer too.
Bill is right handed s he is playing in his natural environment
Though they're both left handed, they still sound really different. Paul took a lot of what he plays on drums from ringo but they still sound totally different.
@@MrBeagle22
If him playing right handed is proof that this isn't Paul, then surely Ringo died as well because he is also left handed but plays right handed.
How many instruments can you play?
Paul: Yes
He's playing exactly how Dave Grohl described it from an interview. This is amazing.
i know i watched that a minute ago lol looks like somebody came here to
Everybody’s talking about his drumming, but all I can think about it that adorable “Hey!” he does
hate him or hate him, that snare is sitting so far back in the groove. what a great feel.
Everybody loves Paul
@@davidqvarford1566 a lot of people love to hate him. I think because he’s good at everything, people feel the need to bring him down
As a drummer he's an excellent bass player.
You can ALWAYS tell when Paul's on the drums in The Beatles because he's always a little behind the beat, giving the songs a slight "funk" feel.

The man can groove.
that sounds incredibly simple, but those fills are superb, and the feel of the playing is fantastic. perfectly nuanced
He's got a pretty good groove. Groove is what separates the good drummers from the bad ones.
its a pretty simple groove tho
@@mrpineapplezz886 You play what suits the song. You don't have to play super technical to be a good drummer. :P

Wow that was surprisingly really good
This guy is really good. He should turn professional.
When Lars had hair
kek
Lars can't land back on the beat after a fill though
My man got some natural rhythm! There’s not much that Paul can’t do musically. Genius in so many ways.
His hair is everything I need in life
Hahahaha this is EXACTLY what Dave Grohl described

I saw Paul in concert in Houston years ago on one of his Wings tours and eas amazed at how many different instruments that he could play and play well. The guy was born to be a musician. I never got the chance to see the Beatles in concert so it was a great moment to see Paul live even though I wasn't much of a Wings fan. The man is amazing.
*ringo starr has left the chat*

Alex Johnson tell ur friends
What do you mean, he’s playing a 4 4 best with simple fills... I could do this after my first month of drumming
The Duke Drummer sarcasm????
Paul was drummer on The Ballad of John and Yoko.
And Dear Prudence too.
Glidescube Although the drumming we hear in the released song is overdubbed by Ringo, you can hear the maccartney only drums in the guitar channel of the multitracks
NANI?!
And back in the ussr
@phillydisco You can see Paul play drums on mtv unplugged. It's rare case though
Not surprised. Paul played drums on more than a few Beatles tunes.
Paul played drums on Back in the USSR, Martha My Dear, Dear Prudence, and The Ballad of John and Yoko. He played all the instruments on his solo albums McCartney (1970) and McCartney II (1980), and does again on his upcoming release in December 2020 (McCartney III).
Wings did have a drummer named Denny Seiwell, but he backed out of the sessions for BOTR because he was too afraid to go to Lagos in Africa, where they were going to take place. Paul also did a lot of the drumming on 2005’s Chaos And Creation In The Backyard.
Wtf, he's actually pretty decent and has amazing groove when it comes to his fills!
Listen to Steve Miller’s “My Dark Hour.” Paul on drums (and backing vocals)
@@leiferickson5069 also listen to Paul on drums on "Sunday Rain" by the Foo Fighters
Ballad of John and Yoko . Paul plays drums
@Alicia en el Pais de las Maravillas dear prudence as well
He played Back In The USSR and Dear Prudence, but not Birthday.
idk whats better. Paul's hair or his drumming pocket. AMAZING!!!
He plays right handed drums very well.
Ringo radiates joy and giving when he plays. That is 99%.
Exactly as Dave Grohl described
McCartney played the drums in Back in the USSR and Martha My Dear! He's a real good drummer
it was in "Dear Prudence"
He played the drums for almost the entire songs on "White Album" during Ringo's brief absence
I think Ballad of John & Yoko too, but I could be wrong.
@@zachhaywood1564 No, you're right. He did play on the Ballad...
I know people are noting his drumming on a select few Beatles tracks but some are forgetting that he drummed on all of Band on the Run, parts of London Town, the first two McCartney albums, a few songs on Tug of War (like the title track and Ballroom dancing among others) and countless more, including recently Egypt Station and McCartney III. The man could drum!
The drums in Despite repeated warnings is so amazing
Paul also drummed on My Dark Hour for Steve Miller and Sunday Rain for the Foo Fighters
It's not about playing with perfect technique or playing really fast, it's about being able to create something original and beautiful. And Paul's got it.
odd amount of negativity on a beatles video
"macca got chops" shshjk this made my day
As a drummer of 12 years, all of the "better than ringo" comments just make me smh...
People who said that probably haven't even picked up the drum once
As a drummer of 23 years, ppl love to get unreasonably mad about Ringo and his playing. It's not the most advanced, but it always fit the songs, and his parts remain musical and memorable to this day.
i mean as a drummer of 12 years you should really notice the night and day difference in timing between the two. paul is rock solid here, where ringo was always kinda loose. not to discredit ringo's inventiveness and intuition in the slightest, but he never was all that great of a timekeeper.
m.ua-cam.com/video/BlVrnZFi5ZM/v-deo.html
@@fetishimo6208 i mean, drums are pretty heavy...
Ringo has left the chat
He actually played drums in the recording of his Band on the Run album as his drummer Sewell had quit before that
Paul also played drums on many other solo albums such as McCartney I, II, and III and others such as Flaming Pie and Chaos and Creation. He also drummed on My Dark Hour with Steve Miller, and with the Foo Fighters.
@@ewest14 also on beatles songs like back in the ussr, dear prudence and the ballad of john and yoko
I don't know jack about drumming, but I love it when he ends a fill just a bit later than you expect it to resolve.
It's called syncopation
The pocket is so loose and funky. I love it.
Paul was almost the drummer for The Beatles. Imagine that.
Edit: I'm not saying it would be a bad thing, just listen to him in this video! He's great, but Ringo was the best choice.
Even if so, I can listen to Back In The USSR & Dear Prudence for his drumming in The Beatles
I’ve never ever heard that before.
@Pete Jones he does most of it until the ending section, when it gets more triumphant sounding. If I remember correctly.
he realy is the total package
His drumming on the Ballad of John and Yoko really stands out for its quality. I thought to myself, Ringo sounds particularly good on this track, then I learned it was Paul. He’s a great guitarist, the best bass player who ever lived, and a really good drummer. Did I mention he sings a little bit, too?
He can tinkle the ivories also.... [plays piano] one man band.
The best bass player who ever lived???...is that a joke?

He drums on the Foo Fighters record so not surprised
He's way better than Lars
He's left-handed on bass and guitar but plays drums right-handed, very interesting.
I think he's naturally right handed, but bought his first guitar which he later discovered was a left hander, but never changed back to right handed guitars.
Eoghan Lyng I thought it was he was left but they frowned on left hander back then so he learned right
21 21 That was something Ringo said about himself in an interview. He was left-handed but his parents made him switch to right-handed. He says he does most things right-handed except playing the drums.
I am left handed and I do a lot of things like right handed people, simply because that's frequently more convenient.
I play guitar, bass and drums like a right handed person, because I would hate having to look for left handed instruments everywhere.
I even shoot guns with my right hand, because my shooting club almost never had any left handed guns so I eventually got tired of that and went "screw this, I get used to the right handed ones instead".
Eoghan Lyng wrong, he's a real left-handed. He writes with the left hand
Like Ringo. A lefty playing a right hand kit.
that lil fill in the beginning was so groovy. he’s a pretty guud drummer considering drums aren’t his main or first instrument.
I know he even played drums on songs like back in the ussr and old brown shoe
Guy is a musical genius, so talented
I am here, because i am looking for Paul McCartney playing drums with Foo Fighters video.
I second that

i do. lol
thedrummerboycr the interview about it is fuckin hilarious
If I reckon well, he recorded the drum tracks for Back in The USSR and Dear Prudence while Ringo was having a break
I believe also The Ballad of John and Yoko.
He's got great timing and feel.
Put the speed to 1.75 and you've got an awesome breakbeat sample
Macca always had such a sweet mullet
When I first heard Band on the Run album, I thought it was a greatest piece of work in that day. I always wondered who was the drummer? The drummer was so good! It was Paul!
His drumming on Band on the Run is much better than his drumming on his first album.
That final drum fill is pretty badass. Reggae Bonham?
Interesting that both Paul and Ringo are naturally left handed, yet play with drums with a right handed set up.
1.25x speed and it's Jazz Jackrabbit's menu theme
idk why but the intro sounded like a very specific site's intro to their videos...
Ummmm....
Listen to Toto - Roseanna. PH literally stole their intro from that groove.
This blew my mind. He’s so natural. Usually when an artist plays another instrument s/he’s stiff and forced. And those are great beats and fills! I’m a drummer btw.
Agreed - the groove runs deep in him for sure especially those crashes on the upbeats!
Words that speak the truth.
Ringo: GeT tHe FuCk Off My DrUmS
GhettoHouseinLA never knew ringo played a gresch... or a 5 piece 🙄
Actually the drums track on "back in the ussr" was filled by Paul because at that time Ringo was left the band temporarily.

@@patrickdevinelntervention2683// Two errors here

The drum part was John Paul and George. They were sharing parts because they cant fill a decent drum part.
He left the band BECAUSE of that Track. Paul was being a DICK to him and the drums in it SUCK.
Apparently Paul plays drums on the new Foo Fighters record.
SUCH FUCKING MILLENNIAL BULLSHIT!
mickavellian No it's true! He plays on one track.
You idiot ... TWO of the best drummers in the biz play on the Foo Fighters and Paul played drums on a song ? I would be embarrassed if I was Paul and they said "mon Paul play drums. 'Cause they would be just goofing on him. BOTH Ringo and Abe Laboriel Jr. have joked that Paul loves to "whack" at the drums . Laboriel mentioned Paul was a fun "sloppy" drummer. If there's one thing you do not want to be as a drummer is "SLOPPY"
Matthew Mwangi amazing
mickavellian Well it's a simpler song that's not hard at all. Plus they wouldn't have recorded it and put it out there if it was sloppy or it sounded bad. Just wait until the album drops, listen to it, and then you can say whether it was good or bad.
Paul is the coolest.
Paul was the best musician in the Beatles, no secret there, just like Brian Wilson was in the Beach Boyz, great music 😊
Beach Boyz To Men
Doesn’t mean he’s the best. Brian may is the best in queen. Doesn’t mean he’s the best does it. I’d say equal
of course, anyone doubt he couldn't? i remember back in my band days, we'd drink and smoke a few, and have jam sessions with everyone switching instrument. great fun.
Nothing better during a rehearsal. Everyone has a new respect when returning to their instrument. But great fun, and magic does happen. Out of limitation comes inspiration. Peace.
