What's wrong with licking your fingers? Peoples criticism over ridiculous things is out of control. Your skin dries out as you age you shouldn't have to apologize. I've been licking my fingers while sewing for 65 years and not stopping for anyone.
its not about criticism, with everything the way it is today, even if we take covid out of the question she is still licking her fingers and possibly taking in germs of other sorts, not to mention she then touches multiple things afterwards which then spreads whatever she may have. I am all for people being who they are and I would never change anything I do, but if I could prevent something I am gonna try. There are plenty of products that are sold to give the sticky finger effect.
I know Covid is bad but, I never had an issue of Jenny licking her fingers... I imagine her immune system is great. We all need a little bit of germs in our system to make us healthy... Sometime I wonder how the caveman survived. A great tutorial.. I was planning on making a Double Irish Chain quilt next but this quilt is stunning.

An utterly GORGEOUS quilt! Loved (!) seeing a UA-cam Quilter actually admit a boo-boo & pick it out. So reassuring for beginners -- tells them that yes, mistakes happen, & that we ALL make 'em!!! PS: I know what you mean about licking fingers: it dries them out & makes you vulnerable to cold/flu/covid/whatever germs you might have picked up. It's a habit I struggle with as well. :(
I love the black background! I appreciate seeing the "boo boo" seam 💜 I'm so new to quilting and I feel like I just keep making so many mistakes, but I am still learning and I find your videos so encouraging and inspiring, so thank you for helping me learn something new 💜

What a beautiful quilt. The black bg makes the flowers look like they are floating. I have been having trouble selecting a pattern for a quilt I need to make for my son's wedding in just under a month. I wanted to make a picnic quilt, put it in a basket with a note encouraging them to never stop dating. In another tutorial You mentioned that You gift picnic quilts to new couples and I thought it was perfect, so thank You. Now I have a great quilt pattern to make for them too. Keeping my rotary cutter in my hand like that and doing something else is how I knocked my finger yesterday with the rotary cutter! Lesson learned.
