On a personal note - I loved the name of this quilt. I made it a couple years ago for a family member that is serving time. It seemed to fit so well for when they are released, hoping they will find their "NorthStar". And I made it in greens, to remind them to continue growing as they held on to their own northern star. This one will always have a tender place in my heart. Thank you for your great tutorial. ❤
I used the 4 center squares to make a wall hanging in blues with a dark blue border. It is stunning and I get many compliments on it. Now I will make a baby quilt in desert colors.
I have been waiting for a reason to make this gorgeous quilt! I need a baby boy quilt and decided to make the 16 squares in the middle. I am so excited and can't wait to see how it turns out. Thanks for all of your amazingly creative ideas!
Love blue and white quilts. this is a must make for me. I made the Sticks & Stones quilt in blue and white and everyone loves it.Then I made a red and white Sticks and Stones for my 13 yr. old granddaughter.
oh my gosh i love Friday mornings because i get to see the new tutorials.. this one blew me away when i first saw it i so much want to make it with this fabric.. please get some back in soon i absolutely love blue as Jenny does.. once again thank you Jenny for all your hard work and teaching so many of us your skills!
Yes, I'm 2 years behind, but I had to say how much I love this! It's really majestic looking. I downloaded the measurements and videoed enough of the instructions to get the idea. I must make one of these! Thank you so much Jenny, love you and what you do.
I was so inspired that I really started! Now I have my 42 ( not 36) squares done with blue instead of white with a Kaffe Fasset Jelly roll and I can hardly wait to get it finished. I will do tie knots to finish it, thanks so much for your inspirations and that you ship to Germany!
What a clever quilt, and a twist on a traditional log cabin. I could see this in so many different colorways. A true go-to quilt for any Quilters library of patterns. 😊
Jenny you have done it again, love this quilt. I am hoping this will be in the bi monthly book that I buy from my patchwork shop over here in Australia. i wished I lived closer to you guys. Cheers
Thanks again for another great tutorial. I love this quilt and the colors are great. I am glad to see that I am not the only messy sewer. I have stuff everywhere!
This is stunning.....I love quilts like this! Thanks for all you do for the quilting world and I love the simplicity! That's great for our church guild because we have ladies at all skill levels!
Can you imagine it in an ombre? The middle could be the darkest of the shade you choose and it could radiate outwards from the center in a beautiful starburst! Love this pattern so much!
SmittKitten why aren't you making this quilt? I know it would be lovely and you would do a great job with this . Show us when you get done, post on Facebook. : ) : ] ♥♥ xoxo
I have two months to quilt this summer and with each video I find another one I want to make. But there is not enough time. I think though that this one will bump one of the others off my list I love quilts that have an illusion effect. Great use of precuts for those without a lot of cutting space. I loved your nest comment. I have a couple wooden TV tables that work for my nest, one gets a small cutting mat, the other an ironing surface and my smaller iron.
Your tutorials are absolutely excellent. You are an outstanding teacher. This quilt is just different enough to be eye catching yet still retain echoes of traditional quilts. With all that said you were in too much of a hurry to get this lesson crammed into a certain number of minutes. You seemed to be too rushed to have any fun with what you were doing and that's a huge part of the appeal of your tutorials. You are always enthusiastic about your projects. You are always joyful in your presentations. Today you seemed like you just wanted to get it over with. That short changed the beautiful quilt.
Beautiful. Four squares sewn together would make a great table topper, or sewing several in a row would make a nice table runner. Thanks for another great tutorial.
Great demonstration of this very attractive quilt for the guys I’d like to make quilts for in the family. This would be perfect for one of my brothers, who happens to have blue eyes. I love this colorway with the London Fog batik. Thanks for making the video.
Love this.. another beautiful quilt by Missouri Star Quilts. I love how it looks like flying geese in there too. Love the blue and white. I made your courthouse steps quilt in blues and white and it's beautiful too.
As usual, you come up with what looks beautiful, but complicated, then show us it is as easy as it is pretty. Love the way your brain works ... and those that work with/for you. This pattern could be for a man or women and for kids.
Ann Coombs Scotland Definitely will be making this one , Jenny, after I've done about the other dozen or so of yours I have in mind to do! Do so love all your tutorials, wish I was able to visit your shop bu twill content myself with ordering online.
Sorry for the English, I had to use the goolgle translator. I'm Brazilian and I love his work, I'm a beginner in patchwork and even though I do not speak English I understand how to build the blocks. You teach very well.
Oh my gosh! You've done it again, Jenny! That is such a visually interesting quilt yet it's not horribly difficult. I just love you, you have no idea what a difference you've made in my quilting life and my life in general. I suffered an awful accident about 5 years ago and I've been having surgeries to put me back together. My first surgery was to stabilize my neck so I had a 3 level fusion and during my recovery I discovered you. I couldn't do anything, including sitting in front of a computer, so my husband bought me a tablet. Boy did I use that thing, I was glued to your tutorials. 😄 You got me through that and my next surgery to fix my right arm, rotator cuff surgery. And finally my latest surgeries.... I had 2 major back surgeries 2 days apart about 90 days ago. This recovery can take a year. I still have my other shoulder to get fixed but I can only concentrate on one body part at a time. What happened to me? A mirror, about the size of a queen sized bed pillow fell on my head. The frame of the mirror was over 2" thick and made from concrete. 🤤I had a TBI that took a long time to recover from, I still have my moments and when you say you are directionally challenged, I know exactly what you mean. I could barely think or talk straight, I've come a LONG way, I lost my career but I found YOU. You may not realize what a difference you make in people's lives, but believe me, you've saved mine. Thank you for being you. Love, Sharon from Michigan. ❤️💛💚💙💖
Wow, what a traumatic thing to happen to you. You seem to have a positive attitude an that will help you to recover faster. I'm disabled and my husband bought me a tablet before he passed away to try to teach me how to do things on a computer. My generation didn't grow up with computers so I didn't really want to use it. But I'm glad he pushed me. I found UA-cam and found Jenny. She's always so fun and upbeat. I wish you well on your recovery, Gale from Illinois
Sharon, what inspiration you are! I love Jenny as well, I love trying to make het quilts and have succeeded wirh most. I love this quilt and will give it a go. Love from Australia
Sharon Martin bless your heart! Quilting is a therapeutic activity. I’m so glad it’s helped you. Agree, there’s something really special about Jenny. She’s like every gals “favorite neighbor lady”. Hoping you have continued healing and nothing but better days ahead. xoxo from Colorado!
Thank you all for inspriring us. May you all be blessed with recovery! Jenny is just gorgeous and has so many great quilting ideas. Have fun learning and growing. Cheers from Australia as well.
Wow, Sharon! You have been through so much! We are so proud of you for all that you have recovered from and are so thankful that you are okay! It brings us all great joy to know that the hard work that is put in at Missouri Star Quilt Co. really does help encourage people. Not only to quilt and create things but to just keep going in general. I will make sure that Jenny sees your message. We wish you well and pray for fast recoveries! Stay positive! With love, the MSQC Family!
I highly recommend cutting all your fabric first on this one. The blocks can get wonky quickly and having the strips already cut helps catch that before it’s too late. Still love love love this pattern!
Have you ever considered making UA-cam playlists by type of precut? Like a Jelly Roll playlist, or layer cake playlist? That way when we get one we can browse the potential MSQC options! 😀
Hi, Jennifer! Thanks for the great suggestion! We actually do have something like this. You can find the playlists on the left side of our UA-cam page. Please let us know if you have anymore questions or concerns about this.
I get all excited when I see you have a new video out. There is no way I can make (or store) all the quilts I want to make, so I have decided that all quilts I will be making and not keeping will be made in red, white and blue for QOV or Wounded Warrior quilts. Thanks for another great video of a unique quilt.
Marcelle Speake I am going to start using some of the easiest ones for charity quilts; as soon as I get settled into my new home. I’ll have to make my own strips and squares because I came into the stash of a former quilter who had a business for 25 years.
I've got to try this one. Jenny, as you were explaining the "how to" my mind kept thinking "chain piecing, chain piecing." Would it alter the quilt outcome to chain piece all like-kind sewing pieces before moving onto adding the next piece? I'd like to see you expand on this tutorial and go a little slower next time and show exactly how you sewed each new row. I'm a beginner old person and it probably takes me longer to absorb than people who have been quilting for years. Thank you, Jenny, for helping to make my last few years memorable, not just for me, but for others who have benefited from my new hobby.
Hi Jenny, just saw your Forbes video of 5/22. Have you done a video on the lovely quilt you show on 4:54? People are asking about it. Congratulations on your family business, and thank you for all I have learned watching you over the years.
This block could be great for a flower quilt. Use green for the last border for the block, and a graduation of colour into the middle of the flower. Sew the blocks en point.
What a wonderful idea, Maghouin. I agree, putting blocks on point just adds such a "Wow" factor to a quilt, doesn't it? And makes it look so much more difficult to make than it was. My favourite type of design. Thanks for the inspiration! ~Diana
I made one like what you describe (minus the green), Maghouin. It turned out so precious and I gave it to my granddaughter when she was born. I always thought putting blocks on point was so hard, but with the quilt I made, I found out just how easy it really is!
That is gorgeous! Jenny where do you get your ideas from? Love the color combinations! You make me just want to sew quilts all day long and do nothing else! Thank you!
Fall 2018, Volume 5, Issue 5 -- I was very happy to find the pattern in this edition of the Block of the Month Magazine today! I also love it and will be making it next!!
Absolutely beautiful quilt, Jenny! I love the batiks. Thank you for sharing this with us ❤️

Chain piecing for sure. Thank you again for another beautiful quilt.

looks like the quilt is blooming from the center out - gorgeous!
Sharon, your story is truly inspirational. I wish you best wishes and good luck for a good recovery. From England. X
Oh my goodness Jenny!!! How awesome is this quilt. Thank you so very much for continuing to inspire my sewing and quilting. Love, love, love it.
Blue and batik, it doesn’t get any better than that. This is next on my list to make. Thank you for the inspiration.
Can you imagine it in an ombre? The middle could be the darkest of the shade you choose and it could radiate outwards from the center in a beautiful starburst! Love this pattern so much!
SmittenKitten I don’t know for sure but they probably make these ahead of time.
That's exactly what I intend to do with the oranges and pinks.
That's going to be BEAUTIFUL, Joyce!
SmittKitten why aren't you making this quilt? I know it would be lovely and you would do a great job with this . Show us when you get done, post on Facebook. : ) : ] ♥♥ xoxo

Sooo inspiring Jenny ,I can't wait each week for the next pattern ,hi from Western Australia.
BEAUTIFUL quilt!!!!! I will definitely try this one. Looks like a fully bloomed magnolia. Hmmm, maybe a gardenia.
Sew happy to see a lefty like me that still uses scissors on the right hand! Love these tutorials!
That is a very interesting block because of the different ways it can be laid out. Thanks
Love, Love, LOVE the colors!!!!
I absolutely love this quilt! I think I will be making one. Thank you so much for making things look so easy.

This is a beauty! Thank you so much for your generous weekly videos.
Beautiful. Four squares sewn together would make a great table topper, or sewing several in a row would make a nice table runner. Thanks for another great tutorial.
Great ideas! We can't wait to see what you come up with!
Absolutely wonderful Jenny! Thank you! I can no wait to do something with that design.

Wow! At first I thought every strip was a different size, since it looks like it goes from "small to big". Gorgeous quilt Jenny! :)
Thankyou for sharing this beautiful quilt Jenny. I am definately making this quilt, love it!
Beautiful! I don’t have enough time to catch up with the gigantic list of quilts that you inspired me to make.
wow, beautiful quilt! Looks almost like a big Maze
Love this.. another beautiful quilt by Missouri Star Quilts.
I love how it looks like flying geese in there too.
Love the blue and white. I made your courthouse steps quilt in blues and white and it's beautiful too.
I love it, but looks a little labor intensive. Must try to make it.
