Natalie, as a long-term MSQC fan, I love seeing the progression that you have made over the months and years. You have blossomed into an experienced video teacher!
Natalie, you have the same gift as your mom -- a friendly, calm voice that is like having a friend in my sewing room. Thank you for the continued tutorials, tips, and positivity. You've been friends in my sewing space for so many years now; I've been here since the very beginning!!! And you gals have talked me thru making all my quilting dreams come true!!! Stay warm and cozy, friends. ❤
Hey.Natalie! I really appreciate seeing pattern made from fat quarters. I’d appreciate seeing more of these! This is a perfect example of a quilt that looks complex, but is made up of basic blocks. As always, you demonstrate great techniques with clear explanations. Thank you, and stay well! Muskoka ON 🇨🇦
I read a book from Lucy Maud Montgomery, the blue castle and there is an island named muskoka. From Normandie, that name made me dream so much. Love, from France
Criss-cross Applesauce is so appropriate for your gently soft colored quilt, Natalie. Love your presentations! Thanks for sharing your experience & knowledge. Even if I don’t make the project, I learn so much. Plus, sometimes I just watch to be entertained. :-). Love you!
Place the fabrics right side together and press them before you cut, will hold them together and you'll be ready for sewing. Flannel loves to stick together.
What a beautiful quilt. I’m glad you’re showing a quilt using a fat quarter bundle. I have so many but often struggle with knowing what quilt pattern to use. I hope you’ll do more like this in the future. Natalie, you are a wonderful teacher.
I love the quilt Natalie. Your presentation is excellent and your tone of voice is so soothing. I’m in the UK and love it when Friday mornings come around. Keep up the great work Natalie.
Natalie - You've made so much progress in the past few months - more self confidence, no nerves, calm demeanor. No need for extraneous chit chat fillers. The transformation has been profound. Great job!
Natalie, you did an awesome job with this tutorial today. I have one helpful hint for you regarding the statement you made about a lot of bulk under your needle and sometimes getting stuck in the process. On a tutorial a few months ago, your mother told us about conquering this problem with using a single hole thread plate so that the corners don’t get sucked down and bunched up. I now use that single hole throat plate when I’m doing my quilting and it has been a game changer for me. So if your machine has a single hole throw plate, you might want to try that next time. Thank you for the tutorial!
A pretty, soft quilt, Natalie. I'm usually a bold colorways person, but this is so cozy. I, too, like working with flannels, and I will definitely clean my machine afterward!
What a fun, fun project! AND NATALIE girl so appreciate your teaching! You are blooming. Love all your tips and tricks you share along the way. Would love to see this in some crazy Kaffe or black/white cottons....
Nathalie, you have really made a beautiful quilt! I love to work with flannel. Your presention was very nice to look at and you explain it perfectly! Thank you so much! 😀🪡
Thank you Natalie. Great tutorial with lots of helpful tips. You have a gentle and relaxing presence and are enjoyable to watch and learn from. Beautiful quilt and fabrics. I love the muted, soft tones.
When I’m working with pairs of far quarters, I iron them right sides facing, then sub cut them. They stay together nicer, and it saves having to flip them over individually. Love this pattern!
Natalie, you knocked it out of the park with this one! I love the muted colors-I usually go for brighter colors and high contrast in quilts I make. Did you use a bigger needle since you're sewing flannel?
I used a different flannel line from your collections back in the fall and made my daughter and husband a quilt for their trailer. I enjoyed working with the flannel. I used the 5 inch square precuts and made the centre on point following one of Jenny's tutorials when she made an on point picnic quilt. Easy to sew, not too much bulk. Gets a little heavy once it was quilted but I'm sure it will be cozy warm when they do some winter camping. Don't forget to give your machine a good cleaning afterwards! Thanks for the tip on shrinkage Natalie, was wondering about that. Great job with your tutorial, your a great teacher. Watching from Ontario, Canada.
Thank you Natalie. Beautiful quilt. I can feel the comfort of the flannel. Good Job. I enjoy your soft calming voice. I like that you show and talk about differs ways to make a difference quilt with the same block.
Love this video and this pattern love making quilts with flannel and so happy to see some really nice quilts using flannel instead of always the loved rag quilts which I have made oodles of,those lol
The colour choice for this quilt is so lovely and soft. I do like a good low volume quilt. Also, truly enjoying watching you gain confidence as a tutor and presenter in your own right, you are so much more brave than me, and deservedly so. Thankyou for sharing your talent. Hugs, Chel 🌸
great teaching ❤! patient calming voice with a pace that is easy to follow and work at the same time. Pretty colors in this quilt, but, I’d love to see a mock-up or another quilt with different colors too❤
aww Natalie, you are wonderful, you really are evolving with your tutorials, it is so soothing listening to you, your pace is wonderful and it really is a very similar style to your lovely mother....so pleased you are with us
I like the subtle woven look of the pattern. I’d probably want to add another row on the right, to center the design. I like things to be balanced. 😝 But it’s really pretty. ❤
Tips to prevent the fabric from being sucked down into the throat plate. Take off the fix stitch when starting. That can cause issues. Double over a rectangle of fabric 2x4. Start sewing in the center of the fabric (flag) with a 2.0 stitch length. When the needle comes down at the edge of the flag, chain your pieces by butting up the next piece to the needle. When ending, sew onto the flag. Clip thread and leave the flag under the pressure foot.❤ You will have many of these little flags if you do a large quilt. Totally agree about cutting with the right sides together.
Natalie, I love watching you. Thank you for another great quilt pattern demonstration. Your pace is perfect and you are easy to follow and understand. Your love of quilting shines through you. Keep up the tremendous work!
I always love the quilts you make. They are so special and represent your great creativity. And you are a wonderful teacher. You always stay calm and seem to be so relaxed on camera - you are truly a natural.
Beijos a todas ❤
This would be a great baby floor quilt. Your "stage presence" is great. You are a joy to watch!
Looks a lot more complicated than being a one block quilt. Thank you!
Hi, What is up with your iron??? After she presses with the iron it go up??? ❤❤❤😂
@nancygarner4721 it's made to go up. I don't remember the name but they sell it on their site.

I agree. Definitely would love to see more tutorials using fat quarter bundles.

Natalie, the pace of this demonstration was just right. I didn't feel rushed and it allowed me to think while you were working. Well done. Thank you.
Beautiful quilt! It’s so nice to see Natalie so relaxed on her own tutorial. Loved the episode with her daughter too!

The colors are fabulous! Thank you for a great video Natalie. You are making your Mama proud I am sure.
I love that your tutorials focus on the quilts (+tips/tricks!) not on selling me a bunch of notions !!
It's FLANNEL!!! And it's beautiful!❤❤

I noticed her machine has the foot assist that Pfaff introduced (IDT). Agree with single hole plate, and that assist works great.
Natalie, I really like watching you. You're enthusiastic and happy 😊. Nice job.
