When scaling up do you add everything single truck to your insurance or you go with what the companies are offering and keep one truck to your normal insurance?
I’m leasing on to a dot number. All the truck expenses are mines. Rent, insurance etc.. also I’ll be picking my own loads. What’s a good percentage to use dot number?
I am currently leasing under a company, have been doing fairly well, most companies charge 10-15% Some companies will not let you dispatch yourself, you can but some value their reputation too much. I pay 15% with dispatch and factoring. The guy is very knowledgeable and I am always paid.
Hey I’m at the point of getting my insurance & the prices are really high in my name from my driving record. My wife’s name is on the company as well & she gets a way cheaper rate . Would you know if it’s possible if I could drive the box truck even though it’s under her name ?????? I do not want to put myself in a bad predicament any info would help thank you !!
Im looking to get into this business myself so I don't have a truck but I've seen some videos, of a sleeper that they sell that goes over the cab and others where they cut into the cab and box truck and build a 3 to 4 ft sleeper inside the box. I like this idea but you loose box space.
