- Hey all,
Vevor sent me over this wonderful weather station. I am super impressed with it. What a great tool to use and know exactly what the weather is doing outside. I can't say enough how important it is knowing the weather as a Beekeeper.

The cost with the link shared right now is $90.99. What a great price for a weather station. I have had it running for 2 weeks solid and it has withstood negative temps, wind gusts of 40+mph without issue. Definitely check it out if you are in the market for a weather station.
Eli doesn't care about the cold weather! Quick but thorough review. Thanks.
Yeah, he wants to run straight to the fields and sniff everything. I'd freeze if I let him have his way. Thanks for watching.
Hi concenring the Barometer, I do not see the possibility to insert the Altitude to calibrate the relative pressure ( I' m at 430 meters). On my old weather station I had the possibility to insert the altitude. Do you know how can I correct the relative pressure value? Thanks
@@r.digirolamo3839 Good question. I'm not sure. You'd have to reach out to Vevor for that information.
I've been wanting a weather station for over 20 years. Maybe now....
It really is a decent unit. Now, only time will tell how long it will last, but so far, I'm impressed.
@@CastleHives it came today!
Wish I had a weather station to review!! LOL!! Thanks Brian!
LOL. .
I like it. Lots of useful info.
I believe they have it for $90 right now also. So for the price, it is a fantastic unit. I've had it running for 2 weeks and it has held up fine. We've had negative temps and also wind in excess of 40+ mph.
That's awesome man.@@CastleHives
I’m gonna need to get me one of these!!!! Great review sir!!!!
It's a great unit. Only time will tell how long it lasts, but I'm impressed so far.
Thanks for video - do you know how long the display will run on batteries only?
I'm not sure how long it would last.
Hi, this weather station is very interesting. Is it possible to bring information into a web space, into one's own web page?
I know you can register the device. Let me do some research and let you know. I believe you can.
I just got one, but I can’t seem to get the ball tight on it. It’s just the 4 big bolts, right? It’s so loose that I feel like the wind will make it unlevel.
What bolts came with it, were it yes.
Looks great!
It is definitely a great unit for the price.
I was going to ask if you need a wifi booster for the unit to connect but I seen where you said you were 75 feet with no connection issues. I may give it a try.
I was worried about that at first and just decided to put it on the farthest post. The signal is still strong. I bet I could take it out 100 feet easily.
is there a software to get the data directly from the weather station excluding the use of wunderground or weathercloud?
I want to get the data into a personal data base in Linux or win.
I'm not sure. I did not connect mine to either of those services or share the location.
Thx for the review.
Thanks for watching.
Brian m;y pastor has one of those, loves it.
That's awesome.
OK, so you get all that weather data but how do you use it to manage bees?
Beekeepers, at least in my area, pay close attention to the weather and react accordingly. IE: Last week, we broke 50, so I went to treat my colonies. In the fall, Temps get close to 34 or 35 and I pull syrup off. What I've learned through the years is the weather from the news isn't accurate , so having this gives me a closer eye on tasks I need to do. Hope this helps.
Good review.. I am a local weather junky. Just may need to review this and get on. Also did you see my email I sent you?
Thanks, and I did not. Send it again and I'll look. It might have gone to my spam folder.
@@CastleHives just send it again
@@Robbie-Rob_Bees_Apiary I dont see it. Are you sending to brian dot koper @ gmail?
@@CastleHives sent one more time. I bet I makes it this time. brain / brian what's the difference. lol
Do the batteries charge in monitor when you plug into ac? Tia
The batteries outside or inside? The outside unit is powered by solar. The inside unit plug in, and I have not checked the batteries as we keep it plugged in.
@@CastleHives I thought it was quite clear. The “monitor “is generally inside. Found a better w/s where the monitor has its own built lithium batteries can run for 20hrs no ac then recharges when reconnected. Vevor have dropped the ball on this feature although it has dc but not rechargeable. Two stars only.
Hi how can you clean inside rain gauge as they do get dirty "dust" or spider web etc
You could disassemble the unit and easily clean it out. I will most likely leave it in place, take a screwdriver, and clean it on the post.
@@CastleHives Thank you, and i have already order it to replace my old 12 years weather station WS1-WS3
Easy with dressing for the arctic Brian it was chilly day dude 🇨🇦❤
We were below 0, so that was cold to me. Lol
@@CastleHives ok nippy
@LIL-RED-BIRD lol. . It's the wind chill out there that gets bad. We are at the end of a field where we always have wind. This winter, we hit -20f, so that was cold. It's been mild though.
@@CastleHives I feel you we are on the western crest of a hill with no wind break to the horizon any breeze cuts right through you, wind chills into the -40s is common. I’ve put up a windbreak for the bees to keep them protected.
Just busting your chops lol
@@LIL-RED-BIRD yeah. It's all.good. I can take it.
Can you download the data into a csv file oe Excel file?
Great question. I'll check and let you know.
how far from house will the signal reach ?
Mine is a good 75 or so feet away and still has great reception.
Vevor discount sales code wasn't valid.
I can message them and check why.
I already bought one. It was $98.00.
@@CentralCoastBeeMan Ok. I have an email out to them.
Nice placement! No wonder your getting a better wind reading than me. I am gonna move mine soon!
That post is out in the yard and the end of a field, so it gets wind all the time.
Nice built but totally useless; It's manual came with no "real" set-up instructions and adjustments.. Do not buy, save your money and buy a real weather station...
Mine came with everything I needed to get it up and running. To this date, I have had no issues with it.
As much as I don’t like Vevor, I’m a registered customer due to buying the thermal camera. That unit you have there can’t be worse than acurite. Acurite is garbage, Garbage, garbage. If you buy acurite, you’ve bought garbage. So I’m willing to try this unit over buying garbage. Oh wait, acurite is actually overpriced garbage..my bad.
Hah. . I've wanted a unit for some time and this popped up. So far it has worked really well. I'm happy with it. It was super easy to set up, no tools needed, and within minutes I was seeing data. I have the unit about 75 feet away from the display and have not once had connection issues. Overall, for $91, I think the unit is great. You can calibrate it as well, so if the sensors are off, you can fix it.
@@CastleHives that’s all the same as with acurite as far as features, but the acurite has a few less and costs over $150!! And it lasted about 2.5 years for me……..just stopped registering not long after the rain gauge quit.
I'd be curious how one of these would do in your area with the storms you get.
@mikebarrybees Thinking about a thermal, it sounds like you wouldn't recommend the one that you have?
@@stevenaamos Now, when you're world famous your standards are a bit higher than others. . Just remember that. LOL
