I got one this past Christmas,, got the wireless and not the wifi,, set it up in no time,, really love this thing,, I'm kind of a 68 old tech geek! really nice unit ..
We got one several weeks ago. Have it set up on fence post. Didn't take my husband very long to set up. He lives gadgets. Replaced one we had for more than 16 years.
You might have a problem with your rainfall measurements being accurate if you get a 4-5+Inches of snowfall, especially if you have a strong wind with it. Also the wind speed and direction if it freezes and the parts get frozen in place. I have a Ambient weather station which I have using for 2 years, added a lightning detector and a separate wireless temperature probe which I have in one of my beehives in the brood box so i can monitor the internal temperature of the colony. It has been working great so far.
Snow Update....i live in So. Ariz. And were lucky to get just a couple of inches of snow at one time. We do get freezing temps. So if it rains and freezes overnight then the rainfall and wind speed/direction can freeze, but here it doesn't last long. As for the wireless temperature probe in the one beehive, it works very well, i can tell when the bees cluster moves as the temperature will change. @@JCsBees
For me, knowing even the barometric pressure is handy. Storms on the way, I leave my Bees alone. Also, certain treatments can only be done in specific temperatures, so it is handy for that.
@slava I am about 50 miles from the closest news channel in a very rural area and a lot of the time the predicted weather is different than what the weather mans says. Having the weather station allows me to knw exactly how much rain we got, or how hard the wind is blowing. As a farmer, all of this information is handy. I'm sure you've heard a predicted rainfall and wondered if that's really the amount you got in your area, this device takes the guess work out. I now find myself comparing the predicted weather to what I actually get.
@@JCsBees Vevor replied to me and said display will go 12 months on batteries, but you can’t run WiFi on batteries only mode and display dims after 15 seconds.
I got mine yesterday and with both the 7in1 and the monitor next to each other inside, there is a 1.1 degree difference. Is there a way to calibrate it?
@@FamKeijsers Snooped around in my Android Play Store and found a app called 'Weather Station' that uses location services to connect to the nearest weather station to display and chart in nice graphics all the same data. When I'm home it connects to my station. Now I'm struggling to figure out the correct setting for the barometer's altitude setting. The guide isn't very intuitive.

Thanks for sharing! Glad your happy with the new device! I love mine, too!

That's awesome! I know I love the one I have!
Thanks, not a bad price.
Hey Joe! Nice to see you in the comments. With the discount code in the description you can save a few bucks, too!

Good points! I have BroodMinder sensors to check my bees and they work very well!

I've been wanting a weather station. This one looks like it would do the job.
I've had it for a month and love it. Thinking about retiring my weather rock. 🤣🤣
@@JCsBees hahaha.. poor weather rock.
Your welcome to it, if you want it. It never let me down. 😆
2:42 This is opposite if you are in the southern hemisphere. Solar panel faces North.
any complaints about this weather station during this 10 months ?
My only complaint is not getting one sooner. I love being able to monitor the weather myself.
Never had any luck with the weather stations even the big named brands.
This one was super easy to setup and is working great now that I calibrated it.
How will you use the information from your weather station for keeping bees or gardening? So you get all of this information but what good is it for?

Hi thanks for video. Do you know how long the display will run on batteries only?
Hello. I do not know how long the battery last but I will say the solar panel has kept it charged with no down time since I set it up.
@@JCsBees Thx - I was asking about the display, not the weather station itself.
Oh, I'm sorry. That I have plugged in and not running on the batteries but batteries is an option.

Question: does the rain cup have to be emptied manually? And does this mean I need to mount the weather station within arms reach?
No. The rain cup has a hole in the bottom so it empties itself. I love this weather station!!
@@JCsBees Thank you for the reply

Yes, the manual breakdown calibrating. Good luck!!
@@JCsBees That was helpful!
What is rhe max wine speed it can handle
is there a significance between facing north vs. magnetic north?
I am not sure to be honest with you. I just set mine to North using a compass.
Thank you J C for your Honesty.
Wondering if it has a app for smartphones to connect to it's WIFI to display readings on app?
It does not but via website you can see stats in your browser

For bees
It's not necessarily for bees but does help the beekeeper know the weather. 😉
