You should talk about the founder. He was smart as hell and had a very sad fate. They kicked him out of his own company because he called them out for financial fraud. Then he got so depressed , he lost everything he worked for and killed himself. Wouldnt have all these amazing products without him
@@Soulstice1319 Its more complicated than that, there was accusations of racism and severe mental health issues. He wasn't kicked out, minority investors took him to court to be removed before he shut everything down
@Soulstice he most definitely was kicked out of his own company. He almost blew the lid off a billion dollar industry. Companies like Estee Lauder charging $80+ for products, where as his company charges much cheaper prices. There is always more to the story but at the end of the day,we should be giving this man credit for starting THIS company and HIS products. He was the visionary behind it all. i love the ordinary bc they are basically saying poorer people deserve to feel good in their skin as well, which a lot of brands cannot claim they say.
OMG THANK YOU!!!!! I literally felt the same way and when I bought their entire collection (😅whoops🤷♀️) I was soooooo pleased with what it did to my skin
The fact that he takes price, results, ethics, and the environmental impact of the product before he recommends it is just all the reason to trust him with your skin. You know he's not bullshitting you, he's trying to help you while helping the environment at the same time.
Here's the time stamps for the products 2:46 Glycolic toning solution 4:38 Lactic acid 10% + HA 5:39 Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 6:38 AHA 30% + BHA 2% solution
I think their products’ complicated names kind of encourage people to do their research about the benefits and concerns instead of just grabbing a glitzy product off the shelf.
Real Mexican Food Shouldn't Give You Diarrhea True. It’s made me more savvy to skincare. Learning what ingredients work and what to look for, and knowing that a product is just overpriced floral water and mineral oil. I use 3 actives. -Tretinoin -TO’s Glycolic Acid Toner x2 a week -VitC powder mixed into serum every morning And TO’s HA serum, Amino Acids and NMF. That’s it. I don’t need anything else. And it’s doesn’t break the bank.
Real Mexican Food Shouldn't Give You Diarrhea or put glycolic acid on their face before going to bed, or relying solely on reviews (UA-cam or written), which is not great at all.
Maybe for some. Other people just skim over the descriptions on their website and buy a bunch of products because they're so inexpensive, then start using them all at once.

I’m a skin specialist and cosmetic chemist and can tell you I highly recommend The ordinary . The ingredients and formulas are brilliant and contain everything beneficial for skin .
Random question: Can they compare to luxury brands? As someone who does have disposable income it's very frustrating when people say "you can't compare," because what I want to know is are they a good product overall or are they a good product just in their price range. Should I invest in these expensive products or do is the reality that they aren't better or only marginally better than a cheaper competitor. If the difference is significant then I find no issue investing $45 or $75 dollars, but if its marginal then I'll opt for the cheaper brand. I don't care about the exclusivity or luxury.
Alexa Raven the cosmetic chemist who started The Ordinary was sick of luxury brands charging ridiculous amounts for products with ingredients that are either useless or not meant to cost that much . You don’t need a lot of stuff on your skin . Luxury brands are just that because they spend big on marketing and packaging . So yes it’s just as good infact in my opinion much better
@@mrknight7957 Thanks! I'm aware of their mission, which is what attracted me to the brand. I'll definitely give them a shot after I finish up my current products after the holidays :)
It’s crazy how much money companies can make just by putting less effort into getting popular and putting more effort into being transparent, The ordinary is good at that
its crazy how many people will ignore them just b/c their so much cheaper i walked into a jam packed sephora one day and there wasnt a single person in the ordinary section
This is a weird comment, but I also like how their packaging is so gender-neutral. A lot of guys tend to avoid "skincare" because it seems so feminine with the pink packaging, and smelling like flowers and stuff. Like, it's not even that it threatens masculinity or "looks gay" or whatever. It's just the branding seems very exclusive for women. When the package is more pink and flowery than a box of tampons, a man is generally just going to overlook it, because the marketing says "this is not for you". I really appreciate how the Ordinary doesn't market itself as "turning you into a beautiful woman", but instead as just providing good cosmetic care to your skin no matter who you are.
True story. I remember many years ago my brother made me pick up a face mask for him. I said "why can't you buy it yourself?" He then protested that the (tiny) bow on the lid meant that it was for females. And he didn't wanna come across a certain way buying it. Back then I laughed and said that is ridiculous, just go and buy it, but he didn't; I ended up buying for him instead. I forgot about that, until I saw your comment and got reminded about it.
@@jessiepolana800 Honey. You have no idea who you're talking to, first of all. Don't come at me talking about what "men" think. I even explicitly said that it's not about fragile masculinity. Who said it was embarrassing? I'm just saying I usually just overlook it. I've genuinely confused certain skincare products with makeup before, because it just looks like it's for making your appearance look more feminine, which is not the style I'm going for. Like, for instance, women can shave with the same razors men can. In fact, it's often the same razor but cheaper. But most women look for the razors that are marketed to women. Is it because it's "embarrassing" to be masculine? No. It's just because it's not marketing that's very welcoming to what you're intending to do. Way to take a perfectly positive comment about gender-neutral marketing and twist it, Angelina
3:59 Rose flower water comes from steam distillation of roses in water, there is no alcohol in the process, and it has been used for centuries in skincare because it has antioxidant and antimicrobial properties (and therefore used against acne). So even if it has a scent, I think it was used in the formula for its properties not as a fragrance.

So apparently The Ordinary has stopped selling the Salicylic Acid solution due to those reformulation complaints and is currently fixing it so it's at least nice that they're listening to customers. Edit: The Inkey List has a Salicylic Acid 2% for sale if you need to fill the void!
It’s very considerate, I very much agree with that. But, they’ve been working on that for months if not a year now. I am obsessed with it and have noticed people selling it for 5x the price on eBay which sucks
Wow, didn't know they stopped the salicylic acid, from your comments, looks like it was too strong , potent, so are the reformulating it, I love salicylic acid, it gets the job done!!!
the glycolid acid toner actually worked great for my skin. i was weary because ppl said it stung and i have extremely sensitive skin but there was no stinging or burning or irritation on my skin. i use it once a week and its literally done more for my skin than any of the extremely expensive skin care products have ever done. my skin is soft, bright, even and my hyperpigmentation is reducing too! i defs dont recommend people using it more than 1-2 times per week tho as it is an exfoliating toner and you shouldn't exfoliate your skin every day.
I just got the glyclolic acid today and I normally just start my skin care with rose water & clean and clear saliclic acid how do I introduce it into my skin without it buring?
@@Grace-go4tbplease be careful when using salicylic acid in the same routine as glucolic. I started using The Ordinary skincare products and in just one week I couldn't believe the results. My skin feels buffed, my pores reduced in size and I have less shine. I am very satisfied with this product and won't hesitate to recommend it to anyone...
I use the Salicylic Acid 2% Masque once a week, the Niacinamide 10%+ zinc 1%, day and night after cleansing, the Granactive Retinoid 5% in Squalane at night and finally the Natural Moisturizing Factors +HA. This last one is a moisturizer which I use after I've applied everything else. These products have helped in making my acne heal quickly in comparison to when I wasn't using them.

Let’s hope he doesn’t. He spreads a lot of wrong information in this video and in many others. He is an enthusiast and has a great character but he doesn’t understand anything about chemistry.
@@Elodie2023 Several things. He said rose water is an essential oil. And basically everything that got to do with acid. He said his least favorite was their Glycolic Acid because it has a pH of 3.6 He then admits he doesn't understand chemistry (duh). Acids have a low pH. If the pH was any higher, the acid neutralizes, it is literally no longer an acid, and won't do anything on your face. Any Glycolic he's using is likely in the 3.6 pH range, and he says the pH is why he burned. NO. He burned because it's a 7% concentration Glycolic, and he's likely using lower concentrations. He also disliked the Pixi Glow Tonic for having sodium hydroxide as a second ingredient behind glycolic acid and said it would strip your skin like a harsh alcohol. Which is wrong with glycolic acid as the first ingredient you better need some NaOH there to buffer it or you’d be burned to a crisp. He also criticized people for using essential oils when the person used something with a carrier oil (even certified dermatologists etc. commented that several times that this is not a problem). And many other things. I can’t remember everything and I don’t watch every of his videos but I feel like under every second video of his you will see people commenting that X or Y he say is wrong. He is not a specialist just an enthusiast.
@@Elodie2023 I’d hope so too. I love his character and positive energy and I’d like to think he would try his best (and realize when he needs professional help and also get good help this is another point) but... well reality often teaches you that things don’t go as you hope.
I'm becoming a The Ordinary junkie. 😍 They're freaking perfect. They have AMAZING prices & I freaking love that shopping for their products forces you to learn about the science of skin care. On their website, you can't just get a product that says 'Dark Spot Corrector' or 'Fine Line Smoother.' You have to actually learn the scientific names of ingredients in skin care & what they do. I just started a skin care routine other than cleanser, moisturizing oil, & an occasional mask at 31, so I am now really into serums. I started using their Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% & their Retinol 0.5% in Squalane. I have their AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution, but I have not tried it yet.
The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% serum is the one product that that actually was a gateway for me to get into skincare. Because of how big of a difference it made for my skin and also since I got interested to start understanding the ingredients, same as you say ❤ Skincare is now my one biggest interest 🥰
You should make a series for your subscribers skincare, like we tell you our skin type, what we’re struggling with, and what our goals are; and you give us a skin care routine. Ik it’s asking a lot but some of us can’t afford to go to a dermatologist and UA-cam is the best we have.
You didn't mention this, but why they are my favorites also is because they're cruelty free! Eveyone should pay a attention to brands that are cruelty free, and not those brands where animals suffered for absolutely no reason at all.
samantha kluin So true. I moved to Japan where virtually no cruelty- free cosmetics are being sold in normal stores. Since I have shop online anyway I started using mostly The Ordinary products.
Allison Mariah It can be derived from plants as well. It’s pretty hard to believe that such a reputable company would use shark liver in their products especially as it’s hard to obtain in the first place.
@@samfam9452 Please do your research before you spread misinformation. There's a difference between squalEne and squalAne. Plant-derived squalane (which is what The Ordinary uses) is sourced from sugarcane and olives. Olives aren't especially eco-friendly but sugarcane is completely renewable and sustainable, similar to bamboo.
Rosa Damascena is a flower known to be used to create perfumes but it's also an anantiseptic and anti-inflammatory, I think this could be why it's in the ingredients
I 100% say the ordinary does NOT market themselves for people new to skincare at all! On a lot of their products, like that red solution one, the description online literally says that people without experinace in using acids shouldnt be using it and that it CAN be harmful if not used correctly and directions not followed. They got really trendy on social media because of how affordable they are and in particular THAT solution because it "looks cool." I don't think that's their fault. As someone with really sensative skin I love that I know EXACTLY what's in the products and can pick and choose what I need/want to focus on. In the end I find other brands packaging WAY more confusing because they have all the random ingredients I don't understand. At least with the ordinary a quick Google search gives you what you need because their ingredients list is so clear. In the end, I see the negatives in this video as less negative about the brand and their formulation and more of a personal consumer choice. Overall, their products seem pretty great and I only recently put some into my routine and I'm seeing pretty awesome results! Obviously, everyone is different but the ordinary seems to be exactly as they say they are, have good ethics, and are really transparent.
go to his 101 but I would recomended the nicocinimide syrem if u have oily and acne and to use the aha and bab doing the expholiation but just read on ulta what the products do they are very good. Also super hard to go extremely wrong with the ordinary
Typically what I would do would be to pick a particular thing in your skin you'd like to tackle, choosing one of their products that will benefit that, and choosing the one that suits your skin the best. For example, if you have oily/acne-prone skin then you would want to look into one of their exfoliators, or if you have dry skin you would look into a moisturizer. My number one suggestion for making a decision would be checking out Cassandra Bankson, she's an aesthetician on youtube who has a whole playlist on The Ordinary. Hope this helps
Try with hyaluronic acid and niacinamide they're really gentle and helps your skin to recovery from dark spots and oliness, that's a good start if you don't know how to choose the ingredients. Xoxo
Ikbal’s World All of them are good for acne they all can be use for that but there are cleansers and moisturizers lotion so each of them do different things
I am an Esthetician and really liked the way you explained the ingredients in a way regular (non-skin Professionals) can understand. Keep up the great posts and never stop learning!
everyone whos complaining about the ordinary being too complicated. you all can email customer service about your skin concerns and they will email you back a list of things to buy and the order to use them in. you can even tell them about the current products you use that are not deceim brand and they will give you suggestions. ive used the ordinary products for 3 years and it has changed my skin for the better.

@@wasabi521 thank you so much! I have been looking at trying the ordinary products but didn't know where to start. I'm excited to receive their recommendations!
I made the mistake of using it when I was younger, and my skin developed this terrible dependency on their moisturizer step, which kickstarted my long term battle with cystic acne and left me with lots of scarring. 😞 I really wished I had never tried it and avoid a lot of the scars I’ve obtained over the years.
Chelsy L proactiv didn’t change my skin at all at first but after a few weeks it turned so bad. it was really frustrating and i regret using it so much.
mlsshe yep had the exact same reaction, started when I was 11 when I had a couple pimples. Once it got too expensive for my mum to keep buying, my 7 year struggle with severe cystic acne (diagnosed by a dermatologist) developed. Accutane was a lifesaver however my vision got worse with it as a side effect
After my experience with Korean products (which are known to be some of the most gentle) with AHAs, The Ordinary terrifies me being JUST concentrated AHAs.
@@palestar828 AHA is an active ingredients, which means it works as an exfoliator for your skin. It peels away the surface of your skin. Korean skin care products (and most of other countries) only allowed AHA at 10%. Meanwhile the ordinary has an extra AHA, 30% which is A LOT. It is considered illegal in certain countries because the limit is only 10-20%.
If you study more dermatology and skin typing, you'll actually prefer to get supplemental actives to work on your specific needs. I like how the ordinary has blown chemistry out of proportion into cosmeceuticsls and brought down how we were being scammed with skin care that doesn't work because they have little to no actives. Ps. You're not supposed to apply salicylic acid all over the skin , it is an inflammatory substance that causes salicylicism . So watch out on that! Ps. I may start a UA-cam channel for all those want to dive more into chemistry, cosmetology. Dermatology amd pharmaceuticals and how they help to heal and better our skin. So feel free to subscribe :)
I know this was posted a while ago, but please be careful when using the last product if you’re not familiar with acids! Since it’s a direct acid it can DAMAGE your skin if you’re not careful. Do the patch test and build up to the 10 minutes. You may initially feel a dull burn in your skin. My favorite products are the Azelic Acid Suspension 10%, the Lactic Acid 10%, and the 100% Squalane oil. They never do me down and honestly, while this brand is a la carte, if you’re a beginner and do some research it’s a great place to start to introduce yourself to skincare. Also, not to take away from this video. If you are a person of color looking for a skin care routine to diminish hyperpigmentation, I suggest looking up Dr. Hani on UA-cam. She’s a wonderful dermatologist who has a great fully informative video on what to use and why. The products I mentioned I use are based off her suggested routine.
Me in south america, there are people that sell it in instagram or something, but I dont know if it is fake, and if in usa it costs 6$, people sell it for 25$, so NONO
Girl I’m so educated about skin cause of Hyram my skin used to peel everyday and I had BAD acne!! Now my skin is clear and of course I’ll have break outs every now and then but that’s normal. Don’t worry no more peeling skin I actually take care of my skin now instead of stripping it.☺️
ASMR Vibes a good moisturiser. it’s because you are overly stripping your skin so u need to stop using so many drying products and invest in a good moisturiser. To fix my moisture barrier i started using physiogel (it’s a moisturiser for dry and irritated skin) and my skin stopped peeling.
Personally, i have switched entirely to the ordinary. The brand is affordable and ever since i use it my skin has cleared up and I have pretty much no pimples (I'm extremely acne prone since my skin is oily). I would honestly recommend you to read the guides they have on their site and try at least one of their products.
can we just appreciate that Hyram is ethical and sustainable - it's so wholesome to see that someone cares enough to talk about these things in beauty on a large platform
Note: That red facemask that is praised by many isn't targeted towards dark skin tones. It can actually create hotspots. If you are a poc, be careful with what hyperpigmentation and chemical exfoliants you use because there is a high chance they will make your hyperpigmentation worse. I would recommend looking up products for hyperpigmentation that are POC friendly.
@Lotte no... this just shows that you don't understand what POC means... Take for example the majority of Asian people. They don't have extra melatonin in their skin, and they are still POC. POC doesn't mean "dark" or "black". The definition on google for POC: a person who is not white or of European parentage. POC literally means someone who isn't white racially. The word has more to do with the ethnic background than skin color.
Bryan Lai what do you mean the majority of asian people don’t have extra melatonin? it’s the other way around. it’s a beauty standard to have light skin and many do in north east asia, but a lot of them have naturally tan skin and south and south east asians can have very dark skin.
@@zoestyles5139 yes that's correct. But that's another conversation. The original point I was making was, the term POC shouldn't only reference dark skin tones.

Not true. Go to Deciem's IG. Read the comments. Alot of us are inexperienced and new to skincare. I've been using this brand for 2 years and my skin has never looked better. Mind you, I'm in my 50's. I had to do my research and ask alot if questions but well worth it.
@@WhineyOne I agree. You don't have to be an expert to be drawn to The Ordinary. I've had to look up the ingredients and see what it claims to do. I trust ordinary because I know they don't throw in some unnecessary shit in it.
If you go around on their website product by product which doesn’t take too long it shows what each ingredient treats and how to use it. If that’s too much they have a section on their site where you send them your skin concerns (acne, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, etc) and they’ll send you a detailed AM and PM skincare routine, based on your concerns. I did and it was super helpful adding to my current routine.

That's actually a feasible thing to do. They'd probably have to replace the pipettes bc they are difficult to sanitize properly, but that would still save on so much material. I've been re-using my old bottles for small vases and refilling with diy rosewater.
Re: Discussion on skincare packaging, why hasn't The Ordinary thought of offering to top-up their products if you bring the empty glass packaging. Give people a choice to waste less. Would be cool. That's all. Byeeeeee.
Dorothea Olesen Halldorsdottir it’s glass so it’s recyclable, you can just take your used containers to a bottle depot, that way you aren’t wasting anything.
You must've never heard about the Tylenol scare of the 80s that led to all of the seals that are required on the products that we purchase now. I'm dating myself by telling you that I remember that being on the news, but it's true. Anyway, there is no way that I would trust a big vat of product (same reason why we don't have bulk foods anymore). I appreciate that the glass bottles are recyclable and as close as we can get to minimal packaging.
Been using The Ordinary Skin Care for only a week and I am so loving the results! My melasma and acne scars have lightened up drastically! For the price it's worth purchasing! Just make sure you don't use two acids at the same time as it will most likely burn your skin. Do your homework on this product. Thanks Hyram 💋
The Glycolic acid isn't for everyone, but man did it do miracles for me! My acne scars have faded so so much, both on my chest and face. I also use it on my armpits to lighten them, and the difference is huge! Honestly my all time favorite product
I really REALLY wish THE ORDINARY would launch in India... :( right now, we have to pay over 2k - 2.5k (indian rupees) per product, that is almost 27 - 34 USD, which is really expensive. If they would launch in India, it would be so much more helpful for people looking into good, effective and affordable skincare :( :( :(
Dhanya Shridhar honestly I don’t think the ordinary would be successfully in India, since everybody here is afraid of “chemical” sounding stuff and in favor pseudo natural products
@@edwintomy6921 But I do think the attitude is changing. The younger population is more inclined to try good skincare. But we all know how expensive even moderately good skincare here in India is.
Hi what is your opinion of them using ingredients such as Carbomer as it is potentially a cancer causing substance?

This is a weird comment, but I also like how their packaging is so gender-neutral. A lot of guys tend to avoid "skincare" because it seems so feminine with the pink packaging, and smelling like flowers and stuff. Like, it's not even that it threatens masculinity or "looks gay" or whatever. It's just the branding seems very exclusive for women. When the package is more pink and flowery than a box of tampons, a man is generally just going to overlook it, because the marketing says "this is not for you". I really appreciate how the Ordinary doesn't market itself as "turning you into a beautiful woman", but instead as just providing good cosmetic care to your skin no matter who you are.
thank youu , i wish more men were into skincare it’s genuinely helpful for them
True story. I remember many years ago my brother made me pick up a face mask for him. I said "why can't you buy it yourself?"
He then protested that the (tiny) bow on the lid meant that it was for females. And he didn't wanna come across a certain way buying it. Back then I laughed and said that is ridiculous, just go and buy it, but he didn't; I ended up buying for him instead. I forgot about that, until I saw your comment and got reminded about it.
Why is buying something that seems feminine embarrassing... oh yea sorry o forgot because men think being a woman is embarrassing.

Let’s hope he doesn’t. He spreads a lot of wrong information in this video and in many others. He is an enthusiast and has a great character but he doesn’t understand anything about chemistry.
@@ducklingscap897 what is he wrong about?

The Ordinary is not cruelty free. They have a product that contains squalene which is oil that comes from the liver of sharks.
Allison Mariah It can be derived from plants as well. It’s pretty hard to believe that such a reputable company would use shark liver in their products especially as it’s hard to obtain in the first place.
Allison Mariah their squalene is plant-based!
@@samfam9452 Please do your research before you spread misinformation. There's a difference between squalEne and squalAne. Plant-derived squalane (which is what The Ordinary uses) is sourced from sugarcane and olives.

Xoxo

I found this...it should help you with questions about what to use and when..e.t.c
theordinary.deciem.com/faq
everyone whos complaining about the ordinary being too complicated. you all can email customer service about your skin concerns and they will email you back a list of things to buy and the order to use them in. you can even tell them about the current products you use that are not deceim brand and they will give you suggestions. ive used the ordinary products for 3 years and it has changed my skin for the better.
Will Saba what email can you send it to? The regular customer service? That’s awesome!
@@kyleighdionne on the deciem website on the bottom of the page theres a "contact us" and then you can select "products + regimens" then select "what products should i use"
I did that! It was very helpful. They were so quick to answer and helpful even if I had hundreds of questions haha they answered all of them! Very cool
Thx was getting way too overwhelmed with all the product names
@@wasabi521 thank you so much! I have been looking at trying the ordinary products but didn't know where to start. I'm excited to receive their recommendations!
The ordinary is the only skincare brand I can afford and it has made my skin better and my life so much simpler
Ok that’s it, let’s just all sign a petition for him to create his own skincare coz like he’s the only person we trust with our skin 📝
It would be so funny if it fails
📝
I’m sure a lot of people can’t afford to buy his product though. Like Brad Mondo and his shampoo, conditioner and hair dye
Why should you he’s not a doctor .
Dr dray is more trustworthy
i’m tryna see “the truth about proactiv”
Chelsy L I heard that they formulate it to make your skin worse if you stop using it 🤷🏻♀️
I made the mistake of using it when I was younger, and my skin developed this terrible dependency on their moisturizer step, which kickstarted my long term battle with cystic acne and left me with lots of scarring. 😞 I really wished I had never tried it and avoid a lot of the scars I’ve obtained over the years.
Chelsy L proactiv didn’t change my skin at all at first but after a few weeks it turned so bad. it was really frustrating and i regret using it so much.
@@delaneyreyes8995 that happened to my sister.
mlsshe yep had the exact same reaction, started when I was 11 when I had a couple pimples. Once it got too expensive for my mum to keep buying, my 7 year struggle with severe cystic acne (diagnosed by a dermatologist) developed. Accutane was a lifesaver however my vision got worse with it as a side effect
When he drops a skin care brand faces are about to be real clear
After my experience with Korean products (which are known to be some of the most gentle) with AHAs, The Ordinary terrifies me being JUST concentrated AHAs.
What does this all mean? I'm new to skin care so can you explain?
@@palestar828 AHA is an active ingredients, which means it works as an exfoliator for your skin. It peels away the surface of your skin. Korean skin care products (and most of other countries) only allowed AHA at 10%. Meanwhile the ordinary has an extra AHA, 30% which is A LOT. It is considered illegal in certain countries because the limit is only 10-20%.
Please do a “truth about the body shop”

Especially the magic drops or something of the sort. Or their jiseng toner

do not disrespect hyram like this!!
Sydney Henderson omg are you for real? He just looks and talks in a similar way as James Charles does. I‘m not comparing their behaviour. Okay?
He's not annoying like that person.
I always find it interesting and satisfying to see dermatologists and skin care experts with healthy-looking and glowing skin
the brad mondo of skincare has saved us once more // edit: ok wow ty for the likes lol 😂
omg same nameeee
bruh i really forgot who brad mondo was for a second and i was like who tf??
Karleigh Analeise He is the hairstylist
No. Brad Mondo is the Hyram of hair

I’m 17 and never had a skincare routine and I drastically need it
Me too! I always didn’t want to have a routine, and now I read the room, so I decided to start my skin care routine.
Keep it cheap! My friend spent $600 for her skincare.... still has the same effect as a $50 skincare routine.
dont worry im almost 19 and im barely learning
I'm 27...............................
Lol same here
Also the ordinary will talks about how to use the product and which not to combine so they don’t cancel each other out 🙌🏽
Can you please tell me how to get that information?
@@lillymathews7 there is a chart with products to not mix on deciem website
@@izabelix thank you so much for answering 😊.
Yes! Forgot about that but they give really good in-depth information about regimes and what doesn't mix!
I checked deciem website and cant find the chart u are saying. Can u share the direct link to it?
even if hyram told me to put ketchup on my face i’d do it cause i trust him sm
I’m a skincare specialist at Sephora and your videos are literally SO therapeutic and helpful!!
Ayy memories!! That's amazing, I'm so glad I can help! ❤
I have dry skin but I’m using niacinamide + zin. Is it ok or should I give it up
This brand honestly changed my skin like no other products I’ve ever used. I’ll always continue buying the ordinary 👍🏼
Cynthia Mariechana Id subscribe
I would subscribe so fast.
Cynthia Mariechana can’t wait 😊 😁 yay
I would definitely subscribe
Yes do it!
When you're trying to create your skin care routine but brands like The Ordinary and CeraVe are a luxury in your country 💔
Philippines? I feel you.
Kenya, still feeling you.
Philippines? Yea.
Yeah, The Ordinary is not ordinary here, it’s very expensive.
Edit: Brazil.
Don’t worry no more peeling skin I actually take care of my skin now instead of stripping it.☺️
How did u exactly get away that peeling skin? Mines always peeling off when I wear make up and I nearly tried every foundation😩
Gwen please tell us how you stopped peeling i have eczema on some places of my face😭😭

@@emaanap thank youuu
Personally, i have switched entirely to the ordinary. The brand is affordable and ever since i use it my skin has cleared up and I have pretty much no pimples (I'm extremely acne prone since my skin is oily). I would honestly recommend you to read the guides they have on their site and try at least one of their products.
Martina Stoyanova what products are you using? i have acne prone skin and needs some new products!
What cleanser and moisturizer do you use??
what product do you find works best for getting rid of acne ?
if you had freckles, did the peeling solution made them disappear ?
Me too! Hyaluronic acid and Niacinamide with occ exfoliants
I’m a straight man, I love you ! This in-depth analysis of exactly what’s in products is what I come here for, I trust you bro thank you
can we just appreciate that Hyram is ethical and sustainable - it's so wholesome to see that someone cares enough to talk about these things in beauty on a large platform
Is it just me or did anyone else hear about the ordinary by tik tok but first checked this video to make sure it’s a good brand ??
Kris. i did!! i just ordered a few products!!
dudeee same here. like im so worried if it's just a way for them to promote themselves.
me, lol and I'm using the AHA+BHA product
I literally am watching it rn and seeing if it’s worth it or not for me to buy🤣😭
Lauren Lee so how’s it working?
Note: That red facemask that is praised by many isn't targeted towards dark skin tones. It can actually create hotspots. If you are a poc, be careful with what hyperpigmentation and chemical exfoliants you use because there is a high chance they will make your hyperpigmentation worse. I would recommend looking up products for hyperpigmentation that are POC friendly.
POC aren't always dark...
@@bryski5990 she specifically mentions dark skintones in the beginning of her comment and is clearly referring to poc with deeper skintones
I LOVE how you considered their pre black Friday sale like yes yes yes .This product considers the environment ,respect the consumers budget and Is so so good

I agree, I think their target market is experienced skincare users who want lower cost alternatives
I feel like people don’t appreciate his sense of humor enough lmfao he’s hilarious
The bit where he was like _hElLo.. yOu cAllEd mE ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)_
When he says a bad word he bleeps it but intentionally a little bit too late, he doesnt care and neither do we but its funny
I didn’t know about him until I was on tik tok. And I really like his vibe.

People prefer offensive or edgy humour because they can release their anger and frustration. That's why a good person can't expect rewards. It's a narcissist's World.
i love that he doesn’t only promote his own brand, but also other brands that he honestly loves.
Crazy Idea: I wonder if The Ordinary would take back glass bottles and sanitize them and put more product in ~~~ that would be dope....
Safae Creates tell me why I was just thinking that😂
That's actually a feasible thing to do. They'd probably have to replace the pipettes bc they are difficult to sanitize properly, but that would still save on so much material. I've been re-using my old bottles for small vases and refilling with diy rosewater.
I think the fuel toxins from shipping bottles back and fourth would end up being worse for the environment
All companies should do that. For example laundry detergent bottles....
Wait I love this idea sm
Re: Discussion on skincare packaging, why hasn't The Ordinary thought of offering to top-up their products if you bring the empty glass packaging. Give people a choice to waste less. Would be cool. That's all. Byeeeeee.
Dorothea Olesen Halldorsdottir it’s simple, for hygienic reasons
Dorothea Olesen Halldorsdottir it’s glass so it’s recyclable, you can just take your used containers to a bottle depot, that way you aren’t wasting anything.
You must've never heard about the Tylenol scare of the 80s that led to all of the seals that are required on the products that we purchase now. I'm dating myself by telling you that I remember that being on the news, but it's true. Anyway, there is no way that I would trust a big vat of product (same reason why we don't have bulk foods anymore). I appreciate that the glass bottles are recyclable and as close as we can get to minimal packaging.
Jennifer Brandon glass is t recyclable where I live 😭
The do. They won’t refill but the started collecting their bottles in Europe... hasn’t started in N America
PLEASE RELEASE A SKINCARE LINE I WOULD BUY IT ALL WITH NO HESITATION

Been using The Ordinary Skin Care for only a week and I am so loving the results! My melasma and acne scars have lightened up drastically! For the price it's worth purchasing! Just make sure you don't use two acids at the same time as it will most likely burn your skin. Do your homework on this product. Thanks Hyram 💋
I got melasma from pregnancy. What all are you using?!
Yes what products please share
The Glycolic acid isn't for everyone, but man did it do miracles for me! My acne scars have faded so so much, both on my chest and face. I also use it on my armpits to lighten them, and the difference is huge! Honestly my all time favorite product
Avii Glitch ????
Marija Borg how often are you supposed to use it?
@@xxEmilyBieberxx It says you can use it daily, preferably at night.
Me too! Been using it for years now. My pores have never looked smaller, acne scars fade so much quicker, and brighter face overall

Once i was trying to order paula's choice bha exfoliating toner it cost 10k+ 😭
@@edwintomy6921 But I do think the attitude is changing. The younger population is more inclined to try good skincare. But we all know how expensive even moderately good skincare here in India is. I really hate the big presence of "DIY Skin Care" concept. More affordable but effective products would help in reducing that alot.
Poor u!! In VietNam, many people open bussiness their own and they sell the ordinary products affordable 👌🏻👌🏻 and we buy on shopee
