I remember when my Grandfather sang this song when I was about 14 yrs old , I use to be his cook , cooking from a wood stove, living in a mud house in Upper Santan , always made my Cowboy Coffee, he called it , I made it every morning , Also load up the wagon with large barrels, hooked up the horses and travel to Sacaton and filled them up with water , came back through the desert , I've always remember those days , ❤
Por fortuna puedo decir que tengo ancestros Tohono O'odham, por desgracia nunca e tenido contacto con mi gente, creo que nunca es tarde para buscar las raíces.
OMG, so remember learning this song in elementary school, was singing it for my boys, told them we used to sing these songs and Danny came to our school, he was so nice!
So beautiful! I would love to learn it and share it in ceremony up here in Duwamish territoty if possible. Whom may I connect with to ask for permission and to learn it with? Tlazohcamati
I’m in tears now, hearing these songs from my childhood sung by a respected elder.
This made me cry. I miss my grandmother so much. Ancestors, please protect my heart from darkness.
