  • The Tohono O’odham people have lived on both sides of the US-Mexico border since long before either country existed. As an increasingly militarized border threatens their way of life, Ofelia Rivas journeys across the border seeking to revitalize her ancestral village.

Haven't been to M D. since my mom passed in 2010, haven't been to rabbit falls since y2k, but I remember back in the 80s and 90s going as a youngster and having a fun time with family and friends. It's sad to see how tore up it became. It's good to see people are sharing the story about the o'odham and our roots, roots that run super deep and with a longer history than the u.s. care to share with the world. Praying for the ones that will step up post-covid and carry the traditions on.

I'm Native American from Arizona. It's time to build a wall on the tohono o'odham nation to keep the criminals out. Mexicans aren't even native to begin with, they're mixed race. Not only that but they treat indigenous people in mexico like trash. If the tohono o'odham nation refuses to have a wall built on their rez, hell yeah they should be opposed by my tribe, american border militias, state and federal government.

Most of her family was Catholic. She tended a grave with Christ Crucified Cross on it. Her grandmother helped have a Catholic Church built there, named after their patron St Francis of Assisi. Her grandmother also purchased a statue of St Francis shown lying down, which is the way St Francis wanted to die lying down on the earth.🙏

The Americam Empire is built upon a bloody foundation.
Thank goodness it's cracking & crumbling down...that's why they're putting up walls... they're paranoid & going into protective mode of lands & resources that were NEVER their's
      And
No One gets to take ANY of it when they cross over out of this life into material death.
All empires / regimes/ narcissists / abusers/ control freaks... grip tighter as they lose control they NEVER had.
      Hold the faith.
      A'ho

I only partially feel for these people. Well it sucks that they are losing things, it sucks more to me that they have members of their tribe participating. Smuggling narcotics. If I am aware of the smuggling of narcotics, and what else may I not be aware of? Maybe we should have fenced the reservation off from the United States to protect ourselves from the doings on there or purchased the land of the reservation in Mexico and vegetable thing off and they continue their beliefs with our protection.

    Time for
    Wampum Ceremony.
    Do you know how?
Do any of the Native Indians remember? …
    Did that wisdom die
when The Last Money Shaman died
    with nobody even around,
because they did not believe in him
    anymore,
and they even considered him evil.
All those people were tricked by
    Mainstream Media,
which has been around for thousands of years, even before the written word.
Jesus tried to tell the people not to listen to the gossip.
They didn’t listen then, but now we are learning better.
