I believe waylon was truly the happiest on stage with the lights on him and one of the best supporting bands at his back. I've never seen any footage of him playing live where he wasn't smiling and having fun with the band and the audience. The world was blessed by this man making music and we lost him to early... I feel he had more to give the music world.
Love Waylon! That voice and his chicken pickin. I've seen him live in the 70s and 80s, and it was some of the best country music played loud. Outlaw country rules! Willie too!
Wasn't he just! Sex on legs. 💓😍 And that voice is perfection, we lost the best when he passed away. I can't imagine how Jessi and his family coped with losing him.
Waylons unique style voice, just gives me the goosebumps and they feel so very sweet and endless. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. Waylon singing any song he was phenomenal to listen to. ELIZABETH SCOTLAND ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I'm digging that 1980 Mr. Lucky's performance. You can watch the whole thing here. Love the intro with 'Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way' playing and the girls dancing at Red Rocks to it. I was only two when that aired and would give anything to go back. Now I play it for my kids and tell them this is the ONLY country music - Outlaw Country.
This man was such a talent! Good looking, charming, talented singer & guitar player & such a presence on stage & on tv! He was simply the best country performer ever!
Same here only it was Thrash, Black and Death Metal and Outlaw Country (specifically Waylon). One of the best concerts I have been to is Hank III where the Cowboy hats were on one side of the venue and leather jackets and .308 bullet belts were on the other side. One of the rowdiest concerts I've seen. And that's including all the SLAYER shows we got bloodied at.
Waylon was like a God to me during my early years to his death. One of my top five musicians. Waylon has a lot to contribute to Ralph "pick it moon" Mooney. RIP Both of you.
I could just watch these old performances all day. Lol, well actually, I've been watching everything Waylon for about 11 hours so far today. Can't get enough of his voice, plus he's wonderful to look at. Mmm, mmm, mmm. *Edit* Why would this just end mid-song? SO frustrating!
Wha wha wha, just cannot get enough of Waylons unique style voice, its ABSOLUTELY phenomenal to listen to. Loved Waylon Jennings singing any songs. ELIZABETH in SCOTLAND ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
A true legend Waylon Jennings was and is. Our new generations know nothing about country music. I still listen to Walon's music on vinyl and it takes me back in time, an era of great country music. Sadly, its all history now but good thing is that we have been part of it. And like George Jones once said " There ain't nothing in the world like country music" and that is so very true.
On a turntable in repeat mode, my roommate played The Outlaws, with Willie Nelson and Jessi Colter and I never got tired of that album. Every song a hit!
The blend of Moon on steel and Waylon's unique, genuinely all his own style of lead guitar work WAS the waylon/waylors sound, THE patriarchal sound of outlaw country, and timeless. Its still just as hot of a sound as it was then. Everyone always talks about the driving bass and beat being "the waylon sound" and its no doubt a crucial component, but lots of music has driving cadence and sound. A rhythm track of that flavor might make you think of them. Moon intros fills and solos and the exhanged lead breaks w waylon lets you KNOW its them in 3notes or less. If theres a pedal steel mt rushmore and moon aint on it, tear it down while crazy arms and rainy day woman play in the background. Hank Jrs observational tribute "waylon's guitar" says it best. Might not be 220 notes /minute pyrotechnic displays technical prowess, but theres INFINITELY MORE than enough soul and tone there than in all the disney bro country/country rap(CRAP for short) posers than theyll put out btwn now and eternity. Imagine somebody saying "Play me one and make it identify you and convey who you are." Waylon could do that.
Jessie is a special woman...following Waylon from beginning to end it took a woman deeply and truly in love to deal with all she did...truly a saint to deal with his shenanigans...and I say this with love as no bigger fan than I...but a Realist...i still listen to the Outlaws for hours...they were truly a gifted couple and he taken too soon...and his son is his image.
I love at 11:16 you can see the gentleman next to waylon crack up laughing like that "bookity bookity bookity boo" wasn't planned lol. Almost like music used to be about having fun with the band and crowd while you make the music or somethin.
When Waylon ripped into those leads with his guitar and the band followed that’s the best sound to ever happen in Country Music in my opinion.
Yeah Man Hoss !!

ABSOLUTELY!
I agree 1000%

Probably my favorite country singer of all time, great beat to each song
something primitive and primal in his music that speaks to the neanderthal in us all
He was something.
And he had the greatest steel guitarist ever!...in incomparable Ralph Mooney!
The foot that made Merle famous!
Moon
I wish I could’ve seen ol Hoss live
Love Waylon! That voice and his chicken pickin. I've seen him live in the 70s and 80s, and it was some of the best country music played loud. Outlaw country rules! Willie too!
Good grief he was gorgeous, oh and that voice...😍

Sex on legs is about right.A true legend and no mistake.🐻🤗👍
Best voice ever!
Waylon took bad assery to a whole nother level . a long time ago has got to be the most autobiographical song he ever did.
He did another song later called “cactus Texas” that is somewhat.
Love me some bad assery!🤗
“I’ve always been crazy” is fairly honest as well....
This is one of my favorite live performances of all time. ✌️

I am from Portugal 🇵🇹 but I love 💘 country music and Waylon is the best.

Lost in time and most people don't know it.
I hope this will stay up for a while. Great show!
I was a rocker since I could remember, then I heard Waylon. My how I changed!
Where do you think rock n roll came from ... just sayin’
Waylon got his first big gig playing for Buddy Holly

@danconroy8293, Waylon changed many rockers over to country music, thanks for posting that 🎸

Brilliant upload waylon one of the best country singers ever ive got this on dvd from the lost outlaw concert Brilliant
Waylon by far the best cowboy singer of them all amen

Ich bin 86 Jahre und hoere Waylon jeden Tag. Gruß aus Deutschland.
Coked up out of his mind and still one of the best performers ever.
Wha wha wha, just cannot get enough of Waylons unique style voice, its ABSOLUTELY phenomenal to listen to. Loved Waylon Jennings singing any songs. ELIZABETH in SCOTLAND ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Waylon Jennings, Dean Martin , Elvis Presley = Kings of Cool !
And Lemmy of Motorhead. I'd say Waylon and Lemmy might take the title.
@@Ruger44Redhawk …. I can definitely agree to that
I totale agree. I am a big fan of All 3
I total agree lm a big fan of All 3.
I think God I was raised when time was good and good country music
