@@Agent-yw1kj If there is a modding community for a really obscure low poly frogger, then I'd find it hard to believe that there isn't a modding community for one of the most popular games of the mid 2000's.
@@Agent-yw1kj I just did a quick Google search for Jak and Daxter mods and they do exist. Just because something is hard doesn't mean it can't be done.
Absolutely loved this. I haven't played this game since it first released as I originally had it for PC. I got it as a birthday gift from a friend, and I remember spending tons of time playing it. It was a fun game but at times it got brutally hard - especially for a kid. They definitely didn't show any mercy when designing some of the later levels!
I had this for the PC! I could never beat ANY of the levels as a kid, but I remember they all felt like they were huge worlds, and the music was top notch. This is a throwback!
I had this game when I was a kid, this game took no prisoners. I played it recently to see if my skills had improved now that i'm older and It's still hard af.
I was just thinking about how far I could get if I replayed it now and I honestly think I’d do much worse than when I was a kid because I have less patience for tough platformer games I think these days. I never did 100% it as a kid. There was always one or two levels I couldn’t complete fully
I got my uncles ps1 and he gave me this game with it, one of my favorites growing up. I might have to get the pc version so I can start playing these mods. Makes me glad that theres a whole community supporting this game as I feel like its a hidden gem from that era.
This and frogger 2 on the ps1 and incredibly underrated. Some outstanding games! What a treat for you to cover this game... let’s hope for frogger 2 next!
I forgot this game existed! I never got past the first level, so I didn't remember right away, but seeing those menus was what did it. I don't remember much of it, but I do remember I had a lot of fun with the multiplayer.
Using alligator & crocodile interchangeably made me chuckle a bit, especially since with the way they did the snout it's pretty hard to tell either way (alligators have rounded snouts, crocodiles are pointed among other differences). This is a pretty cool video, I especially loved that zoom out in the Mower Mania section! Everything just vanishing bit by bit into a black, inky void.
This game holds a special place in my heart because I used to play it with my mom when I was younger. It makes me so happy to see that other people love it too and that it is still loved to this day. :)
I always hated it when frogger died in this game. Always creeped me out, but it also made try that much harder not to let him die. Still Frogger is a hard game and I don’t think I ever 100% it. I think there was always one or two levels that eluded completion for me
I never made it past the Cloud Zone, the fall detection always throws me off. Sometimes I’ll make a successful landing but still drop poor Frogger to his doom.
someone else already suggested it, but I also would love to see an LSD: Dream Emulator Boundary Break! That game has tons of secrets and bizarre content.
this was super interesting. i hope you can get more communities to mutually help you like this, it gives you a rather different and interesting episode while bringing attention to a probably mostly unknown thing like making custom levels for Frogger. i certainly never thought that was a thing that existed, but thats pretty cool to hear!
It's the same model as that yeah, but that's an entity that gets spawned in, and isn't part of the map geometry. The script did mention that, but I think we didn't want to rerecord the line.
This game is so low-polygon it actually turns it into an artstyle. It's got that Frogger 3D look, you know? I can't think of another game that quite looks like it. Also thanks for the great episode!
I've been vaguely thinking about this game for YEARS. But I couldn't remember enough details to look for it (I didn't even remember it was a Frogger game) because I was so young when I played it. This video brought back some super deep memories and now I no longer have to wonder where my memories are from when I randomly think about "that old childhood PC game with the lava". (I'm pretty sure the PC version is the same)
Omg this is possibly the first game I ever played as a child and it was on PC thank you so much I knew it was frogger but I forgot what this version was called and now I know its literally just frogger I'm so thankful you did a boundary break on this thank you so so much!

Holy shit I used to love this game so much as a kid. It was so damn hard after you got a bit of a way in. I gotta go play this again I havent thought about it in so long

I remember playing this game on the PC. A PC that could play it at approximately 2 FPS (sometimes 0.5 FPS, not kidding). Being a kid who had sub 5 FPS on every game, I thought that was normal. I died so much and it was incredibly slow. And despite that, I loved it. Would have finished it too, but with such low FPS and reactions delayed by several seconds, many parts become pure guesswork. It's nice that this still has a community around it.
