Carp fishing ** Winter 2021 Red letter day session

Join me on a day ticket session in late December looking for a winter carp. Rigs, tactics, runs, and best off all some beautiful mirror and common carp resulting in a real Red letter day of carp fishing. Boilies and maggots but which will produce the bigger carp?

Hi Ian not really mate. I have had a couple of days a few years ago when I just had to get out over Christmas but normally when it’s only just above freezing otherwise it’s the main one for my winter fishing. Thanks for watching mate and the comment 👍

Morning Jason your videos are great I particularly like the A1 pits vids as I used to fish them years ago , now I'm not a carp angler but prefer to fish for the huge bream that I know used to inhabit pit four ,my question is ,are they still there and is lake four worth fishing for them cheers Jason 👍 oh I've just bought a sonic recon 8 footer on the strength of having a short set up rod handy in the car ,a brilliant rod and I can't believe how light and slim it is brilliant 😁

Thank you John appreciate that mate. Takes a lot to do the filming the way I do so it’s nice to hear your kind words. Pit 4 always suffers the most when the complex floods as there is a culvert behind it underneath the railway line which seems to flush out a lot of fish, carp included.
I have used maggots quite extensively on the pits in recent years and have caught very few bream. I used to fish the pits in the late nineties and early 2000’s and can remember when they drained pit 6 and removed most of the bream and put them into 4. I think most of them fish have probably passed now.
The rod is very good for close in work seems a little stiff for a start but you can bend right into it when you get a good double /twenty hooked up. Enjoy your fishing mate👍

@@waitingfortheweekend2441 marvellous reply Jason thanks for the info that really helps me a lot ,I remember the 90,s up to about 2006 when I fished it a lot and I've gotta say I had some fantastic times and caught loads and I'd catch all sorts ,I visited recently first time for years and found it rock hard !! a shame as I always loved the pits ,but I love watching how you approach the margins and your success and the fish are awesome , keep at it Jason 👍

Great video again Jay, a well deserved winter result! Enjoy fishing this lake in the summer and got to know some of the local lads that day fish all year round. Notice the staging are still in need of some TLC. When you back in France, hopefully heading that way later this year?

Thank you Andrew appreciate that mate. Very nice lake mate only fish it in winter gets a bit wet and muddy though. Most of the swims are missing rock at the front and it’s not looking nice it’s a bit awkward but not too bad. Hopefully back out to France may/ June have booked but the french have more restrictions than us so we will see. Not been out in the spring for 3 Years due to COVID.

Hi Ben it is a nice place good for a bite in winter not usually as prolific as that session but always a chance. In fairness to the lads that fish there regular I’ve decided not to name the place as it’s only about 4 acres. If you do a bit of investigating or go into a local tackle shop they will know where it is, there are plenty of landmarks in the first 30secs.
