I hated Iggy at first. He was such a naggy mom but that moment when he lost his eye sight. I broke down in tears..I was so shocked..snd heartbroken and I missed all the things he couldn't do anymore. Now hes my favorite because hes so loving and self sacrificing for Noctis.

If I recall, there was a blind woman who won a contest being judged by the likes of Gordon Ramsay and such.
(Though, I imagine since the blindness was forced upon Ignis after wearing the ring, he would probably need a hand for a little while.)

I'm not convinced that shoving the Ignis chapter into the main storyline would have helped. It would be another blow to the pacing, and all it would do is tell you that Ignis lost his sight because of a magic ring. (Wasn't it already obvious that he lost it from trying to serve Prince Noctis?)
Just got to the part where we see blind Ignis. I had been dissing him so much, and now I just feel sad. Like dang, Iggy.

Ignis grabs the sword of the gods, to beat up marluxia and after he did that the gods squirted lemon juice into his eyeballs making him blind

IGNIS is such a fuckin good character bro, he’s selfless, capable, honorable, he makes puns! He’s perfect. His bit of the story is heartbreaking.

Damn dude he fuckin raised that prince, carried the team on his back, was humble and friendly about it the whole time, didn’t change his attitude when he sacrificed his sight for his prince. And couldn’t even see Noctis one last time when they said their goodbyes. I’m gonna fuckin cry.
And he has a lot of feminine traits that make him so compelling. He’s not a stereotype of a man, he doesn’t have toxic masculinity, and the most macho of the group doesn’t tease him, Gladio respects the fuck out of
Ignis. It’s just so nice to have that added into the story.
