Ignis is an awesome character and one who comes out of Final Fantasy XV very well.
This video will look at Ignis' story, as presented in Final Fantasy 15 and Brotherhood, and will look to analyse and explain why I feel he's the best character in Final Fantasy XV's story.
It will look at different perspectives, including his relationships with characters such as Noctis Lucis Caelum, Gladiolus Amicitia and Prompto Argentum.

The game is still new. Once they have had time to soak in every last details of the game, including Ignis' undying loyalty to his friends despite losing his eyesight, they'll turn their opinions around.
People who haven't played Episode Ignis. If you can seriously play Episode Ignis and still think Prompto or Gladio are the best bros, we got a problem.

Zura if people play Episode Ignis and still think the other chocobros are better then theyre lying and they haven’t played it. The last time I was so shocked and excited because Iggy put on the ring was...I dunno. I can’t think of anything at the moment. I knew it would make him lose his sight but for one glorious moment he’d met his own expectation that he could not just save Noct but also possibly stop the monsters that were chasing the Prince. He doesn’t have the big sword or the ability to be the happy fun ball but he has the will to do anything for Noct.

ignis is hands down THE BEST. sure, gladio is a hot dad and prompto is fricken adorable and noctis is an emo prince but ignis... ignis is the ultimate man/waifu.
also he cooks AND heals... he is the most valuable and likeable

Donald heals are completly forgettable the moment you can heal yourself. Specially in secret boss battle, were they die more easily than Prompto.

The game would be over way too quickly if Sora had access to someone as capable as Ignis.
Iggy is my favorite character of the series. My reasons for that are a bit more personal than most. My father is blind and has been his whole life. In his life a lot of people would treat him like he couldn't do anything, that he needed to be taken care of, that he was a burden to society. But my father grew up and lived his life where the word 'can't' simply wasn't a part of his vocabulary.
After Ignis is blinded, a lot of people wanted to treat him like losing his sight made him weak. They wanted to shelter him away someplace safe, isolating him in the process. They tried to make 'can't' a part of Ignis' vocabulary. But Ignis wouldn't have it. He refused to let his friends push him away. He fell often and needed his friends' help a lot, but he kept pushing. He kept learning and growing and soon he didn't need to rely on anyone. And that is a very important lesson for anyone to learn.

Ignis is the most useful person in combat. He has Buffs, Debuffs, and strong combat techs like Sagefire. I love him, him going blind was the catalyst that changed the tone of the story and set it on a more serious path. it's what forced Noctis to think about someone other than himself.

for real. I use overwhelm more than any other tech. regroup is really useful in the early game as well. and he's like godfather of the group. especially on the train when he goes blind, gladio isn't taking orders from noctis at that point, they're going up to Ignis to ask what's next.
If it was done the right way, Gladio should be the tank and shield & Prompto is the long ranger. It adds depth to the battle system. But no, Prompto brings guns but he keeps jumping in the center of the battlefield. Lol.
Going into FFXV I thought Prompto would be my favorite. He's very expressive, silly, and loving, and while I do love Prompto, Ignis becamse my unexpected favorite, and probably my favorite male FF character overall. He has a quiet and dry, yet killer sense of humor, he has a great sense of style (sleeves rolled up to the elbow, properly used belt, suspenders, he checks all of my favorite things in men's wear), he uses my second favorite weapon type of double daggers, and he cares SO MUCH about his friends. He takes on so many of the duties that the others either aren't responsible enough to fulfill, or just aren't willing to. Honestly after the Leviathan fight I was way more concerned about what happened to Ignis than what happened to Luna. And I love everything about the chapter in the mines directly afterwards, from forcing the player to slow down and opening up the chance to really think about and take in everything that has happened, to the other characters not really knowing how to handle Ignis's blindness. It felt so real and genuine, its my favorite chapter in the game.
Ignis is the best. Not only because of his story (I really felt it when he got blind) but also because his skills in battle are the most useful by far.
Marcelo Amaral yeah i think that was a conscious decision by the devs. if gladio had gone blind would we really have cared? maybe a bit but after he would have no doubt blamed everyone else for it...most would have been like..."whatevs i still have enhancement regroup and overwhelm" lol

Clear vision is kind of something people with 20/20 or other acceptably visioned people take for granted though. I'm nearly legally blind without my glasses, and if you've got a clear vision aid, you use it. Visual ambiguity is not really a good thing. It makes you less effective at battle for one. Iggy being less effective in battle would not be a good thing.

Ignis easily became my favorite character in the whole Franchise after showing how well he handled losing his vision.
He didn't cry about it, he didn't feel sorry for himself and turn into a depressed emo, (cough cough CLOUD.), and he didn't blame anyone for it. He instead put Noctis and the group before himself, told them to focus on the mission and to get shit done. Once he adapted to the darkness, he becomes the most badass character in the series. I may be ignorant on this, but who else in the entire franchise fights completely blind? Let alone becomes a better fighter for it?
Agreed, although to be fair Cloud isn't as "emo" as he's made out to be in the spin-offs and film. In the game he's a lot more tempered and has a greater range of emotion. People have blown it out of proportion and now all anyone remembers about Cloud is how "emo" he was when that's not even the case. In the film he was more depressed, yes, though I believe the creator said that was a side effect of the geostigma. Plus PTSD.
More advent children hate? I get the apprehension with Cloud's characterization in Advent Children, but if you really consider everything he went through, with his entire mind having been broken time and time again, saving the world from a threat that still haunts him, yet realizing that he couldn't save the ones he cared so much for threw him into a heavy PTSD-fueled depression. So yeah I think they could have done that much better, but I think it's silly to just nullify his tragic arc with slapping the 'emo' label on him, especially when Noctis is such a dang sad boi. Though, that last sentence was just me being petty cause Cloud's my boy :P
Iggy’s devotion to Noct is almost superhuman. He has had to be so many things to Noct since a pretty young age (mid to late teens) but he never wavered and was always there for Noct in whatever capacity was needed be it battle tactics or reminders to eat his damn vegetables. If anything this gideo kind of understates Ignus’s roll in the story. Im not saying Gladio and Prompto would do less but Ignus would be first at Noct’s side to guide or follow as needed.
I am constantly floored thinking about his situation and the maturity he had to have had at a young age. I assume several boys were studying to become Noct’s mentor/aide de camp. Regis would have picked him personally and likely talked to Iggy a good but about what he needed from him and his son. After watching the short video that seemed like a dream but was Regis communing with the Crystal and finding out that Noct would be the One True King he may not have said it but I think he kept away from his son quite a bit because of the sadness he would have felt. Ignus was regis’s proxy as well.
Another massive addition to Cloud's personality as well: his entire village was slaughtered and burned to the ground by someone he greatly admired. Add on top of it everything else that was done to him and it's a genuine amazement he's not curled in a ball in a room somewhere, comatose.
This also being said, I do laugh a little at Cloud pulling a "dad going to get cigarettes from the store" with dropping off Denzel with Tifa, who already was looking after Marlene, and then abandoning them, lol. The idea of Cloud being an "absentee father" is just funny to me 😂
One of my favorite details about post-blinding Ignis is what it does to his in-battle moveset. He initially has two clumsy attacks, one of which involves falling over. As the game goes on, though, he slowly regains his old moves and phases out the special blind-man-fumbling ones, and by the end of chapter 13, he gains a unique parry-and-counter move with his walking stick.
They actually designed a simple Metroid-style "lose all your options, then slowly regain them and more" arc for an NPC, and set it to play out quietly in the background of the story. No special attention is called to this process, because that's exactly the kind of character that Ignis is - the very picture of the Stiff Upper-Lip.
With the story of Ignis's blindness, they do something that is a sad rarity in videogame storytelling:
1) They invoke emotion without resorting to death. Yes, everyone cried when Aerith died. Sure. But death has been an emotional crutch in gaming for too long. When Ignis lost his sight, it struck a tragic chord that felt much deeper than Luna's death. This was largely because of the consequences. We could see how it immediately effected him and his friends. The dynamic changed in a very tangible (and painful) way. My heart broke for him when he was down and pride surged when he eventually bounced back.
2) It did this using gameplay mechanics. The changes in combat in the following dungeon, the change in the feel of the music, etc. all lent to the tragedy, but the real clincher? The cooking. When they sat down to camp and what was normally a calm respite became a cry-worthy moment when the food selection menu came up and only displayed that freaking sad-ass can of hash. It was clear then that Ignis could not engage in his favorite hobby and that his life had changed. Tripping in combat is one thing, but not getting to cook a simple meal? That was truly heart wrenching. It was the saddest use of mechanics since the ending of Crisis Core.
maX Volnutt I was only able to appreciate all the "adventures" in the first 9 chapters of the game after this point - then finally at the end I felt like every little side quest that I had been on before and thought of as a chore or cheesed through, it was something to be missed. No idea of what's ahead, just adventures with "friends", yet I pushed through to quickly see the end. FFXV's final chapters immersed me in the emotions of the brothers; things that I thought where silly - like the photos and the camping, turned into super important linchpins to the emotional narrative beyond the "proficiency" and "quest" of a traditional RPG

Ignis went from being my least favourite Chocobro to my fave, and Gladiolus from favourite to least because of the scenes you discribed here. I just love how caring Ignis is, genuinely at that, and the strenght he shows after being disabled, it was incredibly amazing.
Conor I went through the same feeling. during the train ride when gladio rips on noctis for being a punk, I really felt so bad for ignis and was hating noct alot.

I was very surprised to see that Ignis ranked the lowest out of the bros on the poll, as the ones I've seen he ranks very high, usually second after Noctis. Everything you say in the video rings true and he is such a fantastic character with such grace and composure, but also a hidden fury and strength. They would literally fall apart without him! It makes me wonder about his childhood, it doesn't sound like he had a fun upbringing.

Ignis was my favorite within the first hour, I'd say. He has a Stoic character balanced with a love for beautiful things (be it food, art or landscapes). You find yourself trusting him, relying on him and eventually being in awe of his bravery. When he lost his vision it crushed me, but his reaction to it was the most inspiring thing about this game.

I never liked Gladio at all, I can't understand how he would be more popular than Ignis. Ignis is kind, helpful, and goes through the most development. By far my favorite XV character.

Before that Gladio tried to offer Cindy dinner, and she turned him down. As a last thing, Prompto asks if they can call Cindy - and again "sure, Paw-Paw would love talk to you". It's funny, Gladio and Prompto hitting on Cindy and Noct and Ignis make fun of them xD
Ignis is legit one of my favorite characters of any product in any form of entertainment or literature ever. And no that's not an overstatement. I always thought that he was just so brilliant. He was so focused and sharp. He was also confident enough to not mind letting the odd quirks, like cooking, show in front of everyone. He was loyal to a fault and never questioned the integrity of the mission. He was the only character, and I straight up mean the one and only character, that marched onward toward the goal without ever swaying or becoming confused. He embraced responsibility and did all the "boring stuff" because he would be the only one mature enough to do so. This guy can't get enough credit in my book and I can't believe that so few people seem to see him in that same light.
Love this. Ignis is the most complex character out of the four and by far the sexiest.

According to a leak Ignis was the only one who stayed 100% loyal to Noctis in Versus XIII while prompto and gladiolus betray the group.
I heard about Gladio (which you can kind of tell by the way things play out. It looks like it was originally meant to go a different way). I've never heard Prompto was going to!
But even still, Ignis definitely has unwavering loyalty and it shows pretty strongly.

You might be right. The leak says that Gladio didn't approve of Noctis being king, which is what kinda happens in xv, but in versus he ends up dying due to taking a hit intended for Noctis from Clarus ( Gladiolus' father, he also killed Regis). Verstael infused his son Prompto with Magitek but he was a failure so he left him and later on makes him betray Noctis. He then preforms experiments on prompto and Noctis to recreate one of the beings that created eos but apparently it's monstrous so it kills Versteal. Prompto dies in the battle against it. If the Prompto DLC has Versteal trying to make him betray Noctis.. then I think this leak might be legit. Or it could just be a coincidence and this leak is bs. I might need to research Hamlet. lol

that is a really depressing, yet compelling alternate storyline.
I think the moment that solidified Ignis as my favourite character was in the first playable dungeon after Ignis had been blinded (can't remember what the area was called), and the party make camp outside the quarry area.
Normally, you would at this point be greeted by an array of delicious meals for Ignis to cook for you, but given his situaion instead you are only given two - a tin of cold, canned food and some Cup Noodle if you bought some back in Lestallum.
This moment really solified to me how much the group rely on Ignis. This was only compounded by me trying to keep pace with him to the different destinations in that area and seeing the once strong navigator of the group who always had total clarity of his goal feel he is burdening the group instead of aiding, and also seeing him struggle and fall over in combat saddened me so much I had to stop playing for a while to comprehend it. The camping scene was even more heartbreaking seeing Prompto try to lighten the mood by saying he'd taken more pictures and offers to show them to Noct; but is soon turned down.
I do enjoy Noctis as a character and I understand why he does what he does, it frustrates me however in the early parts of the game when he doesn't understand how much he means to his friends, and maybe how much they mean to him. I kind of went off on a tangent there, but Ignis to me really is the glue that holds the party together.
I couldn't have been happier to see the final campsite scene and have Ignis cook one last meal, and that showed me how strong of will the man is. Not only is he entirely blind, but he learns to try to live his life the same way as before his injury and even become stronger afterwards. He certainly used those 10 years well.
Ultimately, his support in battle, tactics before that, his driving, his cooking, his personality and his dedication to always give his all no matter the circumstance he's given make him, for me, not only the MVP of the party but also my favourite character in the game.
He does use up a bit too much hair gel though.
Ignis was the only character I liked out of the four. Maybe I'm being bias because I'm from England and he reminds me of one of my colleagues.

You hit the nail on the head about Ignis. That is why he has always been my favorite ffxv character. Noctis learned from Ignis how to be selfless, so he can make the ultimate sacrifice. When Noctis first opened his eyes after the Leviathan battle, the first person he saw was Ignis, even though Ignis just went through something traumatic of his own. My favorite conversation of theirs is in-battle, when Noctis asks Ignis if he'll always have his back. Ignis answers simply, "Always."

The part that hurted me was the part when you accidentally speed up your movement during ignis blind state, he falls down as you see prompto picking him back on his feet then gladio gets pissed at you for it.
I was doing pictures the whole time, so I was generally rushing through it all. I felt so bad every time I turned around from a high point after taking a photo to see Ignis just straying slowly towards the group.
I was kinda tipsy during that dungeon and kept forgetting to slow down…I felt like a monster every time Gladio yelled at me 😭

I love how likable all the characters are in this game. They all feel so real
Gladio's DLC was about him, Promto's DLC, though it was sad and answered a lot of questions about his past, was also about him. Ignis's episode was about Noct. All the crap Ignis went through during this episode meant nothing to him; he only cared about his king. Even when he was face to face with Ardyn, he didn't hesitate to give up his own life to protect him. And my gosh, as if this boi wasn't OP to begin with, he could freaking wield the Ring of Lucis without dying. Same could be said for Ravus, but Ravus couldn't even control it before it consumed his arm; let along fight head to head with a being of god-like power. IF YOU CAN"T TELL FROM MY PROFILE PIC I REALLY LOVE IGNIS. PLEASE RECOGNIZE WHAT A GREAT CHARACTER HE IS.
Personally, I've never liked cooking, but seeing him always so cool has helped me to try to do some of his recipes (sounds like a miracolous product but it's true). My point is, If someone inspires you to do something new, even if it's a video game character... well I think someone did a very good job at developing him... Although, they're also true all the other qualities that already mention... he's just perfect.
Ardyn is my favorite FFXV character, but Ignis is my favorite chocobro. And while I shed a tear during the final campfire scene, my heart completely broke when "Ignis walks at a slower pace due to his eye injury. Be sure not to leave him behind" popped up on screen.

Thank you. You expressed perfectly exactly how I feel about Ignis, and that scene in the Marlboro dungeon is probably my favorite moment too. It's the only time we see Ignis raising his voice to the others. The only time we see him truly assert himself and putting his foot down, and it's all the more powerful because he does it so rarely. And yet even that is about peacekeeping. He does it in an attempt to end the argument that is threatening to tear the group apart.
What I also find really interesting (and something that can be easy to forget) is that Ignis does all this while only being 2 years older than Noctis. He's not even the oldest of the group - Gladio is. Yet he's mature in a way that's far beyond his years, and he always has been. It's something that (in part) comes from growing up as a gifted child. It makes you very precocious, able to grasp and understand things on a level far beyond your age (although your emotional development isn't necessarily on the same level, which can cause... difficulties). It makes you a very adult minded child. And I think his education magnified that even further. We know he was entered into a program for gifted children at the Citadel at a young age. It's unclear exactly when they started grooming him for his role as the prince's advisor and confidant, but it was likely at a young age that he was instilled with responsibility. In a way I think he's like one of those children who were forced to grow up way too soon because one of their parents died and they had to step up as a surrogate to their younger siblings.
Mama Iggy is hands down one of the most beautifully written characters i have ever had the pleasure of playing alongside.
In my experience on what I've seen in some communities, Gladio is actually less talked about. Ignis and Prompto are more talked about. Ignis is definitely best team mom. Great vid BTW

Well, Noctis won, because of how much character development he had in the story and the ending was just heartbroken. Noctis is my favorite but, Ignis will always be one of my favorite and memorable.

Given that there's DLC on the way. I wouldn't jump the gun just yet. But as for what stands now. I do agree that Ignis is the best character in terms of his character development, and story progression throughout the game.
Personally I'm really excited to see Prompto's story unfold. I am confident that we will get a better representation of his character and intentions.

What character development???? I am reading through the comments and everyone is saying this but it's just wrong. Becoming blind because of a fight in not development at all. And that is literally his only moment in the story. He stayed the same from the start till the end his personality never changed. Look at a spoiled baby prince who just complain and blames his dad to by the end taking responsibility for everything and wanting to protect everyone and sacrifice him self to save his country and the world at that point. That is what character development is. I don't think people quite understand the meaning before they type it trying to speak like it's relevant.

Same here, I see tons of love for #teammom. He's my favorite, with Prompto coming in second. Noctis and Ardyn are pretty good, too.
But I love Ignis. He's disciplined and can seem really stern, but it's clear he has such a soft, loving side. He tries to instill discipline but is obviously a pushover when it comes to Noctis a lot of the time. He really is more of a parent to Noctis than probably anyone. I love that gentle side to him. It's so clear he cares deeply about his team and would do anything to protect them.
I also like how non-judgmental he is. He's fine with teasing or pointing out mistakes, but he's kind to someone like Prompto from the start, even being the one to pick up Prompto's phone for him in the background. He doesn't lord his status over anyone and treats people from all walks of life with respect and dignity. He's even courteous to Aranea. When he talks about why he dislikes Ardyn, it's because Ardyn looks down on others.
I think he's one of my all time favorite FF characters. I'm not sure there's anything that ever made me feel the same way in a video game as seeing Ignis injured. I was ready to hold his hand and walk the rest of the game if I needed to, because I wasn't leaving him.
Ignis has been noctis' father, mother, brother, and friend. And i never noticed until playing episode ignis. It was this episode that made me cry so hard in the game. So much respect for ignis after realizing what really happened.
Prompto probably is my favourite because i can relate to him best (not that i was a nif experiment or anything lol) but iggy is up there too, Gladio gets dead last for me, I don't hate him but sometimes i just really wanted him to be quiet, I can only take people like that in small doses irl too
David JC ikr. there is a counter argument that gladio ignited fires in noctis and ignis tho and without him the party wouldnt have had the strength to overcome and been too "weak"...but im not so sure about that. here were the 3 milestones that sealed his fate as my least fave character...
1) he just randomly leaves the party and never says why. great trust issues.
2) he is a prick to noctis on the train during his grief for his dad and luna..tries to defend ignis but ignis basically says that gladio is being a prick imo
3) suggesting they leave ignis behind. this was the nail in the coffin for me in as like "oh no you didnt youre dead to me".
even his "it was all you" to noctis at the end is emotionless and kinda arrogant. prompto and ignis were far more compassionate at the end
You are reading these scenes wrongly though.
He is a "prick" to Noctis because it's his role to tell it as he sees it. He doesn't waste words, he's there to support Noctis into becoming the king as he's promised to be, there's no place for walking on eggshells. That's the role he adopted, to be the "bad cop" in situations where he feels the group needs one.
I don't think he was suggesting to leave Ignis behind at all, he simply wanted to see the resolve Ignis (and the other boys) have left after a setback like Ignis' blindness and the loss of Luna. He was trying to make it clear that they were on a path where half-baked resolve and spirit wasn't gonna cut it and if they couldn't bounce back from this, they would be doomed.
You shouldn't take these scenes at face value, I would agree that the scenes seem very ham-fisted (like Gladio leaving out of the blue, seemingly just to set up the promised DLC story arc) but there's very little questioning the amount of loyalty Ignis, Gladiolus and Prompto have for Noctis, they just have very different dynamics going for them and are fallable in and of themselves. But the ending really solidified their bond.

I'm not trying but it seems I am succeeding. I guess I forgot the ever important "THIS IS MY OPINION" part of my comment. Read the scenes however you want, as I said in the last part, I don't think you should take what Gladio said at those moments at face value for the reasons I explained.

I don't know, we know Gladio is Noctis's bodyguard from ingame dialogue, we have the motel rooftop scene from prompto where we get to know him better and we find out he's kinda an outsider. But at no point in the story we find out what Ignis's relation to Noctis is... If we don't watch brotherhood we have no clue who the hell he is!!!

1) his brotherhood anime episode. his struggle to become "socially acceptable" appearance wise and wont speak to noctis until he feels he has achieved that status
2)the scene where he says he has no talents and feels he is just an outsider
3)discovering his past during chapter 13. kinda like a vivi(ff9) moment
Yes we know this from outside sources, but literally nowhere in the game it is mentioned who Ignis is. When i had Gladio bodyguard scene and then prompto rooftop scene i was waiting all game for an Ignis scene to learn more about him but it never came.
No bortherhood = no clue who he is to Noctis.
I think even Prompto got butchered because there is no weight behind his reveal. it's forgotton 2 seconds later. Only Gladio has a straight forward role in the group.

I don't recall saying anything about Stella. I mean brotherhood, Kingsglaive and Omen trailer. Please don't assume my ignorance. I'm quite aware of Luna's role in the game. I may have only completed it 4 times so far. What I'm saying is that her motivations received very little screen time and are inconsistent between the other media of Kingsglaive, brotherhood and so on. A year after and here I am, listening to the video and reading the comments. Do yourselves a favor and play his dlc, goodness it was the most touching, most historically and character developed dlc so far and we still have Ardyn's to come!
Prompto, you are a beautiful boy with the kindest soul, but Ignis' resolves are so dense and after Altissia (and the revelations from the DLC as well) he became the best character in the XV's universe, same goes to Nyx Ulric!
ignis was always my favourite character. Not only because of his character development after he got injured but because of how responsible he is, how much he take care about noctis and the other members and how respectful, intelligent and nice he is on the other hand. And I also like it, that he is really funny and self ironic and also really strong in battles (most times I fight with ignis because I don't really like noctis' fight style)
It's surprising how Ignis gets such a low percentage!!! I was practically drooling over him from chapter 3 .i cant get enough of how composed he is. How amazingly he deals each situation. There's so much to learn from him
First of all fantastic video: the first I watched and I already subscribed, I don't need more to know these videos will be amazing.
Second: while Ignis is not my favorite character (that title goes to Prompto, who surprised me in so many wonderful ways), I'm glad there is someone out there telling the tale of the unsung hero he is. He truly is a remarkable character that goes through pain and overcomes it for the greater good; even though we can see him clearly hurting all the way, suffering not just from his injury, but also by the way he is treated for it, he stands tall amongst adversity and proves that he will do his best to overcome the challenges ahead, for Noctis, but I also say for him: while his devotion to Noctis is unquestionable, it always seemed to me that Ignis also had to prove himself that all what he could stand proud alongside his comrades, it was also about him being able to say to himself that he still belonged amongside them.
I think Ignis is kind of the personification of the term "brotherhood"
I bawled, cried, & became sad when he became blind while playing ffxv. I love the line he said to Noctis "Mum's the word.". And to this day i still have a SUPPORTING ROLE SYNDROME aka Ignis! Also very nice video!

The way I see the dynamic is this:
Notics is the protagonist, and therefore a blank slate for the most part so many people can see themselves in him. This is the main reason why they designed him to be able to wield every weapon.
Ignis: the brains/mother - Ignis is the strategist, but he also cares for the group much like a mother would, taking care of their diet & wellbeing
Galdio: the brawn/father - as shown in the video, Gladio seems to usually take the more forceful route when dealing with things and serves as the party's tank.
Prompto: the heart / younger sibling - Promto is usually seen as very excited about things and can be very annoying. Noctis & the crew will tend to feel like they have to look out for Prompto one or an other, but they are also more of a unit with him there.

Iggy was always my favourite, I found his voice so calming some how. Out of all the characters, I only bought his action figure which has pride of place, still.

Ignis reminds me of Batman's Alfred....and his scene with the group was the best scene in the entire game very true ...I also find that during battles he is always stays close to Noctis... sometimes in the fray of things i don't pay attention to battle dialogue but Ignis also shines there...
Maybe its just me but I felt that Costlemark dungeon had the most interesting dialogue between the bros...

My entire opinion of Ignis changed when, after the entire game ended and we were playing in Chapter 15, he got so excited when I made Noct break off an appendage from a crocodile, and he shouted, "Oh, hell yeah!"
It was so surprising and out-of-character, I instantly warmed completely up to him!
Iggy is definitely my favorite character and his episode is really fun and engaging. His willingness to go above and beyond for noctis is really touching

I love all of them Ignis included. FF XV wouldn't be the game it was if even one of them was missing. The game's best part to me is the strong bond's of brotherhood between the friends.

Ignis has quickly become one of my favorite characters in ANY Final Fantasy game, and my bar for that is set pretty high. Words can't even express the beauty of his story arc.
YYYEEESSSS Ignis is my absolute favorite and I am so glad to see other people appreciating him. I love him so much and it makes me happy to see that other people feel the same. His character is so bittersweet to me and I'm so excited to see how they expand on him in his DLC.

I may be a little late to the party here, but I absolutely ADORE Ignis & Prompto. To me, they are the two best characters in the game and Both Ignis & Prompto standing up to Gladio will always be a couple of my favorite scenes in the game.

Man you speak my soul, I'm glad that this is on my recommendation. ignis was the character that my first impression was meh but develop feelings for him over time. It's heartbreaking seeing him disabled but he keeps clinging to the group and at last overcome his disabilities. He tried to prove himself that he's capable while the other guy might give up in that condition, he clings to it. His character is vulnerable but his commitment and loyalty mean so much more, hence why I come to love him.
I like how you executed this video peasant, not only did you highlight important facts about Ignis but also how he became assertive and stood up against Gladio and the levels of development. Another amazing thing I love about Ignis, besides his calm and sense of guidance, is his understanding; he knows these things take time into and that greatness being thrust onto Noctis isn't something one just easily carries with being weighed down. This belief is contrary to Gladio's belief, who seems to believe he should embrace the role and accept it, just as he raised and born to become a Noctis protector.

Excellent job at explaining just what makes Ignis special and stand apart from the group. I love all of the guys but Ignis holds a special place in my heart.
Among my friends, ALL of them love Ignis. I hadn't even gotten that far while I was listening to a friend play that dungeon where you have to let Ignis keep up, and I was just listening to him sound so sympathetic and even talking about how Ignis was still trying to help them fight even when blind. When it was my turn to go through the dungeon, I couldn't bring myself to be impatient with him even if I tried. I was honestly conveying the exact same emotions I would for a real blind person. Also the sympathy was 10 fold because I fought against surguries and now glaucoma to keep from going blind myself.
