Being a former Wisconsin resident I look forward to these episodes every year from thp. The tradition of the Wisconsin gun season is like no other. Thank you Jake for an awesome video and holding up those traditions
I’m a former resident who still goes back to WI every year to hunt with family and I feel the same way. My fav hunting public video every year! So much nostalgia for the place and traditions.
Hands down the best videos to watch on UA-cam. I grew up in southern wisco doing deer drives out in the islands. Watching you guys being a back so many great memories afield. Looks like we’re gonna have to get the band back together and give her a go once again. Congrats guys keep making great content.
@@irdairframerI think we should have some sucks for deer hunting now. It's nowhere Near what it used to be, If you don't wanna leave the 100 acres, and don't shoot off. All your dough, you're fine, that's you. With all the dough tags, the DNR gives out it's sickening.
As a 76 year old Wisconsin hunter, this is always on top of my list to watch every year. I get to relive deer hunting season a second time. Thanks Jake.
Yes and the chick that shot her first buck in 13 years is exactly how most hunters act. I like watching hunting videos but the only issue I have is how ridiculous they act after they kill an animal. Nobody act like that ever or at least all of the people I’ve ever hunted with l. Yes we are all extremely happy to have made a kill and the feeling after all the hard work is every exciting but all the overreaction are just stupid.
Crystal earned great respect from me for right away remembering to put the safety back on in the adrenaline and excitement of the moment. So many videos on YT here where people forget being safe in that moment and forget to put the safety back on till later.
Hands down my favorite episodes!!! I love all the thp crew. But this hit home of how my family and friends spent opening days of gun season. After my grandad passed...this tradition just faded away. He was the glue that held us together.
Not to sound redundant with this comment, but these episodes really are special to so many people. These videos that document the traditional 9 day gun season in Wisconsin, truly embodies what the tradition is really all about. Keep up the great work fellas!
These are some of my favorite videos you guys put out, love Jake’s deer camp up home! Reminds me of the good old days when hunting was hunting! Keep it up fellas!
I love each and every hunt on THP but Jakes hunts in WI are some of my favs. Family, friends, hunting and the outdoors is what it is all about. Love me some Ted as well and can't wait to see what he had in store and hopefully he doesn't miss another big one. Thanks guys for all the great content...
Born and Raised in Wisconsin. What Jake captures well is the relationships that make Deer Camp what it is! The phone calls leading up to it and the stories from past hunts, told by the old timers who don’t leave the truck anymore! Deer Camp is a right of passage for a Wisconsinite boy in a time when those types of things are the last of a dying breed.
I sure miss deer camp with all the guys getting together to have some beers and swap stories. Sadly everybody got old and some passed away including my father, I can't walk like I used to so I didn't even hunt this year, but I still got the memories and several bucks on the wall to remind me of the good old days. Thanks for sharing with us Jake.
All I can say is... Congrats! breaking a 13 year drought with a nice buck ALWAYS works. The camaraderie makes me look forward to these "back home" videos every year. Keep it up!
I’m from Georgia and always enjoy this episode each season and starting a new tradition and gathering of friends is what it’s all about, making memories. Congrats to everyone on their harvesting a buck!
Perfect timing! I got myself out of a 3 year slump and shot a nice 6 pointer last night JUST IN TIME for my favorite video of the year!! Thanks Jake and the gang!
Love some good old midwest hunting. Just friends, family and wholesome hunting. No worries about trophy deer just feeling freezers and great full for every bit of it. Love it guys! Nice job Crystal, hell of a shot there!
@@REPR100 Why? Just let the forks and basket racks grow. Shoot some does if you want meat or wait for a bigger buck. Much more fulfilling and exiting imo.
Watching this video made me really happy, not only am I extremely familiar with the area you guys hunt here in Wisconsin, but I also hunt the same area! Very heartwarming to see Jake and his family keeping our states tradition alive! Keep the big boys coming in guys! Hopefully one day we cross paths while I'm out and I can get to meet you guys!
Great episode! It just makes me remember all the good times I had growing up in Wisconsin with all my Uncles and their families joining together to celebrate the hunt!!
Every year I wait for these videos. Being mostly a bowhunter now I was raised in the same traditions as your family and friends share and I still continue to share with my closest friends. Awesome video Jake!
The worst part of this video is that I need to wait 12 months for another one. As a WI resident this is by far my favorite video every year! Keep It up! Hope you guys have a great Christmas! Thanks for all you do!
Very much reminds me of my childhood growing up in Jefferson County Wisconsin, best years of my life spent beating brush down, doing drives...lol Love what you're doing ❤️
By far this is the best part of THP’s season for me every year!!! Jake’s family Wisconsin hunt. Always a great video to look forward too every single year.
Love this video but I like them all. There's just something about this particular hunt that means more than just a hunt. The tradition of family and opening day gives you a warm fuzzy feeling that's like Christmas morning. That's a great bunch of guys and gals to be around this time of year. Be safe out there people.
I look forward to this episode every year. The community Jake has in Wisconsin is amazing. I want to build a group like this so we can enjoy the laughs, the stories and the awesome deer hunts together. Great work Jake and crew!
Growing up doing this same stuff in Wisconsin I can't help smiling watching the Wisconsin videos. That was us back in the day. Now the tradition is different for me, but I'll always remember those days in Fond du Lac county chasing deer with the boys. Jake, cherish these hunts. Life happens and different traditions are born, but you'll never forget these days.
Absolutely awesome Jake that you are able to spend quality time back in Wisconsin with your family and friends. Like you said, it is not as important with the results of the hunt as it is the memories and moments spent with family and friends. Way to keep it in perspective and best of luck to you and everyone the rest of the season !
These are my must watch episodes and I do several times throughout the year to get me primed for the next season. The fact you guys are just up the road from me helps pump me up more.
I love these videos. I live in Wisconsin and this is exactly how it used to be when I grew up going to deer camp. I wish I still had a deer camp to go to but I enjoy watching Jake do it every year. I've been hunting public land all my life and hopefully one day I'll see some big bucks like the THP boys.
Nothing like a good deer drive. Congrats on all the deer harvested. Making new friends and hunting together is what it is all about. Keep videos coming.
Grew up hunting trempealeau county WI. Now live across the river in Winona MN. Our first season is a week prior to WI opener and luckily I got my buck opening day. Couldn't be any happier to see her drop that buck! Congratulations! I look forward to your WI episodes every year.
I look forward to the Wisconsin THP episode every year. It reminds me so much of my families hunting in west Ky years ago. Rifle opener was a big deal each season. It was more than just shooting deer. Time spent with friends and family is what it’s all about. Also you can tell that this property is not farmed for deer. Just good hunting and no big shots advertising. That’s why I like the Wisconsin THP shows so much.
I have been waiting all year for this episode. Like all other deer hunters, opening day of rifle deer is a day that can't come soon enough. Really enjoy watching Jake and his family and friends hunting that special day.
Thank you for sharing the economic impact deer hunting provides. I had to buy my THP hoodie after watching Ted’s pilot overheat. As always, outstanding video of WI firearms opener!
NEVER STOP making this annual video Jake!!! I really enjoy watching the hunts and especially love seeing you, your family and buddies having a cold one or two at your favorite watering hole!! Great video!!!
Love this, you’re right in neck of the woods in this video. I love it! It’d be awesome to have you along the next time I get the chance to do the disabled hunt to have someone capture my favorite thing to do, as I don’t get out as often as I used to ever since breaking my neck. Love your content Jake! Keep it up!
I really appreciate everything you guys are able to do on public land but i have to say that this video series is what i look most forward to every year. I hunt a box blind on a small property in north Georgia like this and it just gets my adrenaline going every time. You guys are always welcome to come down! I'm always needing help with doe patrol. Keep up the good work!
Like i said in my previous comments… this is my favorite hunt you guys film. It’s everything I remember as a young hunter. Gathering at the club and making drive after drive. Love it
This is the video I impatiently wait for every year!!! The Wisconsin 9day gun hunt! Best time of the year! Love the buck that the chic SMOKED! THAT THING FELL LIKE A TON OF BRICKS
We did this type of hunts for years and it always amazed me how some of the guys we drove bucks to acted later like they didn't need the help to kill it but this are joint effort bucks and should always be remembered that way .not just chris,s buck but the groups buck.
Always look forward to the Wisco hunt videos with Jake and his family. & friends. Brings back great memories of my hunting days growing up in Wisconsin..... thank you!
Brings back memories with my father and friends. Driving the woods and hearing the shots, knowing which shots hit money and laughing at those that missed. Good times.
That was both wild and crazy to watch! Ive never been part of a deer drive but, I can see why it could be a great time with friends and family. Thanks for sharing Jake, can't wait to see what's next.
Yup best video of the year opening day was a cold one but we sat all day and got a crippled buck but its a deer. Wait all year to watch the Wisconsin hunt and watch all of them the day before season love it
Couldn't wait to see how your family and friends did this season. It was kinda slow opening weekend in SW Wisconsin where I hunt, the cold and the wind was brutal. Shot a buck and a doe on Friday and plan to get out one more time with my brother after Christmas trying to get him his first deer.
People bash gun hunters so much but this is what I love about gun season. So many look forward to coming together and enjoying gun seasons across the states. So many family traditions and memories are made during gun season.

This is factual information. I get all sorts of giddy come this time of year just waiting for the ol Wisconsin opener.

SAME HERE!!
Sturgeon spearing ones are also fun to watch!
Me too!
Mine too!
As a 76 year old Wisconsin hunter, this is always on top of my list to watch every year. I get to relive deer hunting season a second time.
Thanks Jake.
This episode captures exactly how it felt to hunt when I was a kid. Everyone is excited for each other and so much comradery.
Wish we still had that up here
Right!!! So much hate and discrimination from the "real hunters". Its ruining it for the younger generations.

I really like how no one talks inches of antler on this hunt..... ever!!!!!! And the hunters are genuinely happy for each other when a deer is taken.
Every year I look forward to this episode of THP! I thoroughly enjoy every episode, but Jake’s Wisco rifle episode never disappoints!
6:45 that's my uncle Don on that buck board holding that big buck lol. He owns a taxidermy shop in Southern Wisconsin! Very cool to see.
Crystal earned great respect from me for right away remembering to put the safety back on in the adrenaline and excitement of the moment.

This series needs its own playlist. I wait for this video every year!
By far the best episode of the year. People just don’t understand unless you belong to a traditional deer camp.
Nothing says deer season more than when you share it with friends and family! Great video.
Love all you guys but Jake and the family hunts every year are what I look forward to the most

Being with fellow hunters is the special thing in hunting !!!

Probably my favorite episode every year!
This is one of my favorite episodes. jakes opening weekend hunts love the tradition. It’s the same way in our hunting party
This episode and the sturgeon spearing have become two of my favorite episodes I look forward to every year. Congrats.
This is what hunting is all about in my mind. Cutting up with your buddies, having a great time, and killing something to celebrate.
