Aaron, you are a true gentlemen sportsman. Congratulations on a fine Buck. Way to stick with it. How far was that shot? Also it would be ever so helpful if you guys would put yardages on the screen, it is very hard to tell how far deer are. It would give us a better perspective. Thanks THP!!

@@TheHuntingPublic Greg and you have some sort of chemistry. Your videos are very enjoyable to watch and I seem to learn something every time, and I've been hunting for almost 40 years.
Is that too old to apply for the position?
At any rate, thank you for another wonderful video.
Nice buck and an even nicer shot. Thing dropped like a house of cards.
Good swift kill. Congratulations on a great season. Happy holidays to the THP gang. You all kept me entertained this season. Still working on getting mine. 14 days left
@@cvongall66 good luck! Stay after’em
@@TheHuntingPublic Great Shot and with a smoke pole no less, what a way to break it in.
You’re a class act and that attitude simply can’t be faked. This is why I love you guys.
Loose the music. Never hear it where I hunt. Dave
THP are very deserving of their successes. Class act for sure!
I really respect your decision to let that guy have the spot the first day. Great attitude on your part. Good things happen to good people.
mi guy would have hunted it anyway.
I let a guy have my spot this year, shot a giant 2 hrs later on the other side of the swamp. Karma..
Pick Benny bank k Josie ok noovjogbibgo
I’m a brandnew 54 year old hunter out in Maryland. I ve learned sooo much from watching your videos. I have a new perspective of hunting and can’t wait to get out there, just yesterday I just walked miles in my neighborhood woods looking for tracks, sign, and of course a deer. Please know the your sportsmanship is making a difference.
I would loose my mind hunting in a pumpkin patch like that lol
It can be exciting

No way I'd wear that little blaze orange either, I'd be in full body with a orange hat as well and also may well strap one of those orange flags on a pole you can buy to my back as well.
You have the patience of a saint!!! No way I could even hunt around that many dipshits without hitting somebody with a shovel!!!! Congrats on a well deserved buck!!!
Looked like a high shoulder or spine shot which basically has the "grand piano" effect and they run, straight down. Warms my heart when the good guys win. Hail Mary shooter goes home empty handed. Life is good.
Aaron, top notch move taking the time to discuss where the hunter from Michigan was planning on hunting. Sportsmanship at its finest. He got to go to the spot he wanted and the next day you bagged a great buck! Things happen for a reason and this was proof as the orange army helped kick up some deer. Great shot on the buck and Greg great footage! Keep up the great work fellas!
Sportsmanship to a fellow hunter is becoming a lost art. Good job Warb much respect especially since you were there first.
So you're on a out of state public land hunt in Iowa, and when you're walking to your stand you run into Aaron Warbritton. You gotta feel really good about your chances.
Michigan should have yielded to Warb. Get up earlier or go back to Michigan.
“My stand is right back there” a little bit later...
“I’m from MI, it’s my first time here. Found this spot on the map.”
Oh I see!
@@doncook3584 I agree. The right thing to do when you get beat to a spot. Turn around and go find another.
I know if I ever run into the THP guys while hunting I know I'm doing something right. These boys are always on the deer.
I've been watching you guys for a little over a year now. The Iowa opening weekend episode is one of the more entertaining episodes to watch! I laughed so hard at the one hunter yelling at the deer to get out of the tall grass! Hunting public land opening weekend scares me! It's no different in southern Wisconsin....tons of hunters, so opening weekend I never hunt public land. I'd rather have the "sloppy seconds" on public land the second week of the season than hunt with a bunch of orange surrounding me!
Seeing that little buck slip and slide on the ice made my night.. lol having the opportunity to see stuff like that is why I love hunting
You beat him there and you let him go ahead. That's a class act right there. I've done it too because it's not worth the argument
That first guy that talked to Aaron didnt know he was talking to a whitetail smashing legend. Good stuff THP Keepnit coming and good luck out there. Be safe.
Aaron....geez man...you certainly teach by example. I'm often envious of how many deer you guys see in Iowa (you saw more in two days than I've seen all season), but I'm NOT envious of the hunting pressure. I hunt public land, and I see other hunters, but NOTHING like what you guys dealt with. Somehow you remained calm, unemotional, and most amazing of all - optimistic - and in the end you got your buck! There are many really valuable lessons in all that. Congrats! You guys are very special.
You're a stand up guy Aaron, giving that spot up to the Michigan guy. The buck on the ice was great... The stuff you see in the woods... Good hunt 👍
Dude...that was sweet, especially with all those other hunters around. Patience and experience on full display by the Hunting Public!!!
I’ve seen even my friends act funny when it comes to putting orange on. People act different when it comes to deer hunting that’s for sure. Hats off to you for the awesome sportsmanship. Not many guys would have done that.
I don’t think I’d be nearly as nice about another hunter pointing a firearm in my direction as you guys were. Props to you guys, AWESOME VIDEO 🤘🏼
Thanks for putting in the plug for the DNR managers who work their tail off and stressing the importance of CWD surveillance.
You guys kept a positive mental attitude. Hard to do with that lack of hunter etiquette.. Good job
Very impressed Aaron let the other hunter have the prime spot. Not surprised though, he is sportsman and all around class act.
Just found out about y'all a few months ago.. your show is probably the most real hunting show I've ever watched.. love how it's not one long commercial.. no cursing.. I've hunted public land all my life.. 56 old.. not all of us can't afford that hi, dollar hunting.. and you don't get one every time you go.. that's real hunting.. thanks for keeping it real... Roll Tide.
Awesome patience and great example of practicing safe hunting, true sportsmen!! Well deserved buck, we need more great people like The Hunting Public team!
Aaron ,hunting is hard to come by in public but to give up your spot for that guy to hunt his ,you got all my respect 👍💯
He did not give up his spot he don't own it, plus the other guy already had a stand up, it was the right thing to do.

10:16 is that Jake falling threw the ice again. Hahaha
My first year hunting Iowa (Michigan hunter) I sat all day and the drivers went by me about 11 am. At 3 pm all the deer that they had been pushing into a giant herd came back passed me. I got the biggest one in the group, must have been 50 plus deer and 5 bucks over 130". I got a 155" 13 point. It was a fun day in the woods for this Michigan boy.
Aaron, you set a great example for other hunters on public land. I think you did the right thing letting that other hunter hunt the first spot. Keep it up!!!
You've got the patience of a saint and the ethics and safety code of a true conservationist.
Tip if you're shooting a muzzle loader, when you're sighting in or just shooting paper with it, do a test where you shoot until you loose some accuracy, count the shots.
I've got one that'll shoot more than 10 times with no accuracy difference, I have another one loses accuracy after 5 shots.
Shoot your rifle, know your equipment.
Mine doesn't shoot good clean, first shot. I was taught to spit patch between shots, dry patch, then shoot again. Seems to work, 3.5" groups at 100yds. 100grn Triple 7 and 145grn powerbelt. I am new, just in second year, still trying to learn all I can of muzzle loaders. Seems like a .22 rifle though, always shoots better a little dirty.
I gotta say... I do not usually comment on video put out by people in media but I am very impressed with you guys. I am 60 and have been hunting deer since a boy and don't see many with such ethics. My compliments to you and your buddies on how courteous you all are. Can't say enough
I think i heard heart beats at 26:00.
Looks like Pennsylvania in gun season. Great job Aaron and congratulations. Look us up sometime to collaborate together.
After watching all those hunters you won't have to worry about me going up there lol
My favorite was the guy saying “ I don’t know who that is. I don’t know how he got out there. Had to have walked.” Lol
Love that y'all show the conversations of when to and when not to fire along with the clicks of the safety from Zach's video. Great reminder of hunter safety that we all need sometimes. Great job Warb!
I give that buck a 7.5 on entry and a 9.3 on execution. When your life is on the line, it's not always pretty. Lol Excellent shot Aaron, I did the same thing last year with my slug gun freehand at 90 yards open sights!! Feels good, real good
Not sure I'd like hunting in that sea of orange.... to many folks carrying guns
In my opinion with shotguns it's not so bad. Being in a sea of orange during rifle season is much more scary.
These guys are smart and most of all they’re humble about it. They just know how to let everyone else do their thing and benefit from them. Its a great tactic to utilize when hunting pressured areas. very smart to let the other hunters work for you.
I'll second that!! I'll stick with my bow.
The stats speak for themselves. It's incredibly rare for someone not participating in a stupid drive (people shooting at everything that moves) to be shot.
I don't have any issue with pushing deer in groups during gun season, but on public land the stakes go up quite a bit not knowing where other hunters might be sitting. Some fellas just don't seem to have an ounce of respect or smarts towards other hunters setups or safety. Just plowing through cracking off shots like ammo grows on trees. Don't get me wrong, I'm not opposed to pushing public. I've had more success getting deer down on public thanks to other hunters pushing them towards me than me finding them on my own. People just need to keep their distance and be aware of your surroundings.
"Greg, are you sure?!?" Lol, it's a blessing to be able to watch all of you adapt and overcome! Wonderful example of how we get back what we put in not only in scouting and planning, but in how we approach situations with our fellow man. Well deserved Aaron, Greg, and THP. Truly awesome!
That paid-off nicely. Way to stick with it boys... Thanks for taking us along for the ride, that was wild to say the least! Can't wait to see what's next.
Way to go Aaron, nice buck. Your sportsmanship is admirable. Thank you THP for all this great content and for your high standards of conduct.
Good video man like a war zone inIowa I thought Michigan was bad during rifle season on public land
Awesome buck.... This is why i bow hunt hard. Aaron shows a lot of patience here and again just straight up out-hunts everybody
Hello Aaron, congratulations on a great buck. One of the reasons I follow you guys is because of the good sportsmanship you show. Now I have a tech tip. I shoot a TC PRO HUNTER . Like you I had to clean my gun every shot or two to even be able to reload much less hit anything. Then I switched to Blackhorn 209 powder. And I weigh every powder charge. 20 shots without having to clean and very little if any accuracy change. Keep up the awesome work.
This video is a prime example of why I hang it up once the guns come out. :o
Same here, I let everyone blow out the easy to reach places then a week after it’s over I take my bow deep in the bush.
What a nice guy arron is. Nice buck aaron!
That is absolutely WILD. Congrats to you Aaron and I can appreciate what you did for the guy from Michigan.
Maybe I’m nuts but I swear I could hear Greg’s or Aaron’s heart pounding before he squeezed one off. Haha I love going back and watching these videos when I’m bored and sick for being out in the woods. Hell it might have been my heart pounding.
You showed great sportsmanship dealing with the gentleman from Michigan, tremendous safety dealing with a couple guys who obviously didn't reciporate and great marksmanship. Congrats. But as far as gun hunting public NO THANK YOU.
Pretty sure the buck at the 3:20 mark had a arrow sticking out of him. When he turns you can see it on his right side.
I thought the exact same thing
@@gunners4129 that’s the only thing I can think
Slow down the video and you'll see that it’s a corn stalk.
@@tracyfee6795 Slow down the video and you'll see it’s a corn stalk.
Dude. That is the wildest hunting footage I have ever seen. One of my cousins made it to the parking lot to hunt a WMA here in Texas during gun season. He said there were people in orange sitting in camping chairs with their rifles, and he turned around for fear of being caught in crossfire. Wild stuff. Karma man is good. I hope those knuckleheads see this video....know that you and Greg were within 15-20 degrees of their shot...and rethink their future shot selection. Jeeeeez Louise. Y'all are madhouse. Great buck to be pullin out of all that.
glad you participate in the CWD program.
Good job giving up the spot to the out of state guy. Sasquatch boogie enjoys THP!!
Aaron's such a stand up guy! 👊🏽💯
You guys need to come out to Oregon and hunt black tails. It’s tricky but you won’t have this much pressure!!😆
Very honorable Aaron by letting that guy have the spot you wanted. Very nice to acknowledge that he has to draw the tag. Bravo!!!
Anyone else hear Aaron’s heart beating before he shot? Nice touch.
Definite heart beat at 26:05. Love it!
Those bucks will let you step on them before they get up when pressure is high. Gotta get in there with them.
I have to say this HAS to be one of the best videos yet. Talk about patience, smarts, respect and just plain old doing it right!! All hunters can learn from this. Standing ovation!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was hoping you would show where the hit was.
Your attitude and the way you responded to that first guy is a rare and awesome thing to see these days. Much respect and appreciation for you and THP. Love the way you guys roll! As usual, your patience and perseverance earned you a well-deserved opportunity! Keep up the great work!
Thankfully I own a nice big chunk and don’t have to play the public land game But that almost gives Michigan a run for it’s money on the amount of pressure!
Consider this vid the next time a father/son ask to hunt
@@MEADKD1 huh?
Nice video! Well done young man. Subscribed !
From: Outer Banks, NC.
Good display of patience and kindness to other hunters. Can’t imagine seeing that many other hunters in the woods. Crazy. Great video 👍🏼
What a class act you are and safe hunter. Good lord you wouldn’t shoot towards those hunter but they didn’t think twice to shoot your direction. Truly enjoy your channel and your videos. Congratulations on that buck.
My cva optima is accurate but honestly shoots best on the second shot with out cleaning it. I dont blame ya aaron you know your gun and what makes ya feel comfortable is what matters.
I have an Optima as well. I can get nice 3 to 4 shot groups between cleaning
If you shoot blackhorn 209 loose powder the 20th shot will be as accurate as the second one.
@@normanbontrager6999 That stuff is amazing, isn't it? I couldn't believe how many accurate shots and how easy to load it was after numerous shots without cleaning. It made my muzzleloader shoot more accurately as well. You could definitely shoot it 20 times in a row without any swabbing.
You don't have to clean after every shot with a ML. All you have to do is check to make sure you gun shoots the save POI with a dirty bore. I always check for dirty bore impact after getting the gun dialed in which I do on a clean bore. So far I've seen no impact change from clean to dirty. If you haven't checked that then you made the right call. If I do shoot a deer and reload while hunting I clean it immediately when I get home to stop corrosion.
I agree, been a muzzle loader hunter for a while, started back when percussion cap and flint lock rifles were all that was legal. The new 209 primers and powders allow you multiple shots without having to clean. In the past we would 'foul' the barrel and sight in from there. Then, on opening day, everyone would foul there barrels before we left camp.
Patience grasshopper! Lol
Great job sticking it out and using the "Orange Army" to your advantage! Congrats Aaron!
Love the way Greg always captures the early morning sunrises!
Great hunt all the way around!
Stay safe and MERRY CHRISTMAS to all the members of the THP Team!

Nice job Aaron. Love watching you and Zach. Very patient and knowledgeable. Always a good video!!
Man, that guy across from you guys scared the poop out of me when you were standing looking at the buck and then he shot. I thought that he shot at you guys. 🙏🙏🙏
What was wrong with that deers neck the one he filmed from the road a tumor or what?
Seen that too! Big Adam’s apple? 😂 Probably a tumor tho..
Abscess. Infected wound from sparring.
Pretty common just avoid meat from around the wound.
Feeding in tobacco fields. Got throat cancer.
Yupper I bet tumor
Thank you for highlighting the Jackassery of public lands... it’s entertaining watching you guys learn to hunt as you go
Great production, thanks for not editing out all your struggles. Keep up the great work, nice buck.
Nothing like the orange army.
Says he has a stand in there lol yeah right
Nah those Michigan guys come in and do that they don't have groups to drive with
Dude, you dropped him right in his tracks. Heck of a shot. Congrats Aaron on a great cool looking buck.
Missed a golden opportunity to call this episode THP presents "Bambi on ice". 😂
I'm an Iowan. Iowa's new regulation regarding tree stands on public land is a crock. May be set up 7 days prior to season and must be removed by 7 days after season. It gives an individual the legal right to public land. Bull!!!! Carry the stand in the day of your hunt and carry the stand out at the end of the day. No one individual should be able to "lay claim" to a piece of public land for the length of a season. If you want to do it that way, hold a public lottery and let that individual pay dearly for the spot. POLITITIONS
If they ever take it out at the end of the season ... It usually ends up with more trash in the woods. Beautiful forests in Northern MN but some spots are full of old trash in the trees ... Can't imagine what it would be if it would be legal ...
You’d never see that many deer in Washington State. Can’t imagine how fun hunting is with deer densities that crazy.
it is fun just watching hunters on open weekend. watching the big bucks get up behind the hunters and seek away.
he had a stand, not like he was gonna move it that morning. no since in sitting on top of one another, you made the right call. congrats on the buck.
Awesome hunt!!!! Great buck!!! And that fool that calls himself a hunter taking a pop shot at the buck from that far with other hunters behind him in his sight, makes me absolutely grateful I don't have to hunt public land. Some of them guys are just ridiculous.
This is why we cant have nice things in Iowa.
Reminds me of michigan public land. Frustrating
That buck you guys showed from 2018 could be that Buck's Daddy they look a lot alike nice hunt 👍👍👍👍
You fellas are first class sportsmen for sure.
Hey Aaron, I either missed you say how far the shot was, or you didn't say. Just that was the farthest you ever shot a deer. Keep up the great work!!
Thanks. 170 yards
@@TheHuntingPublic Thats a poke with a muzzleloader! Great shot and what a stand up guy letting that guy have the spot even tho you were there first. You were rewarded with a great buck as well! Congrats and I hope one day I get to run into your group during a hunt somewhere in some state!

Aaron, You are a good dude. I would absolutely love to hunt with you for a week or two. You could've just traipsed down in there and gave it a try but you actually obviously have a good sense of respect and just plain common sense. Good stuff man
EXCELLENT patience on that hunt. THP is FIRST CLASS all the way.
I can't believe that guy shot at him.
Agree. 🤦🏼♂️
You don't have to clean your gun after a shot
Certain muzzleloaders can be iffy on that second shot-so not wasting your guaranteed shot on a coyote is understandable
I'm always hunting on a clean barrel. Even with blackhorn the barrel can corrode. I want my 1st shot at the range to be my tell on how the gun shoots. Clean, cool, repeat. Its a PAIN in the butt but I dont want a "loaded" gun sitting for days with a dirty barrel. Every year I tell myself that this is the reason why we have evolved with technology away from muzzleloaders....
That deer on the ice was the equivalent of me ice skating for the first time!
