When it comes to gun season Jakes trip home to Wisconsin is by far something I now look forward to each year but everyone has grown on me over the years as well. 😢😢
But when we get this far in the season I now know the end is near 2021 deer tour is coming to a close…Bitter sweet December the dreaded orange army’s will hit the woods and us bow hunters will cheer on the bucks to live til next season..To think I waited 9 months for the deer tour 2021 season and the end is near 😢

Old photos. . Memories. And some things you can only imagine. Our grandfather passed away in 85. From a old propane refrigerator.. freak accident. Matriarch of our family. Owned a drug store in escanaba MI. Sadly missed. And honored at our camp.. it's more than just hunting. It's everything that we have left of him. And thanks Jake for sharing your story..

Cherish these days Jake. I too made the yearly ritual hunts with both my parents. Those memories are some of the most prescious of my life. Mom had to give it up a few years ago, her arthritic hands unable to fight the cold any longer. Dad turned 85 this October and was able to harvest a doe in Archery with a scorpyd crossbow. As much as it doesn't seem possible, the days of every family's tradition hunt's are numbered. Enjoy as much of it as you can, as the last hunt together will eventually come.

This is awesome! With the times being the way they are, it’s so wonderful to see that your family gathers for this tradition. Some of my best memories are from when I was a teenager and my brothers and I and some friends would go camping and deer hunting together. Seeing or killing a deer was only a small part of the fun, because we genuinely enjoyed just being together. Here in Kentucky in the 70’s, there were very few deer, especially in the east where I live. Now they are everywhere, and no one gets together and hunts like we used to. Enjoy these times with your loved ones, you never know who may be gone next season.

Can’t tell you how much I love watching Jake’s WI gun video each year. Being from WI I can relate to it all. There’s nothing like opening morning of gun in WI. Tradition like no other.

Love the tradition of deer camp! I have similar memories of my time in the deer woods in my home state of West Virginia.
It started with my grandfather and now my son is making modern memories with us.
He harvested a doe and a six pointer this November.
I never even put my magazine in my rifle as at 14 he is now the shooter in my stand unit he starts hunting by himself.
    Congratulations on the nice buck!

I am glad you guys put these hunts on here. Brings back memories of at least one beloved uncle who seemed to see giant horns on everything!! He was a very good trapper, though. He was a good shot, too. You just didn’t know exactly what you would find at the end of a blood trail when he said “It was a big buck!!” 😂
