More good conversation has come out of Drew making the mistake than ever would have happened if he had just come out initially and understood. I think what Shannon was saying is that the black community was so hurt because they felt betrayed by someone that they loved and who they thought loved them. I think he does love the people in that community but needed to learn more. I think that education, learning and changing minds is what we're going for here, right. So when a man makes a mistake and wants to learn more, let him change, you'd want the same for you if you make a mistake.
@@Josetipo28 Hope you love him more now. It takes a humble man to admit he was wrong and want to change. VinRoc Jean that’s the best thing about this show. You may not always agree, but having an honest, friendly conversation will help each other understand both points of view without animosity towards the other person. Respect all around
You might agree that in the fight for equality, blacks have always needed a few good whites...sorry, but that's the way it has been. Shannon legit going through each scene word-for-word; "Drew wants to speak with you." "Drew?" "Drew Brees" 😄
This video made me come around; I thought the apology was pathetic. I was wrong. Brees apologized for the right reasons. Great job, Shannon.
@BlueLives Matter people aren't blue... lol why would you value a uniform over people.... I'm black and I say ALL lives matter... because I can understand POLICE are the problem.. their militant ways will be stopped.. 1 way or another👮♂️🔫
So basically you were still willing to hate on Drew but only because Shannon forgave him you do? That seems like simp mentality
Yeah Drew still shouldn't have apologize this whole thing was stupid.
Greenkidd I think that’s an over simplification of what happened. It’s not because Shannon said he was ok so that means I should forgive. It was listen to this convo he had with the man which went and explained went further than his IG apology did and make a better decision about the man. Also Shannon didn’t completely give him a pass either. He said he needs to work to get it back because it would be a shame to see 15 years of service go to waste over a tone deaf misstep.
@Overland Journeyman Express you've never been in my shoes to tell me police aren't the problem... you ever been jumped out on and had guns pointed at you while standing in your friends yard... ever been told to lay face first on the ground and had your pockets searched without consent... you have no idea what I've been through to tell me police aren't a problem
Shannon, if you ever decide to run for any office, you will have my vote. Keep speaking the truth. Love you man.
Depends on his platform but as long as it's reasonable I don't see y not.

Why? Because he used to play sports ball and talks on TV?

I listened to this segment of the show live. Kudos To Shannon! I hope Drew “Gets It” and uses his leadership position as a way to be an ally. He needs to get this right from here forward. If not, the locker room and playing field will become so untenable for him!

OUR government’s suppression is not “color blind”. Polish people were never slaves on American soil. Were Africans the first and only people to ever be enslaved in the history of the world? No. But we’re not dealing with world history, we’re dealing with American history and how it still impacts us today. Your “guilt” is your response to that history.
I loved Drew soooo much until he laid that egg last week.
@@Josetipo28 Hope you love him more now. It takes a humble man to admit he was wrong and want to change. It will take a lot of prayers, forgiveness and humility for everyone through mistakes and conversations for there to be real progress made. We've got to let people stumble as as they try and walk and keep encouraging them rather than condemning when they are trying to change and grow. It's difficult for anyone to really understand another's situation until you've walked a mile in their shoes.

One lost life is too many. But when you focus on a dozen tragic losses of life while you ignore 100s.....whos really clueless? You might agree that in the fight for equality, blacks have always needed a few good whites...sorry, but that's the way it has been.
