Well it was the pick of the Star Destroyers in the Empire at War Forces of Corruption game until you got the Executor, obviously that was based upon the original legends Thrawn
Is the Chimera the first Imperial II star destroyer we see in live action? I noticed it has the Imp II communications array on top at least-no good shots to tell if the other details match up (turbolaser turrets, etc) Always thought it was odd how reluctant Disney seemed to splurge on a model for the Imp II and kept reusing the Imp I since Rogue One. Don't get me wrong, I like the Imp I more than the II, but the latter is the one with by far more screen time in the OT, it was weird to see the updated model effectively extinct in Disney material for so long.
no, Avenger, Tyrant, pretty much all of the ships of Death Squadron at Hoth and most of the ISD's at Endor were ISD-IIs. Devastator and the two ISD's at Scariff, were ISD-Is. note the slightly different bridge towers. ISD-Is had what vertical array in between the shield domes, that some called a tractor beam which wouldn't make sense since the hanger bay is on the bottom of the ship. All other ISD's and the Executor had the horizontal communication array in between the shield domes.
@@Farlomous I should clarify. I meant Live action *under Disney*. Every other ISD I'm aware of they have used up until the Chimera here is an ISD I. I'm aware of the physical differences on the models (I mentioned the comms and turbolasers in my post)
Always kind of found it a dumb idea to take a ship as large as n ISD (and similar) that low into a planetary atmosphere. Plus hated how the CGI toons always made them look so small and then.
Great video I didn’t know the chimera had so much lore you explained it perfectly
Glad you enjoyed! Thanks for the comment ❤️👋
That he commanded such an important ship shows how important Thrawn was to the Empire. His loss was a great defeat.
First like, first comment - Very nice video! And thank you for the lore explanation.
Glad you liked it!
I hope the next time we see the chimera it's in a space battle in canon .
