@@funninoriginal6054 yes of course. Abilities is like the 2nd most important aspect of a pkmn. Movepool > Ability > Typing > Stats. If the movepool is shit, the pokemon will suck since it has no options regardless of the other stuff. (Like a pkmn with 150 in ATK and 30 in SpA but only has Giga Impact as a physical move will always be shit) An ability can make a subpar pokemon very powerful (See Azumaril as an example) or unlock options that can make a unique strategy.(Prankster, any of the weather creation abilities Unaware and so on...) it also nerf strong pkmn that would otherwise be really strong, see Slaking. (There's a reason why 1v1s have banned certain abilities) Typing can hurt pokemon a lot. Or make a sweeper much more bulky. Or give them very strong STAB options. As long as the stats are good for its role, it's gonna do fine. See Sableye as an example of a PKMN that has great movepool, amazing typing and fantastic ability. In fact, it was one of the pkmn that were so strong, they had to nerf dark type (By bringing in fairy) & nerf prankster (By making dark types immune to it).
@@TheRedAzuki Disagree, Abilities > Movepool hard. A pokemon can have a shit movepool and still be good, Regileiki and Spectrier have literal shit, almost pure mono movepools and are still super prevalent (At least Spectrier was before getting banned) But if a pokemon has a shit ability, then it's borderline unusable (Regigigas, Slaking, non hugepower Azumarill)
I used to run that set on Clefable, except with Unaware. Even though magic guard is generally a better ability, people usually wouldn't try to status me because they assumed it wouldn't work. I've always been tempted to pick up a Clefable with it, too, and this might be what finally pushes me to get one. Glad YT recommended one of your vids. I love seeing your strategies!
A fucking what? Bro alakazam is a beast as it is wdym 😭😭
Magic guard and Unaware are both amazing abilities for Clefable. Really fun mon to use and good access to setup moves. Got a magic guard, life orb(amazing with magic guard), calm mind clef in randbats recetly and the opponent had mostly special attackers left at that point. Easy sweep after my clef was toxic'd and leech seeded as well :)
Crazy how far a great ability, solid moveset, and type change carry a Pokémon with pretty mediocre stats. Clefable isn't threatening outright, but damn does it snowball out of control fast.
Wait, does Magic Guard negate Life Orb damage?
@@funninoriginal6054 yes of course. It also negates entry hazard damage (but not sticky web slowdown) and contact damage on mons with rocky helmet or rough skin equivalents like garchomp and ferroseed. And no hail/sandstorm damage. So it's almost like heavy duty boots and pretective pads and safety goggles items as well. Also removes self damage from moves that hurt yourself like double edge (but not from moves that kill you like explosion used by self and perish song since they don't "deal damage" but instead instagibs you directly. ALL non-direct damage sources are disabled, so there are plenty more examples. It's really strong and gets even stronger and scary the more examples you can come up with.
@@funninoriginal6054 your mind blown profile picture is really appropriate here since that's what magic guard continues to do over and over :)
Hello there, are abilty removers (gastro acid etc) and mold breaker available for this game and generation, ty
Really had me dying when he said GG and immediately after sent out Regigigas into the boosted monster that was that Clefairy. Simply beautiful
I just realized if one of these guys were smart enough to have a Pokemon with Perish Song on their team, most of temp6t's strategies would be null and void.
This never gets old
I mean, this vid is only about 40 minutes old. But seeing nubs just get salty at stuff like this is hilarious and never gets old
I'm thoroughly convinced that these people don't see the glaring green banners showing "4xDef, 4x SpD, 3.5Atk" and scream, "wHeRe'S mY DaMaGe?!"
I'm sorry if that's toxic...
Pretty sure It was about tóxic and seeds
@@Leonardodeboni0406 I meant if my comment was toxic
@@annoying_wendigo2122 he means when the guy said "where's my damage" it was in response to toxic or seeds not damaging clefable
@@izabela8686 oh oh oh! My mistake; I misunderstood.
@@annoying_wendigo2122 all good 👍😊
I didn't realise that you were Drop a Draco; I beat you today in National Dex AG when you were doing Arceus sweeps. (I was w9w)
I almost had hopes for the newb having a change of heart if/when he realized it was legit..... so much for character development...
He did find out. Tbf not knowing one ability happens. Not noticing an opponent getting swole while you sleep is...
@@gluttonousgoddess I misworded what I meant. I take issue with the newb's entire attitude.
He sat there like a Shonen character, wondering why his strat was failing and immediately assumed his enemy was cheating, rather than using any of his other Pokemon to do something else. And then has the balls, once he understood it, to say that it should still be banned, when like 300 of the 800 Pokemon that exist could have countered it. Haze, I think unaware; heck my favorite answer would have been a team with Krokodile, since it would have walled the enemy entirely.
But nope. He just sat there and let the enemy achieve his perfect final form and then acts surprised about it. He gave the Clefable like 6+ full turns to set up, and his only response is to be toxic. I admit I'm not the best battler, but having the good grace to acknowledge tech isn't missed on me. I still laugh at how simple yet clever the Zoroark replays are on this channel.
@@DaDMonDCB to be fair to him though, he did respond adequately to a setup sweeper pokemon, by bringing in toxic-leech seed. for him, it was just unfortunate that this particular setup sweeper was immune to a usual strat.
@@CH-bd6jg not a bad strat normally... But after acknowledging Stealth Rocks did nothing, 2 turns of nothing from Toxic, and no returns from Leech Seed, then playing stall with Venusaur further while wondering why it isn't working, I don't know how much respect I'd be willing to give him.
I'm not sure what the most powerful attack on his team is, or if any one on his side could boost, but I wonder if that could have been winnable if, after the toxic did no initial damage, he immediately brought something else in and attempted to gain some boosts, possibly combining that with Dynamax (if available in this format, which admittedly it might not be).
I used that ability with my alakazam got a lot of hate messages
When you think about it, isn't getting called a hacker an testimony to your skill in a game(s)?
I remember this happened to me the first time
"It's okay. I didn't get it the first time either"
At least he understand why his toxic and leech seed didn't damage you, he seems a little calmed after knowing the truth, he still got a lot to learn :]
I like how he calls him toxic eventhough he only said "Yep GG". Not to mention that he was the one who called him cheating ass lol.
I never really gave abilities much thought.. haha, but I also never play Pokemon competitively, so I guess it’s okay.
It’s crazy to think that abilities can have such huge impact! I only ever think ‘Oh, as long as my move is effective, then I should win’ 😂
Tbf, that is on storymode. The ungabunga strategy
Some Pokemon have had huge success in tournament play through changed or buffed abilities alone. Abilities are great
Abilities is like the 2nd most important aspect of a pkmn.
Movepool > Ability > Typing > Stats.
If the movepool is shit, the pokemon will suck since it has no options regardless of the other stuff. (Like a pkmn with 150 in ATK and 30 in SpA but only has Giga Impact as a physical move will always be shit)
An ability can make a subpar pokemon very powerful (See Azumaril as an example) or unlock options that can make a unique strategy.(Prankster, any of the weather creation abilities Unaware and so on...) it also nerf strong pkmn that would otherwise be really strong, see Slaking. (There's a reason why 1v1s have banned certain abilities)
Typing can hurt pokemon a lot.
A pokemon can have a shit movepool and still be good, Regileiki and Spectrier have literal shit, almost pure mono movepools and are still super prevalent (At least Spectrier was before getting banned) But if a pokemon has a shit ability, then it's borderline unusable (Regigigas, Slaking, non hugepower Azumarill)
lol imagine getting the chance to actually read about an ability you don't know of after crying the opponent cheating and still don't get it
the feeling when people forget clefable has magic guard. They must have a certain ability as well
Unaware or Oblivious?
I used to run that set on Clefable, except with Unaware. Even though magic guard is generally a better ability, people usually wouldn't try to status me because they assumed it wouldn't work. By the time they realized what was going on, I would usually be able to use stored power and OHKO anything they had. The only problem is if there were hazards out since that's a giveaway. But, now that heavy duty boots are a thing and rapid spin is buffed, it's less of an issue.
that moment when you have never heard of magic guard.. i didnt even know this was one of clefables abilities i only knew it from reuniclus
Yea honestly that ability seems super busted. Honest question to someone who barely plays this game how the heck do you counter that?
@@Kiran-yx7ji guaranteed kill moves. I think Perish Song counts, it's either because it's from an attack or it's not damage, but a status. OHKO moves too. Destiny Bond is like Perish Song.
@@gluttonousgoddess ahhh good to know thanks
love that this guy clearly has no understanding of the basic functionality of multiplayer Pokémon, and gets incredibly toxic only to call you toxic

Bro I haven't played Pokemon in years... but something about your skill, the reaction of your opponents, and the editing, makes your videos addictive as hell 😭💀 finally subscribed after watching a lot of them. Keep up the great content brudda!
Cosmic Power 'Mons are why I'm happy with my Crit set for Inteleon, which bypasses all (special) defense boosts.
I really enjoy watching these videos while half-remembering my very brief time spent learning about competitive strats. It's fun to be like "wait why isn't he taking toxic damage? OH RIGHT that one ability."
I'm low key thinking of masquerading as a salty noob and challenging temp6t because the best way to get better is to challenge good players
remember friends, taunt, encore, haze, and unaware are all exceptional counterplay to these sorts of shenanigans
I love he isn't salty like other people on showdown
They really said GG and sent out Regigas lmao. Absolute chad
Hello everyone, and welcome to this TedTalk: “learning about *Magic Guard* (ability) - a demonstration”
The background music brings me back and is missing the consistant "WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOOPIE" of Mario sliding and slipping
This is why i use alakazam vs noobs
I love the moments when you tell them what's actually going on and they're like "oh shit"
D-did he try to dragon tail his last Pokémon to make him switch?
He used dragon tail on a fairy type.
I think most of the ppl who watch this kinda videos are casual players, so is rlly good to see comments that clarify things like the one we see here or other like why some attacks that clearly say "can´t miss" misses or a metal pokemon getting the status toxic or a pokemon full buffs get sweep
so thx for thinking about us, the casual players TU T
So did you get banned for using an enraging yet totally legit strategy? :)
The part that literally made me giggle was this noob not understanding Magic Guard. I watched the rest of the video with a smile after that.
that guy:so toxic
me: funny coming from the guy that literally used toxic
Well I am gonna sub :)
Like his clefable, temp absorbed all that toxicity and was not affected
It is starting to seriously piss me of, how many players get angry, calling someone a hacker, instead of just freakin asking about the set.
Most of these are skits
"your team should be banned" -a national dex AG player
The proper reaction to seeing a 2 pokmeon team
*FEAR*
Also, it's hilarious how people still use stealth rocks every time.
"whErE iS MY dAmAGe?"
You need a MRI to figure that out
"*Where is my damage?*"
Man really saw 4x Def. And 4x SDef. and went Huh wonder what that does
The Mario sunshine music has me rolling with the serious nature sound effects
Sending regigigas after the crit was a certified hood classic .
you should've hit him at the end with " 2 protects in a row? You're cheating!" lol
“YOUVE BEEN BLOCKED” makes me laugh or smile everytime idk why
It's funny when they are mad because all he's doing is playing by the rules instead of using the strongest and coolest Pokémon
> You have to be hacking
Says the guy with a whole team of shinies
What your opponent didn't realize is that Clefable had Magic Guard which prevented damage from Poison, Leech Seed, and Stealth Rocks.
It always amuses me when people just immediately assume you're a hacker because they can't spend a single second checking ability and move effects to see why shit ain't working.
Granted, I played from R/B to US/UM, so I've pretty much memorized all that stuff.
the mods every day when temp6t plays "uh not again"
This is what he gets for not having a Krookodile in his team to counter this clefable in particular
SMH🤦♂️
“YOU’RE DEAD MEAT” *[sends out the Pokémon with halved attack and defense]*
“Look at my ability. Now look at me. Now back to my ability. NOW BACK TO ME.”
Lol gotta love how they jump straight to calling you a hacker instead of taking 10 seconds to look up Clefable's abilities for an explanation
"Your team should be banned"
"I agree"
"I don't care if you agree"
Well at least you told him at the end. Better than leaving him angry and confused
"So it ISNT hax??? Well you should still be banned." Makes total sense.
The Super Mario Sunshine music really tired this whole thing together. Truly a certified Isle Delfino moment
Clefable’s animation vibing to the music made this so much sweeter
See I liked how this ended when it was explained to him it was not hacking he took the loss like a man if only a little salty. No one likes to lose. But no one called names and he learned a new lesson and new strategy. I like this some bit more wholesome then some of the other ones. (Edit)Also nice to see when some one can admit they where wrong.
"You're getting reported."
"And you're getting deported back to Noobville."
“I can’t beat it so it should be banned.” Kids got a bright future with Smogon
"Your team should still be banned even if it's not hacks." Lol took part of his soul beating him with 2 Pokemon.
"You're getting reported for hacking because I don't bother to look shit up."
