I have a confession...I'm obsessed with the underground. 😅 I haven't done the second gym and have spent an hour and a half down here because I want to catch EVERY POSSIBLE POKEMON I can, hahaha. This will take some time. 😂
I spent over 6hrs in the underground before returning to the surface after being forced down there...

My team is close to fully evolved and I haven't even gotten the 3rd badge yet, all thanks to the underground
I spent 120 poke balls trying to catch gligar only to realize I can’t have gliscor until I reach the elite 4.
I am searching for the thunderstone before the third gym for my magnezone i am underground for alot of hours now😂😂

When you hear that Togepi is a 10% chance of spawn, but you find it when you first enter the room.
It's been 9 hours. I've found 1, and my Kricketune hit it with a crit and killed it. I'm pissed.
@@stareater1870 I am not trying to make light of what you have been working on, but everything worked just perfectly for me. Found it first try, and caught it with 1 ball.

@@stareater1870 TBH when I caught it I was actually looking for a Ralts to use against the fighting gym. I didn't find a Ralts until later after I created a hideaway, and stacked it with Psychic statues.
@@dermywermy080 I FOUND ONE. Nature wasn't to bad, but it had Hustle. Healed my team and was like, "let's just do one more pass through, just to see". Got a 2nd one with Serene Grace. Going to try to get both to Togetic and then bred for the nature and ability.
Off subject, but the Ultralocke shirt just made me realize that with BDSP having such a good engine for moding games, there might be some great potential here!

The Underground is so much fun ! On my way to the first fossil I spent about 2,5 hours there. And I didnt get bored ir tilted 😅
Favorite part of a new Pokemon release is all the guides that Austin makes. He is my go to place for most things pokemon related. Cuz whenever I have a question, he always has the answer in a detailed, well composed video with all the required information in an easy to follow manner :D

i've spent probably close to half my logged hours in the underground by this point in time.. didn't even realize the houndoom, lickitung, magnemite and swablu i got down there were even rare spawns! 😅 thank you for churning out all these info videos, things have def changed since gen 4 and these have helped a TON!

I got the explorer's kit, and the underground has probably been about 70% of gameplay so far for me. I love it so much.
Also using Absol as my false swiper! You forgot to mention the 4th move I love to put on him: Thief. He's the perfect hunter for completing the dex 🥰

I already beat the game
I spent two and a half hours today grinding for a Serene Grace Togepi. On the fourth capture, I finally got it~!

@8:56 not avaliable in route 214 in BDSP thats Platinum only, Only way to get Razor Fang in BDSP is post game in Battle Resort (Park?) on the ground or by Buying with BP :)
The Underground added my favorite part about SwSh: variety. This game is super repayable now because of the underground start options.

for the catching mechanics i figured out, that if u have a pokemon that is a higher level than the wild, it is easier, and if u the same or at least lower level it feels almost impossible and not worth it
Austin John I had a question about evolution items. First of all great video, informative as always. Secondly, can you find more than one evolution item? Like multiple protectors, razor fangs, or magmarizers for example?

All the stories I’ve heard is that Razor Fang is only available post-game for BDSP. I’d like some confirmation that Razor Fang is available in the routes he listed

I’ve had mine for a minute now, it’s level 34 and hasn’t evolved into its second form yet, I know it says happiness do I just need to use it a lot in battle? I know second ev needs shiny stone but wanna get mine into togetic
@@brettmcmurrer962 yep that definitely helps! Also, make sure to walk around with it a lot! It's the fastest way to increase friendship. Hope you'll have your togetic soon!
About catch rate in Grand Underground: I'm pretty sure it's a lot more difficult if your pokemon's level is lower than the opponent.
This would explain why they are fighting back so hard.
They are eating so many of my balls.

WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT, HOLD UP: What was that early camera pan shot in the beginning? That was TIGHT.
The one thing ab BDSP that frustrated me is really still the whole pre-second gym situation. Heck even all the way into the game I'm almost at gym 8 and I've seen maybe 2-3 catchable fire types (Diamond) this entire time. You would think they could just throw a growlithe on one route (or underground) throw in maybe Cyndaquil early game underground to both do that "2 started wow!" thing they've been doing as well as to show off before Legends Arceus. I can't think of more atm but you get my sentiment.

If you grab a scyther from the underground that has wing attack he can easily solo the grass gym. Only had to hit the last pokemon twice.

After hours in the grand underground, I can tell you Elekid and many other Pokémon are not subject to one specific biome. I’ve seen Elekid in ground, rocky biomes, plain, even fire caves
Immediately after watching this video, I went to look for an Elekid! The first Pokemon I found in the gem room was an Elekid! I caught it! It is Adamant nature, is holding an Electirizer and has the egg move Cross Chop... I have no idea how I got thaaat lucky?!?!

My high score on shiny statues is 11, I got super lucky and most of them were in the first 3 holes. I was doing terrible at digging until I saw this video

It is very frustrating how hard all of them are to catch at the beginning! It is nice though to pretty much have a full team before the 2nd gym. Also elekid can also be found in the whiteout cave, but you do unlock that later.

The grand underground is alot of fun. Whenever I start another playthrough I'm going to run around the underground a ton between gyms.
Atm I'm actually breeding my favorite Pokemon by catching them in the underground breeding em and leveling them up that way to get the moves I want from the evolution tree (they're all level 60 so....yeah....)

Did blow anyone else's minds when that old couple in the flower town in the beginning give you a Jirachi and a Mew
I found a Swinub my first time in the swamp biome & I brought it with me for the second gym battle, didn't do as bad as you'd think it did, he took out both Gardenia's Cherubi & Turtwig. I was accidentally synchronizing impish, I put my Kadabra in the lead because I needed it to flee from wild Pokemon & it was synchronizing impish so that's what a bunch of Pokemon I caught in the Grand Underground wound up with & it took me a minute to realize what was going on. I then switched it out & just ended up fighting instead of fleeing because all of my Pokemon at the time were slow. By the way, I only caught the Abra just so I could have access to teleport, I was unfortunate to get one with synchronize but it's fine, at least having that in post game might come in handy if I ever want to find a wild impish Pokemon to breed. I have to say, synchronize works so much better here than it did in gen 6, gen 6, I'm telling you did not work at all. Was trying to synchronize jolly for my shiny Dratini hunt & I phased 11 times, only 1 thing was jolly & it sadly was not my shiny Dratini, I forget the nature it ended up with but it was an attack lowering nature which made me frustrated. You're not dealing with that here thankfully, just be mindful of your lead party member when looking for Pokemon in the Grand Underground.

Ever since I went underground thanks to getting the equipment, I caught myself a lvl18 Scyther and no joke, he helped me one shot every single gym since. Scyther wing attack is so overpowered it's not even funny! He's 50 now and helping me catch the legendaries.
