I just checked on the DVD. Season one episode 9. They cut to that angle twice and yes he is just standing there plain as day! Right before the Skipper says if I go gilligan you go too! Right after that scene they show him again. 2 or 3 seconds each time and yes he is dressed just like the Skipper. Great find! That was fun!

@@ricknineg HI. The biggest blooper that went throughout the whole run of the series is the radio. 1- Since when does an AM radio need an antenna? 2. in one episode the Professor rigged up the exercise bike to recharge the batteries. I dont think there were rechargeable batteries around at the time. Also they probably the batteries they had were standard batteries you cant recharge. Correct me on the battery part but I know AM radio does need an antenna, :D

It's been about 30 years ago when I visited Hollywood and took one of those tours. I remeber driving in the bus on the highway and the tour guide mentioned that over the side of the highway down below where we were driving was the actual "lagoon" from the Gilligan's Island show. Do you think that was true? It did resembled it from up above. And the highway was up high enough where it would not have been visible when filming.

The building in the end credit is Studio 2. It was the sound stage for all the cabin shots. The lagoon was the only part outdoors. It's a backlot and they were limited to shoot times as there were homes and a highway literally next door. They also had to contend with aircraft flying overhead, basically noises not conducive to a deserted island.

A blooper I noticed as a kid was the episode where they were running a out of citrus fruit. Gilligan dreamed of Jack and the Beanstalk. Skipper was the giant in Gilligan's dream. As the giant chased Gilligan around the wooden crates of oranges he ran between the Giants legs. You could clearly tell it was a little kid dressed as Gilligan.

The person who was sitting in the chair who gets hit in the head by Mr.Howell was Alan Hal who just happened to be walking past at the time the scene was being shot. Several sat for the scene effect double invluding most of the cast members and myself ( 14 years old and too short for the camera to pick up the top of my head). There was a strike at the time and no one wanted to be shot in the scene until the strike was over. Alan broke the rules and sat for the scene.

I see a lot more bloopers on old shows thanks to having a much bigger television than I did back in the day. Rick Nineg, I can't believe that you or nobody else has ever caught the holy grail of all Gilligan's island bloopers. I am not sure which episode it's in, but I Remember it's a color one. Gilligan is in the island bath tub and Skipper walks up and looks in the tub and starts talking to him. For 1/8 of a second the water clears and you get a shot of Gilligan's little Gilligan. Now I assume he would be wearing swimming trunks, but it sure looks like it. Maybe it's his thumb? Check it out.If this is true you'll have over a billion subscribers.

I still think one of the strangest things that roughly might be considered a blooper is the fact that in one or two episodes, they used an electric record player even though there was no way to power it. I think once was during the beauty contest episode. Usually they used a wind up record player made from parts of the SS Minnow, certainly a more plausible (if still unlikely) premise.

Sometimes I think they show buildings on season 1 also. They always show a background of the island. But to me I look on the left and see what looks like
a building, a peaked roof or something, maybe a golf course?

During the blooper at 4:00, I found it interesting that the raft did not sink in the middle where the gold was it sank because the outer edges of the raft deflated. If the gold was the reason then the raft should have gone down but yet the boxes with gold stayed on the raft without sinking. You might have mentioned this before and I did not catch it. What is your thought on this?

Just remembered a blooper on Gilligan’s Island. The episode where the Mosquitoes landed on the island you see them all on the beach with bags and instruments then you see a small two seater helicopter departing. Must have been pretty cramped on board. Ha!!

Vitto Scotti had another, creepy role in a different episode. I think he was also the mayor of Volta Fiore, the Italian town where McHale's Navy was based after leaving Taratupa in the Pacific.

Yes I agree my fav too is the mysterious extra person on the set! But even as I watched this show as a young child i did notice more than once bloopers that showed some of the studio buildings. You actually showed one in one of these I did remember. :D

I remember seeing that guy standing there, always got a chuckle out of that. There's a similar blooper in the original "A Christmas Carol" movie when Scrooge wakes up on Xmas morning and runs to the mirror, you can clearly see a stagehand or producer standing in the background wearing old fashioned headphones. They blanked it out on the cleaned up digital version but it used to crack me up as a kid!

Wow....how do you catch these bloopers? I have watched these Episodes tens of times and I Love Lucy episodes perhaps 100's of times each and I NEVER saw ANY of these bloopers. Amazing!!!!!

As a kid watching this show in reruns in the 1970's on a low resolution 12" black & white tv with sketchy rabbit-ear antenna reception, there were no bloopers.

I wonder if the man standing on the shore is a lifeguard getting ready to jump in in the event one of the cast can't get out of the water safely. Also, he looks to be dressed like the Skipper.

You may have already mentioned this blooper but I noticed one today. Season 1 episode 23 how to be a hero. When the Howells first visit the professor Mary Ann and ginger tied up the professor is in the foreground. But a few minutes later when Gilligan walks onto the scene the professor is tied up in the back ground on the other side of the girls

The creepy guy on the beach? Do you suppose he was sort of a lifeguard? But then again, in B&W he looks like an Alan Hale stand-in .
Several episodes involved castaways "running into" doubles. Gilligan, Ginger, and I had forgotten about the episode where Mr Howell is impersonated...did I miss anybody? For an island out of the normal shipping lanes, that island had more visitors than Grand Central Station. BTW, METV runs 3 hour marathons of Gilligan's Island every sunday, I am guessing until Memorial Day.

Great work Rick! I remember the hat with a string when I was a kid. It was so obvious I wondered if they did it on purpose! The man at the side looks like the Skipper. Are you sure he was in the raft? Maybe he was afraid of water.

The most Stark one I noticed was one in Little Island Big Gun I think,, Skipper, Gilligan and the Professor were tied up on cots and when they managed to stand up the Skipper's ropes dropped off so he had to hold on to the cot as he walked to hut door while all his ropes were dangling. Had he just let go of the cot he would have been free.

There was a script written where the castaways find the wreck of an old USO ship and are able to get a lot of the things form it before it sinks or drifts away. but the producers thought that it wasn't needed to explain anything, that no one would care where they got all the clothes and other things that they have on the island.

In the earlier episodes of the opening credits these would be the B&W episodes if you look up in the upper left of the airial shot of the island of which I believe they shot the pilot in Hawaii you can clearly see buildings breaking the outline of the jungle up on the ridge.
