Joe Flynn was a lot funnier than I would have thought. I suppose that's a testament to how well he played Captain Binghamton!

Definitely - a kid getting home from school, doing homework, and then enjoying the best TV ever was great.

He was a great comedic actor well before this, such as on The George Gobel Show and The Joey Bishop Show. He also worked on radio and was in the Special Services during World War II entertaining the troops.

Thank you for posting these videos!
BTW, there is a misspelling in the title. The tv show was McHale’s Navy.
Normally I wouldn’t have posted about spelling but it’s in the title and I’m not sure if the misspelling would affect a search for the show.

I've watched this entire series multiple times and I cannot remember the two female characters at 2:55. Anyone have any idea what episode that was??

A thought just crossed my mind, what if McHale's Navy and Hogan's Heroes were set in the same universe. I mean both shows were based in WW2 so why not.

I grew up in the 60's. I also lost two uncles in WW2. I never saw anything comedic about the war.
