Lmfao at the “um actually” voice. AT is my fav rogue subclass to use whenever I actually get to play lol but I’m somewhat apprehensive about how mage hand could be limited in the context of a video game vs the incredible freedom of the tabletop setting.
@@Ghostzapper there’s so many options that I have decision paralysis lol but I think I’d like to try an AT out! Is there a class/subclass/multi class combo you’re itching to play more than anything else?
@@piper5486 Afraid a bit of the same for me. Although! Been mulling over 'recreating' one of the handful of characters I've made for games that never ended up starting. Not got it narrowed down to which one, however. lol. Always seemed like the characters I was most jazzed to play never saw a session.
@@Ghostzapper This is such a mood haha. The worst is when there's one session and then scheduling conflicts put everything on pause until it's eventually canceled outright 🥴 I had an AT Rogue that I was able to play in a one shot like a full year ago and that's basically the last time I've been able to be a player in 5e 🥲
Astarion gets the High elf stuff which is decent for him, free cantrip and free use of longbows and certain martials. Wood Elf is also decent for additional movement if you're a melee rogue, it's a nice little bonus but nothing too impressive. Now, Gith.... Gith is OP for just about any build, I think they maybe overtuned them a tiny bit to convince more people to play them (I am guessing they added a lot of interactivity in dialogue/RP but relatively few people were playing them in EA or something? Not sure). Why? Well, you get a whole slew of nice proficiencies for weapons and light and medium armor for free, along with a decent cantrip, along with... this is the big one, especially for rogues or any character where you'll be making skill rolls a lot... you get an ability (Astral Knowledge) that, once per long rest, give you proficiency on all skills that fall under an ASI of your choice, until your next long rest! That's SUPER strong. So if you choose Astral Knowledge Wisdom for that day, you'll get proficiency on EVERY skill that falls under Wisdom, ALL DAY. SO strong compared to what a lot of the races get. I wonder if Larian will tweak some of that at some point? Because now that they made the changes to the way ASIs are globally handed out at creation, when comparing what a Gith gets versus what, for instance, a Shield Dwarf gets.... it's literally a hundred times better. Maybe more. There's no reason to pick certain races pretty much ever now except for RP. Anyways I'm rambling, but yeah there are a bunch of good choices.

I hope they give enough scenarios to make you feel validated for the choice if that's what you're leaning towards!

Hahahaha! 😅
good video
Thank you!
Super solid video, deserves way more views
Very much appreciated. Thanks for checking it out!
Thanks for the vid. They need to add swashbuckler.
Thanks for checking it out. And that'd be sick!
Considering 2 levels of fighter, archery, then go rogue.
I really, really liked how smooth it was to go Rogue 4 and snag the Archery at Level 5. But only cause I got 2 hand crossbows real early!
Nice
Did I miss the ability choice to start with? And no words om the race to play? Did miss that :)
I'm just giving the role to Astarion, but for a custom character/re-spec, it's pretty much pick your preference.
