Love homemade cosmetics, I make my own beard oils and a few other things, but it has to be taken with 100% seriousness. I dont know this woman and am only basing any opinions off a 30 second short, but the fact she is dropping in oils by eye with no measurement whatsoever is concerning. Know your weights and measures!! When using essential oils in particular this is crucial as you can end up harming people if youre too heavy handed. Here in the UK and EU we have strict requirements for safety assessment, good manufacturing practices and formulating with accurate weights and measures. Are things this slack in the US? Free pouring ingredients by eye is a big no no, even if you totally ignore the safety aspect it means you will have an inconsistent product! Oil products are a low barrier to entry for home enthusiasts and aspiring business owners, but accuracy is still important! If this woman is making anything containing water then I truly hope she knows what she is doing. Also, wear a hair net and gloves (which she is to be fair), personally I'd wear a face covering too. I really hope those hands arent dealing with bootie short wedgies while she is working 😅😂 (don't say that to be condescending, its a valid hygeine concern! We all are guilty of inadvertently contaminating our hands if not careful, gloves or no gloves) Thus isnt hate, just oointing out very valid concerns, based on this video alone, thats all i can judge by. I wish her every success but also hope she is following proper protocols, they exist for good reason.
US goes on cottage law if its labeled not to provide a medical benefit versus skin care. I agree she should be measuring. Its required to put on label its made in a home & not inspected. Her labels dont look like it.
Yes we have same manufacturing standards here in US. There are many DIY’ers that really don’t understand the scientific concepts and are not aware of the damages that can occur with EO, use. They are literally throwing together a bunch of different things with no rhyme or reason. Which is exactly why I just started my station this week to show DIY’ers how to properly formulate products for themselves and also and especially for others. I just watched a video where a girl had calculated 6% at .6, not .06. Me ---> 😱😱😱
Do you wholesale? Do you have a website? I'm looking for body creams that I can buy in bulk. They have a shelf life to around six months to a year. But I'm looking to buy a whole. lot. I would like for them to have a great smell. and to make the skin glow. for my customers also. At a good price that can be. competitors because places like Bath and Body Works are selling them for around $16 a pop. I need them for at least half that, but I understand it's a lot of work. I'm looking to buy these things for Valentine's and mother's Day. I have a lot of customers. say around two to 300.
I found your video very inspirational to what I’m trying to do I’m not trying to take business or get recipes from you but what was your first steps what did you do to get started making your body oil what was the first thing you did like is there websites is there a school I need to pay to learn how to make body oils its some thing I am all of a sudden passionate about please help again I’m not trying to take anything from you I just want to know how did you get started please and thank you❤❤❤❤
No hate here, but why is concern for hygiene in cosmetics manufacturing considered rude? It's essential!! There's a reason these things are generally formulated in labs, they go on your face and body, hygiene control and safety are paramount (essential oils can burn, allergen levels have to be ascertained and declared, IFRA restrictions on certain chemical compounds have to be observed which requires accurate weights and measures, etc etc). This lady's oil product shown here I'm sure is totally safe, it's a pretty low barrier to entry for home enthusiasts and entrepreneurs, but even so I would still question does she KNOW her products are safe, empirically speaking, or does she just ASSUME they're safe... big difference (I'm not passing judgement, I don't know her and I hope she totally knows what she is doing! 😊 But low barrier to entry also means anyone can do it, and most people know nothing about cosmetics formulation and chemistry, so it's all valid concerns to have. For personal use and friends/family, go right ahead, but if you are a commercial entity then this has to be taken seriously.
Question, I only have vitamin E oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Jamaican black castor oil, and sunflower oil can I still make body oil with these 4 ingredients only?
