Another great Two for Tuesday. Classic pair of knives. I will have to look up the 117 folding knife. That's pretty neat. Thanks for sharing Tom!!
You're welcome, Randy. I would like to learn more about the folding 117 myself. I appreciate you watching, my friend.
Great Two for Tuesday my friend! Love those Buck fixed blades!! Appreciate you!
And I appreciate you, John. Thanks for watching, my friend.
Great video Tom!! These 2 are very nice examples of some classics!! Thanks for sharing!!
You're welcome, Big J. It was a much overdue video. I appreciate you stopping by, my friend.
Hey Tom,
Great Two for Tuesday 👍🏻
A great pair of classic Buck knives 😎
Thanks for sharing brother 😎👍🏻
You're welcome, Sean. They are classics for sure. I appreciate you dropping by, my friend.
I need to add a 117 to my collection. Thanks for showing those.
You're welcome, James. I think you'd really like the 117. Thanks for watching, my friend.
Hey Tom! Great pairing for Two for Tuesday! That 117 is a good size for most tasks. I think I need to pick one up! Thanks for sharing eh!
Thanks KS! I think you would really like the 117. Thanks for watching, eh!
Both look fantastic. I keep telling myself I'm going to get a buck fixed blade but I haven't so far. Thanks Tom.
You'll have to take the plunge someday! Thanks for watching, Dean.
What a delightful topic for a Tuesday Tom
I’m home from the hospital and everything went great with the first surgery Thanks for your prayers and support
I love my Buck Knives and was floored by my 117 when I got it It’s a peach in every sense of the word and the one of the Buck Phenolic Hunter Family that I would consider carrying as a personal defense edc It’s small enough to be unobtrusive yet stout enough to hold it own and get the job done if needed
And as Kirby Creek well proved it can do everything needed for most camping and light bushcraft work
I say it was on of the best $74 knife purchases I’ve made
Thanks for your reviews and your friendship You bring out the best in the community and in others
You are a delight
You are very welcome, Terrill. I Agee that the 117 is a great size! I always appreciate your feedback, and I hope you have a very Delightful Day.
Great presentation Tom. Two great knives. Crow's Beak, good descriptor.
Thanks KCO! I never knew it was called a crow's beak. I learned something new. I appreciate you stopping by, my friend.
Birds Head Pommel. You almost got it :) I bought my Buck 119 way back in the mid 80's, when they where made out of 425HC steel. And its been a faithful companion for many trips into the woods. As soon as the Buck 117 was released in the standard format, I bought one. I missed out when they discontinued the 117. So I had to wait a few years to get one. If I where to go hunting again, I would take the 117 and 119 with me. Both good knives. I love them both.
Thanks for your comment, longrider! I think I am only missing the 107 from the 100 series. All love them all. Make sure and check out my Buck knives playlist. I appreciate you stopping by, my friend.
Hey Tom
Great buck knives, another great video thanks for sharing 👍
You're welcome, Terry. Glad you enjoyed the peek at these knives. Thanks for stopping by, my friend.
Very nice great classic designs! Great knives!!
Thanks Mike. Glad you enjoyed the look at these.
Beautiful knives! A great walk down Buck history lane.
And I believe that your new secondary UA-cam channel name should be... Professor Buck.
Lol. Well, I appreciate the thought, but I have way too much to learn yet. I could perhaps be a teachers aid. Lol. Thanks for watching, my friend.
Great knives! I like both of them. Have a great day!
And you have a Delightful Day, my friend. I appreciate you stopping by, RJ.
Thanks for sharing about these 2 classic Buck's. The 117 kinda looks like a smaller 2/3rd version of the 119. I think it would be good for someone with smaller hands or a youngster who's not quite ready to handle a 6" blade just yet. 👍Take good care my friend and Cheers!
You're welcome, ST! I actually find the smaller knives easier to use, and they usually will fit my needs. I appreciate you dropping by, my friend.
Great knives Tom. Can’t beat a Buck!
You sure can't, Stuart! Thanks for watching, my friend.
The 119 is my favorite fixed blade, but I'm tempted to add a 117 to my collection as well. Very cool piece! Cheers, buddy!
I think you would enjoy a 117, David. If you get one, please let me know how you like it. Have a Delightful Day, my friend.
Very nice. I am liking the looks of that 117 Brahma. I will have to check that out further. That and the 102. Thanks for sharing with us Tom.
I think you would like both the 102 and 117. I appreciate you stopping by, my friend.
@@knifedelights7473 oh yeah definitely. I still want the 102 over the Brahma though. You are very welcome Tom
2 Iconic knives, great 2 for Tuesday, Tom.
Thanks, Jose. Thanks for stopping by, my friend.
That's a nice pair I like the 117 just alittle more than the 102. Stay safe.
Thanks, Thomas. There is a lot to like about the 117. I appreciate you watching, my friend.
Started out liking the 117 cause its a perfect size but i do have 2 119s! I think love them all but both fantastic fixed blades. I feel really lucky to have 2 119 exclusives.
Yes, Andrew! You have some great Bucks! Love the fixed blades. Thanks for watching, my friend.
I was most interested to hear your comments on the Brahma Buck knives. I purchased a stacked leather washer handled Buck 119 new in about 1991. It came with a burgundy dyed leather sheath with stitching running up and down both the left and right sides of the sheath. There's no apparent nut at the top of the crow's beak pommel. I have no recollection of the knife being called the 'Brahma' but I do vaguely recall it being something of a special run. I also can't exactly recall if I ordered it online from Cabela's or if I bought it off the shelf from a sporting goods store in Gunnison, Colorado back in the day. Either way, it seems to be something of a rare 'bird' these days and I'm proud to own it.
I was confused about the Brahma's also. To the best of my knowledge, Buck made a special "combat knife" version of both the 117 and the 119. The 117 was referred to as the "Little Brahma" and the 119 was the "Brahma." I keep looking for both of these knives. I think you have a very special knife there, my friend. Thanks for watching!
Nice video, and thank you. I handled the Buck117, and it is redundant for me. The Buck 102 Woodsman and the Buck 119 Special are the only two fixed-blade knives a person needs for everything.
You've got a great paring there with the 102 and 119. Thanks for stopping by, Richard.
The Buck 118 is called the Personal. The 103 was the skinning knife. I have a 118, but not the 103. I have 10 Buck 100 series sheath knives, and the 110 folder. Yes I like Buck Knives.
Very nice pair
Thanks, Ray! I appreciate you dropping by, my friend.
I grew up in Louisiana, we always called the blood groove
Yes, it is a pretty common term, and I've used it myself. Thanks for watching, my friend.
2 awesome knives! Great video 👍
Thanks for watching, Jeremy!
I have a 105 Pathfinder with a bone handle. It was a Bass Pro Shop exclusive.
That's fantastic! I'm sure it's a beauty. Thanks for watching, Phillip.
@@knifedelights7473I enjoyed watching. I just recently picked up the 117 pro and have been a Buck fan for over 25yrs now. The 119 was my first Buck. I'm excited to see how the 117 pro handles tasks.
1974, I just looked it up.
The crow’s beak reminds me more of the “Maltese Falcon”.
I see what you mean, Rodney! Thanks for watching, my friend.
Id love them to bring the folding 117 back. But probably too close to a 110. They are about the same size. Just different blade and handle length.
A folding 117? Didn't know one existed! Thanks again for stopping by, Andrew.
Am thinking about 117 as a edc and as a mini ghostface knife
Sounds like a great choice. Thanks for watching my friend.
Just picked up a buck 119 brand new in the box from eBay for $47.
That's a good deal! Congrats on your new Buck. Thanks for watching, my friend.
Fun fact to confuse you more; The Brahma is a chicken breed, which are the largest chicken breed in the world. So calling the 117 the Brahma instead of the 119 is even more confusing in my head. Thought i shared that fact with you. Two wonderfull Buck knives to share, thank you Tom.
You're welcome, Jeroen. But please, I get confused enough on my own! Lol. I appreciate your comment and your friendship.
How does the Brahma compare to the Woodsman?
BTW the 117 is 2020 coded. Mine is farly new, its a 2024.
How do you like yours? I happen to think its a great pattern. Thanks for watching, Mr. Gean.
@@knifedelights7473 I love it!
I have 3 used ones and 2 new ones 119. Is that necessary probably not but what the heck. 😄
You can never have too many, Josh! Thanks for watching, my friend.
Buck 117 looks just as small as the 102 imo
Perhaps lengthwise, but the 117 has a wide blade with more belly to it. Thanks for watching, my friend.
