If you like all of what those builders do, try out super Mario construct. It has level codes, a community discord with featured levels, items from other games, and it’s just overall really solid.

Racing on Shroom Ridge and DS Mario Circuit in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe makes me feel like I'm playing Mario Kart DS again. Phenomenal remakes of these maps.

As someone who grew up with MKSC and ended up mastering the game, this video resonated with me a ton It really feels like one of the most rewarding MKs to play, with more and more to discover the longer you play the game. It controls so nice and tightly, but once you master the controls it's like that's just the beginning, and a whole world opens up of hidden mechanics and secrets to discover, like - braking to avoid spinning out like in MK64 (except it looks nicer in MKSC) - outrunning red/blue shells by maintaining top speed - some shortcuts (wall gaps or jump pads) that are hard to spot during normal gameplay (like the wall gap after the first turn on Cheep-Cheep Island-once you notice that, the patch of shallow water near the centre of the track suddenly starts to make sense) - which will then lead to you figuring out more and more advanced shortcuts, like bouncing over walls on water (which is when you'll realise how many tracks with water feature double walls for this exact reason, making single walls on water start to look very deliberately placed as an advanced hidden shortcut) It feels designed as a game that's very fun to put time into solo, to get better at

I remember buying a DS lite a bit of time ago, and I kid you not, it was delivered with the L and R triggers completely broken. The funny thing is that the only games I had at the time was Kart DS and 64 DS.

When you think of portable Mario Kart, you think DS. When you think of any Mario Kart game, you likely think of the first one you played, or 8. But I’ve never met anybody who instantly thinks this game when someone says Mario Kart, no matter what the topic is.
