Yummilicious! If you haven't tried it yet, what are you waiting for? Just made this tonight, it was fork tender. This is my new go to recipe for cube steak! Thanks Jaxx
Man that recipe ROCKS! I brought home cube steak and followed your recipe to a tee! Now I'm a pretty good cook but I married a man from the deep South and I just couldn't get it right. Not as good as mommas if you know what I mean! I got it right and he loves it! All I can say bout that is "whose yo momma now baby!!!" Tytyty!
Omg that quick release statement was classic! It flew over my head at first but so funny. But seriously your advice on pressure release was the greatest. I haven't seen any1 else explain it like that duhh! Thx so much! Lol
Great to hear Sandrea! Here is the written recipe, if you're interested: www.thebeardedhiker.com/cube-steak/ Not sure if you ever have some, but this works beautifully with deer too!
We broke in our new 6-qt Instant Pot with this recipe! My wife and I both loved the steak and gravy, especially with the mushrooms, garlic, and onions! Thanks for posting this video! This is our second Instant Pot. We have a 3-qt, but found that most of the recipes on UA-cam are for 6-qt or higher Instant Pots!
Made this again tonight... it’s pressure cooking now. Can’t wait for it to be done. Soooo excited. I cook my rice in a rice cooker with better than bouillon beef flavored. Then when the meat is finished cooking, I add the rice to the pot. It soaks up the excess liquid and is AMAZING!!! Just an idea for ya next time.
Made this tonight and it was Amazingly soft and yummy. I too had to add a little more flour to thicken up the gravy. I added a touch more cayenne pepper to give it more kick. Perfection. thx for the video.
Got to love the hokie pokie! Awesome ingredients. Don't waste any flour! Awesome cooked meal on a bed of rice. Meat could be sliced with a spoon, awesome! I know that had to be tasty!
Nice Sharon! I've heard many people say how good it is with deer cubed steak - I haven't had a chance to try it myself though. (people are very stingy with their deer lol). Thanks for watching Sharon and thanks for the feedback!
Made this tonight and it was SO delicious and tender! Thanks so much for the recipe :) I also added an extra tbsp of flour when breading the cube steak and the gravy turned out perfect to go with the mashed potatoes💯😊
Oh my gosh I followed this to the T and added potatoes and carrots just added more lawry's salt and omg my family went crazy over it. Thanks for this! It is now a family favorite it came out super tender. My bf even said it reminded him of his father's beef stew and it hit home for him. 😭😭😭❤❤ God bless.
Love to hear that Asmr in the Stars! It's still an all-time fav in my house and always on rotation but I have to say, I have never added carrots but I definitely will next time! Did you chunk them big or small?
Killer meal my Friend! Cube steaks are the best, next to some chuck roast! One of these days i want to get me one of those pressure cookers! Enjoy your night my Friend!
Get that pressure cooker! You will love it if you take just a little bit of time to learn how to use it. If you have an Amazon account, search for the Instant Pot* you want and scroll down to "Save to a List" and click okay. (You can make several "Wish Lists" if you'd like.) Make sure you have notifications turned on and Amazon will often let you know when any of your list items are on sale. *I cooked with a stove top pressure cooker for decades and LOVED it, but the new electric pressure cookers are basically foolproof and also I DO recommend an Instant Pot brand because the majority of the recipes available are tailored to the Instant Pot. I loved your recipe, but as a first time instant pot user it would help if you also showed how you do the settings and want to do the quick release. Looking forward to making this recipe❤️

Damn, it's good! Just made up a batch and the whole family devoured it ... kudos! We added chopped green onions and some cilantro to brighten it up, but it was damn good straight out of the IP.
One of our favorite meals. I have been doing mine in the crock pot for years but don't get that sear that really makes a difference in the flavor. Thanks for sharing I will cook it in our instant pot next time. Looks great bro.
Mmmm really? I find it makes a world of difference.. I find the flavor is deeper. I do the same with beef tips. It's not that much trouble in my opinion.
Hey Instant Pot Master!!! I love your concise and precise recipe of Cube Steak and Gravy. It's time to try it. You have a new loyal supporter who is curious about your future creative videos. Stay connected...
You can make your own Cube steak if you can't find it Albert.. it's just top round or top sirloin either will work. then just tenderize it with a mallet . Boom! you have cube steak!
Hey, brother, I will have a Beef tips recipe coming out soon. It's just as awesome as this recipe. I do already have a video out on the tips now but the quality is bad.
Love all the gadgets :) awesome for all those views on the old video ! This looks really easy and a great recipe :) Great tip for the hot pan and the oil. Did you day bacon squeezings?? Lol I have never heard that for grease. Delicious! ! Thanks for sharing :)

Pro Tip, no charge: Ya ever tried slicing mushrooms in an egg slicer? Lot faster than with a knife and uniform cuts, but Ya need a higher grade slicer. Just push them through with your thumb. I will so be trying this recipie. I'm really starting to fall in luv with my IP. Last week I made pork & sauerkraut. Turned out awesome. Fork kicks, I tried some chicken legs. Let's them NR for 10 min and they fell apart. I'll do some more experimenting, try a QR, just to see the difference. Keep'em coming!
Jaxx, after browning the roast, I just dumped the can over the meat. Greater an apple and put that on top. I will try to see if I can find the recipe and send it to ya via IG.

going to use Beef Gravy, and see how it goes.. May have to add a little Chicken Broth will see how it goes, but like the mushrooms and union cooking side of it. never cooked Cube steak before.
Using 3 Tbs. of flour and 3 Tbs. of Kentucky Colonel works really good. I like pepper so I use half the amount of pepper and no salt. The KY Colonel is seasoned so you don’t need to add salt and pepper. If you like pepper add a little but if you add the salt it’s too salty. Kentucky Kernel. I spelled it wrong.
If it's really terribly stained, Bar Keeper's Friend, Comet, something like that or just baking soda and a bit of dish soap. If it's just a hard water film type thing, I just squeeze some cheap bottled lemon juice on the bottom, swish it around and rinse. Shiny and new!
Hi, can you maybe help me to know what I did wrong. I love country style steak. I made it before I found this recipe but it was very similar. I had one pound of cubed steak that I covered in flour and browned in the instant pot then sautéed onions. I added one can of beef broth which was 2 cups. However, I got the burn message and when I opened it up the liquid was almost completely gone and the bottom was burned and stuck to the pot. I had it on seal when I closed the pot. I don't think it actually cooked after reaching pressure but for maybe 10 minutes. Any thoughts on what I did wrong?
Two cups should have definitely been enough. If, when you opened it, the liquid was almost completely gone, I'm guessing there was not a proper seal and the liquid evaporated while cooking. Not sure if you have an Instant Pot or another brand, but I find, especially with my Instant Pots, I have to stand near the pot until it actually comes to pressure. Otherwise, it seems like it's at pressure, it's "cooking", but it's not actually at pressure and steam is slowly releasing from my valve. I have to push down on the lid. (I know they say not to do that, but with my Instant Pots, that's what's up). I have never got the burn notice on this recipe, but that's my best guess.
I've never had a problem with a burn notice on this. Make sure you get the bits up off the bottom and there's 2 1/4 cups of broth, so that more than enough to make it through the cook - at least for me. Did you get a burn notice?
I just quick release it because it's done and tender. You could just let the pressure come down naturally if you want to, it won't hurt anything. I'm usually not that patient though.😜
I think I used too much flour....it never got pressure cooking cause it says "burn" but I checked the meat and it looks completely cooked and tender as hell. And gravy galore. So ...the bottom isn't exactly what to wanted to see but all in all, I think it might be okay.
Glad to hear it worked out in the end Scott! Did you use more flour than the recipe called for and/or did you stir it about or just press it down after you sprinkled it on? I have found with other dishes, if there is too much flour and you stir it about too much, it will sink and stick to the bottom.
@@JaxxDrinkwater just used too much flour when I was getting it ready to pressure cook. Lol. I poured it in after the beef stock/steak and stirred it up to dissolve the floor like you did on the video, heavy emphasis on the poured part. Should have sprinkled more like you did. Luckily, with the frying and then the gradual build of pressure mixed with the heat to eventual "fail" (food burn), it still technically "cooked". My wife had to work late, so I put it on "Keep Warm" on Low, so it built low pressure still and continued to cook, just at a slower pace. I started at 5pm and she got in at 7:30. The meat had a very slight shade of pink, and I mean barely pink, so it was ready to eat and turned out awesome. I'm going to retry again eventually and back off on the floor portion. Thanks for the tips on the video, opened my eyes even more IP recipes!
Hey there Rob - not too sure why. There could be a couple of reason. There might be too many bits and bobs stuck to the bottom of the pot. If there are any, you run the chance of a burn notice. I've had comments about people feeling they didn't think the recipe had enough flour, so they added more. If that happens, too much can sink to the bottom and cause a burn notice. After you do put the flour on, just kind of press it down, don't stir it about too much. You could have had an improper seating of the silicone ring, which burned some moisture out. Or your pot could just run hot. All that being said, I have never had this burn or stick and most people don't. However, there is about 5% of people that comment on this recipe say it happens every. single. time. they make this. I don't have a real explanation for it, except check the possible reasons above.
I thought everyone knew the hokey pokey! You know the man who invented it died recently. They had a big problem getting his body into his coffin. They put his left foot in, he popped his left foot out, they put his left in..........
Jaxx Drinkwater I agree. Never been a fungus lover, but always wanted to try Morells. Not dissing you. Just MHO thanks 🙏🏻 😊 for the response. I appreciate the recipe, and will try with my own twist. Perhaps some kinds of peppers 🌶 with those onions 🧅 instead of shrooms! 👍🏻😁
We’ve tried this recipe twice, it burns every time. We’ve done it exactly the same way as you, step by step. We can not figure out what we’re doing wrong. Please no rude comments. We’re asking for help because we’re confused
The only thing I can imagine here is that the bottom of the pot may have some brown bits still stuck on. I find it's a pot thing. I have one Instant Pot that I can leave stuff on the bottom (by accident) and still not burn. I have another one that even the teeny tiniest particle on the bottom is gonna burn. I quit using that pot for anything like this. I mostly use it for beans and soups, or something that is a dump and go that doesn't require browning. I realize this is not that helpful, as if it's just a sensitive machine/pot you can't really do anything about it but remove the contents, wash it fully and return the contents. Not fun. You can try browning the meat in a large skillet and the put it in the pot and cook as normal to see if that helps.
Yummilicious! If you haven't tried it yet, what are you waiting for? Just made this tonight, it was fork tender. This is my new go to recipe for cube steak! Thanks Jaxx

Mine sticks everytime.Why?
LOL!!!!!
Mushrooms... GAG.... Better Than Bouillon... And you TOTALLY redeemed yourself!!!
Mushrooms are totally optional for those of us mushroom lovers - and this is so good Marc, you gotta try this!
Thanks for watching!
@@imaramblins No worries, mushrooms...just one of those things. Some people love them and some people *GAG* lol
I would love some morells myself.
Jaxx Drinkwater amen 🙏🏻 brother. At least we agree on better than bouillon. Been my go to for quite some time! An awesome 😎 product!
@@JaxxDrinkwater thank you
