Please just review Revenge of the Cybermen it's the only way
I’ve been to the filming locations for the masque of mandragora. A lovely little village in Wales called port merion. I think the prisoner was also filmed there too
Same!
Also went there, wasn't a big fan but it was cool to see the locations.
Great video man. I love seeing people interact with their younger selves and it was cool that you took this opportunity to reflect on yourself and your channel. I'm really glad you won't be leaving UA-cam anytime soon as you're one of the best WhoTubers out there! I look forward to seeing your future content :)
DoctorBlue I second this
I third this. Mr TARDIS is one of the only places I go these days to look for opinions on Doctor Who.
I remember watching you as a young teenager, so I'm so relieved you're sticking around!
My brain is boggled at how you did that
Ooh a Hot Fuzz refrence
Thanks for sharing WebCon, tomorrows gonna be really fun!
Great unboxing dude! Oh and I spy a Hot Fuzz reference somewhere around 17:45 :D
Only a Doctor Who UA-camr would make a Blu Ray review series like...well this. And I wouldn't have it any other way
Not gonna lie, those cat feet initially freaked me out, I thought it was part of the skit or something XD
3:35 Best part of the video
Secondary control room is the official name. The room is nice but I hate that console. With the McGann console? Yeh, looks awesome!
I've only purchased the Season 10 Blu-ray, but yes it does still have the sleeve.
0/10 not enough love for Revenge of the Cybermen
DanTheMan 2150AD you have no planet, no influence, nothing
B H you’re just a pathetic bunch of tin soldiers skulking about the galaxy in an ancient spaceship.
I Might Be The Only Person Who Enjoys Revenge of the Cybermen
Talons is worth a watch if only for the introduction of Henry Gordon Jago and Professor George Litefoot: Investigators of Infernal Incidents!
Edit : Matthew Sweet was also a guest writer for their series at Big Finish and the 6th Doctor crossover audio "Voyage to the New World". He's incredibly knowledgeable about the victorian era.
Great video!
MrTardis: “hey do u guys throw these sleeves away?”
Me an American: 😐 uhhhh technically no
Yes we don’t get those fancy covers. We are lucky to get a slipcover. Ours don’t even say the season! They say “Tom Baker season 3” it really kinda sucks.
I love the hand of fare and the deathly asainton and the masker of mandra and the robbets of death the face of evil and the talons of
wingchiana are really good
My season 14 still hasn't been sent yet, probably due to corona complications
What is the software for ripping the Bluray. I use dvdshrink for DVDs but have less experience with Bluray.
I very nearly missed this boxset, but luckily a guy on Facebook had a spare copy, which was slightly damaged, and he sold it to me for £40.
Coming through the post very soon!
I never get rid of the sleeves, as if they don't have them, they will always be incomplete (I have the Series Two steelbook without the sleeve, and it winds me up).
Also discarding the sleeve devalues it.
I use MakeMKV for all my disc ripping. Then straight onto my plex server. Its so much more convenient than having to put a disc into a player when i want to watch a movie/tv show
anyone have any idea what the next one is and when we can expect it?
I do keep the cardboard sleeve, just so I know what the special features are, so I don't have to look through the booklet everytime.
I would really love to see you review Talons, mainly due to how you approach topics like racism and others in your Series 11 and 12 reviews. The 70s did have a lot of television shows were they thought at the time it was fine for an actor to be yellow or blackfaced. A lot of comedy in the 70s did this, even if the comedy was left-wing (The Goodies for example has a lot of blackface and racially questionable things. Still love the Goodies though)
That whole conversation was brilliant!
The Talons of Weng Chiang thang was a character born of the ‘yellow peril’ that goes back to world wide tensions between various countries that eventually rose up in the Second World War, but the Fu Manchu character survived longer purely as a ‘good villain’ thanks to a string of highly successful movies during the 60s where he was played by Christopher Lee, which in turn largely inspired Talons.
As the story was set in the late 1800s it’s not surprising other characters have racist attitudes and words to say but the most surprising part of it all appearing on Who, I think, is that none of it was countered by the Doctor at all, which in retrospect does seem really odd.
Btw the Goodies doing blackface as a satire, same as Little Britain did as late as the 2000s, was because depicting white people getting racially oppressed purely because they have their skin painted dark shows just how stupid racism based purely on colour of skin really is.
But blackface being seen as racism regardless of any context or intent, even if it’s satire or a joke about racism, has only strongly developed in the last 10-15 years or so, as has ‘yellow face’ and hatred of similar acting parts, previously the ability to play different races, genders and nationalities than you are was seen as being part of a skilled actor’s job, and still is in theatre, so it’s a very recent change in attitude to TV and Movie acting that shouldn’t really be applied to judging history further back than about the 2000s, before then, in varying degrees and contexts, it was acceptable, and if done well, even admired.
I can’t wait to get mine in August!! Region one we always have to wait.
I love Leela!! Top 5 companion of all time on my list!
Same. I love the packaging of the UK range (I imported S26 because it’s my favorite season and I just couldn’t wait), but I like that I can put some off some of the purchases until a price drop occurs in the US. Still waiting on Trial of a Time Lord.
Eldrad MUST live.
The entire reason the beard went was for this video wasn’t it? 😄
A year and a half of planning finally paid off ;)
You're say Mandragora wrong
I had never watched the serial until after recording so I'm aware of that :P
I'm jealous us Americans just get standard blu-ray cases with no bonuses in the box
I Hope You start a Review on Classic Who Series where You Review Every Story With The Collection Releases and Hopeful Do the Ines that Came out Before Season 14
this looks really cool, but i think I would prefer it if he was in his regular costume
I remember really enjoying that format of reviews at the time, but it definitely hasn't aged well, even ignoring the shady shit Channel Awesome was doing behind the scenes. While there are good points and good gags in your older videos, I definitely enjoy your current videos more. The analyses are clearer, the mood generally more positive, and there's less calling out of the creators except in cases of them actually pushing harmful messages.
It's honestly big of you to come forward and apologize for your behavior when you were younger. Sadly, it seems like few people these days have the maturity to own up to their mistakes.
While the videos have got more scholarly and professional, I feel Trilbee was more entertaining in the past. That's just personal taste though, I like sarcastic/deadpan OTT humour. Trilbee uses the old clip of wanting to introduce Moffatt's face to a brick wall. Nowadays I expect that would generate a lot of conflict online - inciting violence, being hateful etc. But it was just words. Did I genuinely believe back then that he'd commit said violence against Moffatt if he'd actually met him? No, not a chance. It was just something funny he said to emphasise his point, and if anyone actually believed Trilbee would've done that, that'd be their issues, not his. And no, it didn't incite me to want to inflict violence against creators either. I saw it simply as entertainment, which is what I generally watch UA-cam for. My thinking is that he shouldn't have to apologise for that. Though I appreciate that he obviously wanted to in this instance, so fair enough. I just think some people take what they hear way too literally now. You can be blunt, even rude about someone, it doesn't mean you're going to go out and smash their face in, or that you're asking anyone else to. We're all adults, we can see context so should be able to tell that in most cases words are just words. Occasionally not, but I don't think anyone could mistake Trilbee for a radgie, even in his Alexei Sayle days :D
He shaved finally!
REVENGE OF THE CYBERMEN REVIEW
Was it painful to shave the beard?, I love these unboxing
It was actually pretty hassle-free and painless!
@@MrTARDIS But do you miss it?
Only got one of the blu ray sets, but I keep the slipcase, and would if I decided to get more.
👍👍❤❤
Hey.
Will you watch in order?? Or jump right to Talons? Since you have never seen it.
It’s a great one!!
Holy shit baby face Trilbie!
I just keep them but I don't have them on
Hi mr Tardis WOW!😍 nice collection i 💘 dr Who but do prefer the Classic i really enjoy your content keep going🌈🐯
I just commented four times for the algorithm
Tha cardboard sleeve on these things annoy me so much. I keep them becouse I like the info but I just wish it was printed on rather than having a stupid piece of card over it
