I'm still sad that we were never told why Azure was hiding out on Earth, disguised as a human. Nor the purpose of the beacon she destroyed. Why was Swarm imprisoned and she was set free? Did she double-cross her brother? Barter her way out of imprisonment with Division? So many unanswered questions.
So much wanted explained. The final epsiode just dropped the ball constantly.
It was explained. Azure was on Earth because her identity had been erased (Fugitive warned her that this was one of the punishments if they continued doing what they were in Once, Upon Time. The other punishment was Imprisonment for the entire Existence of the Universe which was how Swarm was punished) The Beacon was an early warning system by The Division to alert that Swarm had escaped his imprisonment (For what reason, she has it. God knows, that part, I can't explain)
You were supposed to infer it. It was left a mystery to stay a mystery.
@@obiwankenobi687 I assume that was a warning that swarm had escaped, that scene happened after that. That's what I inferred after a rewatch.
they did explain why she was in earth... it was just a background detail you had to put together yourself... the fugitive doctor tells them when she's confronting them that their punishment will be incarceration and personality wipe (or something among those lines)
Flux trailers are something else, these look so good.

Overall, Series 13/Flux is a pretty ambitious series that has lots of unique concepts, but it bites off more than it can chew which resulted in a rushed ending.
I personally consider this to be a step up from Series 11 and 12 and major credit should be given to the crew that managed to put everything together in the midst of a global pandemic.
I hadn't watched this series yet but it looks like Chibnall tried to pull off what Star Trek: Discovery ALSO did not pull off in their third season...

The DVD trailers are always so much better than the TV trailers! I loved Flux, I was really impressed that they managed to make such an epic piece of TV during lockdown.

So sad that this is Jodie´s last season bc she is one of my favs💙 but! What a season, it was quite exciting and interesting😊 I just hope that some of the question they leave at the end of the season finds their answers in the next.

You see now that is a trailer, if the BBC had played that for 3 weeks everyday until the Flux launch the Dr Who ratings would be a lot lot better, superb editing. Cool imagery, humour and a hook to pull you in. Great Job.
Oh it spoils, but only I think as you know what happens, but the current culture of trailers to show you lots but out of synch, hooks and intrigue. RTD & Moffat trailers often gave away returning baddies & such but that for me made me want to tune in. The recent Spiderman trailer showed all the surprises (bar a few) and it was huge!
@@ScareMeSexy71 It is rather spoilery though - the reveal of Techteun (albeit not in name), Fugitive Doctor etc. Though I get where you're coming from, more the styling than the content maybe? Perhaps a compromise trailer where it still has the same feel but remove parts that give away major plot?
I think the reveal of The Fugitive doctor in a trailer wouldn't have much of a difference to non-fans, but like the RTD season 2 trailer it would have made proper whovians like myself jump with glee!
@@ScareMeSexy71 Well quite, would have made no difference to casual audiences but depends on your view, I prefer the surprise of not knowing Fugitive is in it until it happens.
Just look at the reaction to Kate Stewart in the next time trailer, some were jumping for joy while others were irritated that the surprise was ruined, they just wanted her to turn up, during the next episode, tada!
Each to their own though I guess.
Like I said, a bit of tweaking could potentially remove those elements from a trailer while still promoting the excitement factor.

This honestly should've been the trailer we should've seen before flux actually aired. It tells so much more and actually gets us ready for the series. Too bad we instead got a 30-second "trailer" of the same words repeated over and over again...

I loved Doctor Who Flux and I can’t wait to own it on DVD 📀! However I got a question for Doctor Who Channel, why don’t we get steelbooks in Canada or the US? I love the cover of those boxes and I always thought it was a shame that we can’t get them 😞. So if someone could let me know that you be great thank you 💙💙
I think it all goes back to the fact that Doctor Who is still considered a BBC show with a primary core audience in the UK, so the marketing focus is there. Here in the US and Canada, we're still viewed as a secondary market for the product.
I remember when Tennant and Smith exploded, even with Who being arguably more popular than it had ever been before, finding merchandise here in the states was crazy difficult. I was paying markup prices of sometimes 100%!

@@lesigh1749 Chibnall’s era may have been tragic, but Flux was at least a redeemer for most of the equalities his previous two series lacked. It still didn’t feel good enough, but it was a step in the right direction, as was Eve. But that’s just my opinion of course. As such, you’re entitled to be a walrus and shit on every minute of Flux (whole lathering yourself in your own bodily fluids, as I’m sure walruses do).
@@whocatalogue i watched Flux and i would say that at least four of the episodes were near incoherent random scenes jump cut together. The only episode that shone out and felt like it was Doctor Who was the one with the Angels, and even that just ran out of road and ended without resolving its story, because the godawful "division" plot popped in at the end again. That plot has utterly revoked the entire canon history of the show since Hartnell's first episode, and is a large part of the reason for the plummeting audience numbers.
The visuals looked pretty, and that's about all I can say was good about the series. The story was a jumbled mess that set up the universe having already been almost totally destroyed, and ended without doing anything to fix that, but then failed to enforce the consequence of that. It all just got forgotten about.

I feel it would have been better to wait until Jodie's final episode had aired before releasing this as at least then it would feel like a proper collection.

Also it's not the first doctor who season I've gotten straight from the UK lol my series 12 box set is also from the UK cause I couldn't find the Blu ray set in the states

Going from best to worst:
1. The Timeless Children, ranking 3/10
2. Battle of Ranskor Av Kolos, ranking 1/10
3. The Vanquishers, ranking 0/10 as it was just a mess.
Flux series has a really strong late 1990s American TV scifi syndicated programming feel. Especially Earth: Final Conflict for some reason. Entertaining nonsense.

Here is a small tid bit to show I really know it.
The girl with the many names is the key.
ROse MArioN (A) Badwolf girl Romanalunda.....(new; read current;) White Guardian over time, Santa Tyler.
Had a kid with the incarnation from inbetween the 12th and final regen.
(Key here is Donna Noble getting trapped in the TARDIS (Journeys End) and hearing a heart beat with a rythm of 2)
Just as Rose child that as it have 2 hearts keep hear a rythm of 4.
=Our Doctor grew up alongside the Master as the Master is 50% our Doctors kid & this is the most crucial.
Rose is the sister to our Doctor.
= Romana = The Doctors sister
= and get this....Waaaaaay back in 1973 in "The three Doctors" there was a Doctor Tyler (the 0th riginal form of our Doctor)
Because all Timelords came from Mondas.
The Earth that was taken out from its whoniverse and taken over into our (classic Whoniverse) and placed in our solar system.
And as the Cybermen took over that Earth the newly built TARDIS saved everyones "souls" as they died.
And as the Cybermen took over the TARDIS then saved everyone in histroy from that Earth 100.000BCE-100.000AD in a second save.
The first save was then used as basestations (The so called Timelords,; those with Rassilons DNA in them; rest cant hold....)
And the Second save was used as a source for all the regenerations.
= series 1 and 2 was made as both an end and a beginning to classic Who.
(Series 2 ends with the Doomsday of the classic Whoniverse) (its hidden but the 10th tells us what really happend)
"There is one last crack in the WHoniverse that is about to close"
= The Doomsday/Big Bang (in end of series 5) was about to happen from the 10ths perspective.
(as it can be hard to get this crucial bit; ill over explain it.)
In normal time the expanding/replacing of the classic WHoniverse is seen in reverse as it spreads out from a point in the future (at that time).
The TARDIS protects the Doctor and the new WHoniverse takes the classic WHoniverse place....= series 3 -4 takes place within the new WHoniverse
until Donna once again is seen as a bride.....
Yes between those two weddingdresses we where in the new WHoniverse...
But it doesnt stop there.....
There is more wedding dresses and wedding related stuff that tells us the TARDIS jumps between the two different whoniversis (classic -new and vice versa)
10th have to see his sister/Rose/Romana one last time but she was never in the new WHoniverse (as far he knew)
So he takes the TARDIS back into the classic Whoniverse...
In Eleventh hour the TARDIS jumps TWICE between the two whoniversis...
That is why the TARDIS is late... (time runs differently in the two whoniversis)
And this is where the Doctor gets what is going on.
When is a duck pond with no ducks called a duck pond?
(When one remember the ducks from a different whoniverse)

Both rememberd (due to exposure to the timevortex/timewindow behind the crack) each others lives in the other whoniverse alongside thier own lives. (Just as Clara in Name of the Doctor; Madame Pompadore in Girl in the fireplace; Lady Penforte in Silver nemesis; The mother in the Wardrobe sode etc etc...)
Then for the rest of the series each time the engagement ring is brought up memeories from both lives as jumped between....(later in series 6 out right told in minisode "Goodnight" by Amy mentioning her 2 lives with one not having a period and one life having a period)
= there are more then 8 times where Wedding related stuff as signaling the TARDIS swithing Whoniverse....

As our Doctor is from a save (think like the Raven ("Killed" Clara) but it didnt; it saved her to a hard drive. (the harddrive for the replacement timemachine for the ascended TARDIS)
However there is an additional save made after RIVERS (the replacement timemachine is built(As our mankind fall; and the Daleks conqour the Earth and turn it into new Skaro) that saves everyone from 100.000BCE to 100.000AD. Seen twice (once in Twice upon a time and in the punkabsode)
= The Chrurch of the papal mainframe = "Heaven" aka RIVERS = Tasha Lem had a tiny dustparticle in her; Like the girl in Bells of St John and the boy in Snowmen AND!!! Omega! and the Great Intelligens in both the classic and new WHoniverse:
Omega was only ever a tiny sliver from the former OMEGA (that was the source for the OMEGA arsenal) (The female Rassilons timemachine while being the Doctor in the "lost"/Previous/Alternate/Parallell Whoniverse) that the TARDIS replace when it ascended.
Fun fact:
The TARDIS ascended just after throwing out JW (that did that to save her from ascending) (As the Master activated Rassilons nightmare child plan to spite Missy so she wouldnt ever exist....And thus making her exist AS Missy have been an ascended being, protecting her ascention this whole time (thats why she made sure Clara meet the Doctor).
Cause you see Rassilons nightmare plan involed a final last part from the OMEGA arsenal.
A new key to time (for the new WHoniverse) that ascended everyone present at the Gallifreyan high counsil (The new Guardians over time)

Missy is the new Black guardian over time.

= the former Doctor gave the ascended Master all the secrets that must never be told.....
= INCLUDING the secret about whom the Master is a 50% child 2.
= The Master was ever only bad because of his ever abscent mother & father = the knowledge that his father had been with him all the way thru his life.....Made Missy "soft" as soft the former Master could be atleast....
And there is more much more....
Like how the Weeping Angels are the former Timelords just as the Ragnarrokians was Rassilons original ppl and former rulers over time (that did everything to stop the new rulers over time from ruling over time)...= The Daleks was NEVER the true enemy in the timewar; the Ragnarookians pulled thier strings the whole time (as well as all other enemies to the Timelords)....
The Weeping angels are doing everything they can to stop us from becoming and being the rulers over time..
Because Gallifrey was frozen in the same moment it was burnt so everyone outside the Gallifreyan high counsil became trapped in an Schrödinger cat like state of both being alive and ascended.....(that can only move around when not being observed)
=The weeping angels of old are the Ragnarookians, )inside the classic Whoniverse) and the new ones are the former Timelords (inside the New Whoniverse)....

While watching her lifeless performances, one had to tell oneself that it was convincing, yes knowing inside that it lacked power and authority that only a man can give to the role!
