Hey Josh, have you ever thought about getting a PPL..? Most of the Av-Geeks I speak to are either private pilots or Av-Techs, but you're a passenger who loves planes. I wonder if you could review your mate, Noel Phillips with his PPL flying..? Sadly, you would have to review him flying in Canada. How good would that be, flying over the Praries & Rockies or the mountains & rivers of Quebec in Noel's little prop-plane. Growing-up in Sydney, many mates from HighSchool got their PPL training at Bankstown or Camden airports. The Newcastle/Hunter region has had PPL licences grow due to Matt Hall with his Red Bull racing. Lots of PPLs out of Cessnock Airport. I'd love to visit Cuba, as I'm a PETROL HEAD & love cars, especially all the classic cars still powering along in Cuba, but having relatives in the USA, wondering how that would hold me up at the US Border. Nice vid Josh... Love from Australia.

That engine sound at takeoff was AMAZING. thanks tor including it Josh. It's funny how all the Russian planes I've seen on various channels are always absolutely spotless. I hope you manage to get on a IL-96 at some stage. It think the TU204 is a handsome machine. And I must say the flight crew seemed so much nicer and professional than a lot of other airlines you have flown with. And the landing in the cockpit was just the icing on the cake. Wow - amazing video Joshl
Never been flying with TU-134? The Solovyev made quite a noise. Those planes were banned from most airports in the early 2000's because of their too high noise level. Everyone old enough from the ex-Eastern bloc remembers the whistle of those engines.
Thank you for showing my home country. I have watched quite a few of your vids, but have never seen you so excited before. I usually avoid Cubana due to their safety record, but used to fly with them when I lived on the island. Flying those AN-24 and their now retired YAK-42 was quite an experience. Safe travels Josh.
About 14 years ago, I arrived at London Stansted on an easyJet flight from Amsterdam. As we pulled up to the gate, I was shocked to see a Cubana IL-96 parked at the next gate!! I have no idea what it was doing there, whether it was a regular scheduled service, a charter flight, or a diversion (I live on the wrong side of London to know much about what goes on at Stansted!), but seeing it there made my day. 😊
Stansted gets some interesting traffic! Or at least, it used to. A lot of interesting stuff there, the An-124 used to fly in, a friend of mine working there saw a Mi-24! Also a lot of politicians fly in to Stansted too for stuff.
Ex-cabin crew here and one of the most amazing experiences was being able to sit in the flight deck for take off and landing, (with permission and providing all doors were covered 😅) For many years now, passenger flight deck visits were taken away and it’s so cool you got to experience that! Love it ❤ Cuba is awesome. Hope you enjoy and looking forward to the next video!

I went to Cuba back in 2016. It is a very interesting experience. I flew a domestic route. I dondt remember what kind of plane it was. But it was an old Russian transport aircraft. They had basically just installed seats in the cargo compartment 😂 No comfort at all. The plane had technical issues. So we had to wait for a technician. Many Cubans have never flown Cubana. I wanted when I was a kid, but not anymore. I'm glad that everything went better than even yourself expected. Your attitude is amazing. You were patient and positive and I think that may have opened some doors for you.
What a great vlog once again Josh, I loved watching the beauty that is the Tupolev 204 Cubana, and even better that you were allowed in to the cockpit, absolutely amazing 👍😊
When I was young, I used to go to the cockpit frequently (DC-9s, 727s). The last time was in 2004. I recognized a pilot from a DVD I had, spoke with him, and he let me into the cockpit. When the lady asking for the boarding pass asked who I was, she said, "He's my nephew." During the flight, I didn't go to the cockpit, but they put the conversations with ATC over the speakers. The landing was so smooth that I didn't notice. I only realized we had touched down when I heard the reversers.

Great video. Your drive through Havana, pulled on my heart strings - I was born in Havana. Ended up showing your video to my Mom, she was taken aback at how the city looked, but life is about change. One of my Moms best friends was a stewardess with the airline, met her husband ( an American) married and moved to the states. We left Havana in 1959, I was two. Thanks for sharing the video. Cheers.
I went to Cuba and Havanna in 1990. I must say that they are a really nice and friendly people and have a respect that I never seen anywhere else. Took a trip from Cancun to Havanna with Cubana with an old soviet turboprop back then and stayed in Havanna for two nights.

Congrats Josh, excellent job and you hit the right note! I would definitely fly on the Tupolev 204 and, by the way, I remember being allowed into the cockpit for a few minutes as a teenager.
As a child, my family used to fly Cubana from NYC, and Havana to Santiago and back. The pilots would let me sit in cockpit. The airports in Caracas and Havana brought many memories back.
I visited St Petersburg (Russia) some 20 years ago. When I was returning home to Sweden, the taxi driver who took me to the airport told me that he was a former commercial pilot. He had been fired along with lots of other pilots, because the Russian airplanes were no longer allowed in Western Europe -- they were too loud. So he became a taxi driver.
Omg! I was giggling with joy watching the plane land. You are so very lucky! Thank you so much for letting me live vicariously through your experiences!❤🎉❤🎉
Charging you for a visa on landing despite already having an e-visa is just a basic money grab. They know tourists will pay it. Someone is keeping that money (not the country)
What a cool trip and what an airplane - I'm definitely jealous. But the best part is how excited you are, it really comes across and it put a smile on my face too just watching what fun you're having.
It was sitting in Russia for SEVEN YEARS due to maintenance issues?!🚩 Wow, I appreciate your passion for living life on the edge for us aviation enthusiasts!
Please be careful in Cuba. You can barely contain your excitement. I love it. After the strong coffee, you can fly yourself to Cuba. The landing was cool. Cuba is known for its classic cars. You will see Cuba at its best and worst. Be safe and stay aware.
OMG what a great experience! Were you not afraid that something could go wrong mid-flight?? Love your channel and videos, you're so nice and always smiling ❤
Thank you for the unedited take off. I’m afraid of flying, but I do it. It’s the take offs that scare me, but watching yours helps to ease my anxiety. Thank you Josh.
Josh, 1 Tu-204 and 1 Tu-214 still fly in Russia from Moscow every day to Tel Aviv and Batumi. Red Wings company. You forgot about it :) I flew in the far east of Russia on a rare Tu 204-300 model from Vladivostok to Moscow with Vladivostok Avia, but that was a long time ago, about 12 years ago, This particular model of Tu 204-300 can fly so far without landing (8 hours)
As a Canadian, we travel to Cuba a lot. We love the Cuban people, the island has beautiful beaches and resorts. We are very saddened by the embargo that has kept average Cubans pinned down, very sad. The US needs to stop this it's been going on way to long.
The embargo doesn’t seem to affect the ruling class. Fidel Castro family has mansions in Turkey and their kids attend private schools in Europe. I wonder why that is? Stop being naive.
Under the embargo, Cuba can buy anything they want from the USA if they pay cash; do you know that all the chicken eaten in Cuba come from the USA? And Cuba has 200 countries in the world to make business with. For example, in many South American countries like Brazil, Peru, Argentina, our main and largest commercial partner is Communist China. We do not have embargo with the USA and from our decision we do a lot of business with China instead of the USA. Why Cubans do not do the same and stop crying about not doing bussiness with the USA?
Hey Josh another amazing video ! Fun story growing up in Montreal, Canada we had Cubana flights to Havana so one year during winter we took a vacation to Havana and I ended up on the same plane ! Hope you enjoyed it !
You flew real with dinosaur but it must been great experience 🦕✈️ 😂 but connection classic aviation review + adventure in country is great 😊 please Josh more this content🙏
This was such a cool experience to have and watching it was incredible! The plane looked decently maintained, too! I flew on Qeshm Air’s Tupolev TU-154M in Iran, a ~2 hour flight, and it was one of the most terrifying experiences of my life feeling like the plane was going to crash any minute lol. The AC was also broken, so there was no overhead AC. My father’s seat was broken and the backrest was falling off, so that was great. And these reclining seats that go far back made a very uncomfortable experience. The funniest part was when we arrived to our destination and the cargo compartment’s door wasn’t opening, so we had a 2 hour delay in getting our luggages. Those things were flying death traps and I’m glad Iran finally retired them. But seeing how the one you flew on was well-maintained was very good to see because these planes are not safe. Thanks for the video! Love your channel and journalism!!
It's the Tu214 that is being modernised and is making a comeback. The Tu214 is the upgraded variant of the Tu204. Red Wings currently use one Tu214 and one Tu204. Great video. I love soviet era planes.
I doubt very much. Cuba just doesn’t produce much to trade for anything! Think about it, Cigars and Sugar are about it. Remember, many countries would welcome selling things to Cuba and even buying things. I can find Cuban Rum in my local Liquor Store, but nothing else!
What do you think of Cubana and the Tupolev 204? Would you fly them too? Let me know in the comments! Thanks!
Looks interesting, would like to see for myself ngl
Probably a lot safer than Boeing.

As a child, my family used to fly Cubana from NYC, and Havana to Santiago and back. The pilots would let me sit in cockpit. The airports in Caracas and Havana brought many memories back.
I love what you do Josh 👏👏👏
I would be happy I I get a like from you
Great video Jost loved this one. Loved the sound of those engines
I'm a fan of older aircraft like the tupolev. It's cool that Cuba has this type of aircraft.
Whoa you were so lucky to be on a tupolev tu-204! i love your vids i always follow up on your latest videos!
Wow, coolest aviation video ever! Thank you so much for sharing!
like number 90 here! Excellent videos as always Mr. Josh Cahill!
That pretty much describes every Russian jet.
One of your best yet and that is a tough call as most are so good. Loved it.
20:29 Was not really expecting a packet of Parle G biscuit in a Cuban airline😂..for that matter, in any airlines!!
Parle G does taste incredibly similar to Lotus Biscoff.
Glad you made this point too, i was convinced there were more than three left in operations
Duch a cool flight! Been following for a long time, congrats on catching the beast!
It's not the embargo that's pitting people down. It's the unjust communist gang ruling over them.
What a embargo? Cuba con do deals freely with 178 countries in the world😂
@rrorrogod4494 Google it
I love this vídeo, THANKS!!! I’m a cuban aviation lover in Havana, also I’m work in Jose Marti Int. Airport!!! Thanks you for showing TU-204!!!
Great aviation adventure video 👍👍👍
Great video, Josh ! Last time I flew a Russian plane was in 1986, namely, a Tupolev 154. Quite an interesting and deafening experience.
ParleG that is one of the popular brand of biscuits of India.
Hey Josh another amazing video ! Fun story growing up in Montreal, Canada we had Cubana flights to Havana so one year during winter we took a vacation to Havana and I ended up on the same plane ! Hope you enjoyed it !
25:00 wow so cool what a special treat!!! 👍👍👍
Oh my the food service, ouch. You're a brave man Josh riding on that plane. How cool you got to ride in the cockpit, very neat, awesome crew
You flew real with dinosaur but it must been great experience 🦕✈️ 😂
but connection classic aviation review + adventure in country is great 😊 please Josh more this content🙏
A truly amazing experience! I'm not jealous about much in life but you've almost got me here!!
Great vid Josh! There is never a trip report as good as yours!
Best Josh Cahill video ever!!!!! That landing was epic! Glad you could experience it!
This was AMAZING!!!!! Loved it!
mightytravels AI fixes this. CUBANA's Rare Soviet TU-204.
It's the Tu214 that is being modernised and is making a comeback. The Tu214 is the upgraded variant of the Tu204. Red Wings currently use one Tu214 and one Tu204. Great video. I love soviet era planes.
4:09 sus baggages 💀
What
So amazing what you doing Josh
Enjoyed every second of it ❤
Be interesting how Cuba would change it when in brics
I doubt very much. Cuba just doesn’t produce much to trade for anything!
Think about it, Cigars and Sugar are about it. Remember, many countries would welcome selling things to Cuba and even buying things.
I can find Cuban Rum in my local Liquor Store, but nothing else!
No BRICS for Cuba. No advantages for Russia or China.
