@@rusty78609 No worries, Sir Rusty !! In our retirement years, "...Every day is a Holiday...Every meal is a Feast...Every [pension] check is a Treasure..." !!!
safe travels back to zozo. i know you are experienced towing with a motorhome still stuff happens. i was driving on the interstate last weekend and a class A lost its tow vehicle. thankfully it didnt hit any other cars. it did hit the rear end of the motorhome.
I know you did not understand the message I left yesterday on one of your videos. I was referring to something like this...I personally would not know how to set up a tow dolly much less attach a vehicle to it. You could for a FEE advice newbies how to do that and also what issues to look for when purchasing a new or used RV. Happy Trails Rusty!
I'm not Rusty, but.... here is no magical answer that is right for everyone. It's all about your own personal circumstances and needs, plus your life expectancy. The actuarial charts that SS uses make it come out to be equally good for you regardless of what age you take it at, ON AVERAGE for the usual range of life expectancies. If you think your health or life expectancy is below average, take it at 62. If you think you'll live longer than most people, wait until 70 if you can. If you're going to still be working and earning a bunch of money, then even if you take it at 62, they will reduce or eliminate how much SS you get paid. Don't worry about that, because when you turn FRA (full retirement age) they will recalculate a higher benefit for the rest of your life, as if you started taking it later. When will you put the money to best use? Breakeven is around age 79, so if you won't be needing money after that (maybe being in a nursing home and out of savings, or living with a relative and sitting on the couch,, having no use for much income) then take it early. If you'll be wanting to spend a lot when old, then maybe wait longer and work longer. Once you reach FRA, you can work all you want without it affecting your SS. Sounds good, but actually working before you reach FRA increases your benefits when you reach FRA, while working after that does not. One last factor to consider is whether the actuarial charts are still correct after the pandemic. It suddenly reduced everyone's life expectancy a bit, and they'll be struggling for years to find out by how much. But as a tiebreaker, until they get it right, it's probably better to take it sooner rather than later, to get it while you're still alive, if people aren't living as long as the old projections of life span. Likewise, if you think society will collapse or nukes will fly, get the money while it's still available and you're still alive.
Everyone's financial situation and family health is different. But generally, according to JP Morgan Advisors, claim it at age 62 if your'e not expected to live past 77. Otherwise, postpone until at least full retirement age of 65 - 67. If expected to live past 81, claim it at 70.
And we all broke out in a jolly chorus of ‘On the Road Again’ !!

Rusty.. What age do you recommend taking your social security?

as soon as you are eligible
Is that a special tow set up?
I sure hope it's front wheel drive, hate to hear about a cooked transmission on a brand new transit.
?
@rusty78609 the tow set up looks longer then Norma. I am looking for some type of tow set up for my pickup camper.
Enjoying our retirement!! We are the last generation in America that will say that!!
Are you crazy? Driving a motorhome, towing and then HOLDING YOUR CELL PHONE FILMING!!
Rusty is a skilled driver and was probably holding the phone with his feet. Or maybe steering with his feet.
