I can tell this would have easily been a 2hr video. He wanted to give all sorts of details about every single step. Lots of editing. But that's a great lil egg now. He did a great job.
I can't remember the last time I saw someone being interviewed wearing a button down shirt with a collar. That probably speaks volumes about his attention to detail. Haircut, no beard - hmmm. Just who the heck is this Thomas guy?!? Fantastic rebuild, an inspiration!
Wow! He did an amazing job with this build! The best part is that he never has to take it into the repair shop for warranty repairs since he built it himself, he can fix it fast and be back on his way camping again. Great video thank you!
This guy & his work was very interesting & informative to watch. So much going on still very well organized. The attention to detail is literally perfection
@ChristineSlay I'd venture to say an engineer with hands on experience - that architects tend to not have. Plus he did mention some carpentry experience in regards to home renovations
RV manufacturer take notes! THIS is how to create RV that folks will be waiting in line to purchase. Just like having a home builder sit with client showing options. Build to order, not speculation.
He did an outstanding job. Love that he shares both what works well, what doesn't, and what works okay. Lots of notes taking on this video! Thank you for sharing!
I've seen a number of Casitas and they are nothing like this rig. What a fantastic job Thomas did! I don't envy him having to rip everything out and start from scratch, but the results are nothing short of stunning. Great job & thanks for sharing Bob & Thomas!
As a retired carpenter I am impressed with his work. Everything is nice and clean work and very well thought out. Its the best Casita floor plan I've ever seen.
So true… just bought the Transit Connect.. brought it home and it had water inside puddles inside… removed the entire flooring and carpet.. always check ✅
I would totally buy a trailer from this man! He could have an amazing business restoring and improving older trailers…and new ones too! People would love to have him totally redo their trailers and RVs.
I've watched a lot of builds but this one surpasses them all. A great deal of thought and planning went into this re-build, and his patience and craftsmanship really turned this into a beautiful Casita that will last a life time.
Do you think this is worth 2000 hours of your time + cost of materials? And having a place to work on it? Makes me determined NOT to get a basket case.
Great job!!! Beautiful camper. So much thought went into your build. Although you had so many issues to address at first, you took advantage of the opportunity to really put your vision to work. Love it and safe travels!
This one is absolutely amazing; and definitely one of my favorites! Thomas is both intelligent and skilled; He has a brilliant build that will last for decades
I have no idea what all the technical aspects of the build are/were but truly appreciate the detail/professionalism of what he has done! It's a beautiful rig. Very clean/stream lined and efficient.
I love my 53 year old tiny fiberglass travel trailer. Mine has a popup roof section that is a real advantage in hot weather. I bought it in derelict condition and I knew I would have to totally gut it out, patch up holes in the shell, insulate, wire, custom layout and cabinets, even a new frame and axle. Fortunately other than welding the new frame (friends did that) I had all the professional level skills I needed for metal working, fiberglass repair, cabinet making, electrical and canvas work fabrication for the popup top.
A lot of unique features and a great design. He s very talented. And his work is of professional quality. Thanks for featuring his casita and his story❤
This is something like I need light enough to pull without a big truck and I am 62 and it's just me and I don't need anything more than for just me you did a fabulous job of redoing your camper 💜💐💜🙏😊👌
Rebuilding a classic travel trailer from the floor- frame-up must be arduous and long but when you know where every nut, bolt, and wire is, the peace of mind when travelling must be worth it. Nice job.
nice guy is Thomas, and he made a very comfortable and spacy home for himself. Looks really neat and light. Very nice! Wish you many wonderful experiences on the road. Thanks for sharing Thomas and Bob!
Meticulously precise attention to detail, outstanding craftsmanship and superb ergonomics throughout confirm this to be one very special build! Light, bright and airy, this is elegantly simple and simply elegant! Thank you for sharing your exquisite Casita.
This man is an expert in so many fields. Did a great job even if it took a long time. I'm sure he is going to enjoy it for years. Bob, do you know the width and length and height inside? And is it a twin bed? Thanks Bob for another very interesting interview and tour.
Thank you for sharing this very interesting creative build! The world is full of very different people, and I really appreciate those that can attend to tedious details... My favorite thing was the Bungies! What a clever thing to make them exactly the right size!!! I want to try this one for sure, I am already thinking of some around the house applications for those! As Always Bob, you are a rare human willing to share with all of us for the better good... Many Blessings and Best wishes!!
I have been and continue to execute the corn-struction of my little 5 X 10 with a similar ethos to Thomas. I can relate to the "Am I ever going to be finished?" along with the "learned to take my time and be patient" (to paraphrase Thomas) - mainly because as problems or difficulties in "how am I going to do this?" arise they require some degree of pondering to solve. Thanks for your efforts! both of you in bringing this nifty little rig to our attention. A lot of what has gone into this Casita has already gone into my CTC. Great minds think alike! Hee.
Someone like him needs to be designing RVs. Not those geeks who never went camping ….most Rv design is impractical and frustrating.
I can tell this would have easily been a 2hr video. He wanted to give all sorts of details about every single step.
Lots of editing. But that's a great lil egg now. He did a great job.
He enjoyed his build journey and wanted to share that with us!
I can't remember the last time I saw someone being interviewed wearing a button down shirt with a collar. That probably speaks volumes about his attention to detail. Haircut, no beard - hmmm. Just who the heck is this Thomas guy?!? Fantastic rebuild, an inspiration!
The rare times somebody with this lifestyle looking neat , clean , organised plus is well spoken & meticulous
Beard coming soon.
Probably an engineer
A proper gentleman
He's from New York ! Actually normal .
collar shirt & dungarees
Thomas, wow, just wow! When you said you were fixing up a camper, I had no idea you were actually creating a masterpiece. Enjoy your travels!
Wow! He did an amazing job with this build! The best part is that he never has to take it into the repair shop for warranty repairs since he built it himself, he can fix it fast and be back on his way camping again. Great video thank you!
Very nice set-up ❤
How about a Thomas Part 2? You had us all on the edge of our seats, I think.
Design, craftsmanship and ingenuity galore.
This guy & his work was very interesting & informative to watch. So much going on still very well organized. The attention to detail is literally perfection
I'm willing to bet this guy is an architect. He did an awesome job 👏 🙌
I was thinking engineer, but yeah, definitely a high-IQ math guy.
Yes! He is much handier than I am lol
I was thinking school teacher. He had extra free time in the summer.
@ChristineSlay I'd venture to say an engineer with hands on experience - that architects tend to not have. Plus he did mention some carpentry experience in regards to home renovations
Perhaps a teacher. He mentioned it took 4 summers.
He is a very clever man, it's gorgeous x
RV manufacturer take notes!
THIS is how to create RV that folks will be waiting in line to purchase. Just like having a home builder sit with client showing options.
Build to order, not speculation.
Amazing he could start a company. What he kept saying about air flow was spot on.
He did an outstanding job. Love that he shares both what works well, what doesn't, and what works okay. Lots of notes taking on this video! Thank you for sharing!
With our a doubt, one of the best builds I have watched of any van/trailer build. This was inspiring.
I've seen a number of Casitas and they are nothing like this rig. What a fantastic job Thomas did! I don't envy him having to rip everything out and start from scratch, but the results are nothing short of stunning. Great job & thanks for sharing Bob & Thomas!
No wonder why I couldn't keep my eyes from those knotty pine boards!!!!!! 100yrs old! 😮 gorgeous work brother.❤
This is the most thorough video I've seen here.
The best build.
As a retired carpenter I am impressed with his work. Everything is nice and clean work and very well thought out. Its the best Casita floor plan I've ever seen.
I remember you Thomas. Thanks for the in person/on the spot tour. It was generous of you. Great build!!!
I still have the cute doormat you gave me.
Absolutely beautiful. Thank you for taking the time to create these tours.
Thomas's camper is BANGIN'!
He's SUCH a smart man and built his camper VERY intelligently!
👏👏👏👍👍👍💓💞💖💕
What a work of art.
So true… just bought the Transit Connect.. brought it home and it had water inside puddles inside… removed the entire flooring and carpet.. always check ✅
This is a beautiful trailer and I love how Cody lives there now 🥰
I would totally buy a trailer from this man!
I could watch this guy all day long. And then again. Lots of great ideas!
Thomas is one bright man. He had su many brain storms about how to build in order to get what he wanted. I took lots of notes. Thanks
I’ve watched lots of these. This guy thought of everything. What a great build. You can tell he took his time with every part.
I have a love for good design and this guy has nailed it. so beautiful.
Wow. First time I've seen one of these.
Awesome build. Cool the guy did it over 4 summers. Love the custom bungees. Did not know about those. Thanks for filming and listening to the guy Bob.
This is a professional grade restoration! Beautiful & efficient! Thank you both!
Beautiful pine panels. Your egg is very thoughtfully crafted.
Impressive engineering and build. Great video!
Phenomenal!
I would be willing to watch the 2 hour version. Especially if he showed us the clam shell shower tent!
This guy is a GENIUS for sure!!!! I would love to have a Casita too!!!!
The design, aesthetics, and craftsmanship are outstanding!
This one is absolutely amazing; and definitely one of my favorites! Thomas is both intelligent and skilled; He has a brilliant build that will last for decades

I love that he built this out like a boat. Beautiful design and finish.

Wow, this gentleman must’ve been an engineer, very inventive.
A true castle on wheels . What a beautiful labour of love .
Great build Thomas. Methodical process. Nice R100RT. Thanks for the tour. Another good job Bob.

Rebuilding a classic travel trailer from the floor- frame-up must be arduous and long but when you know where every nut, bolt, and wire is, the peace of mind when travelling must be worth it. Nice job.
The bungee utilization is brilliant. Wonderful job.

Quite the engineer! Very thoughtfully designed.
One of the best rebuilds I've ever seen. Great job, dude. Thanx.
Unlike some, this man truly BUILT BACK BETTER!
This man is an expert in so many fields. Did a great job even if it took a long time. I'm sure he is going to enjoy it for years.

Took 4 summers to build, guess that's better than 5. Good for him to stick with it during the overwelming times. Looks Awesome!
Brilliant remodel! It's the ingenuity that impresses me... the little bits of trial that and error AND SO MUCH TIME that wins
"Kool" stuff. One really appreciates the truck for storage space in that setup.
This man made great use of space that he had!!!
Oh to have the talent to redo that camper. Awesome job!
I enjoyed learning new ideas for myself. E Z and really double triple duty and so smart.
What an amazing guy,I would have loved to hear him play his guitar
Great one Bob and Thomas. Nice build, lots of work but nice.
