Hi everyone! Hope you enjoy this episode! 🙂 Let us know in the comments if you like the car and whether you reckon it was a decent price - More videos on it coming soon! Oh and we haven't forgotten about the ZR-1 - There is stuff going on in the background with it which we reveal soon! Llew and Chris!
@Yggdrasill8 interesting! I though the convertible was unwieldly and generally not very agile feeling but this one feels a lot smaller and lighter than it actually is... What did you buy instead?
Mach 1 owner here, in UK manual which was my preference, fantastic car, puts a smile on my face, although i sorned it end of October, I'll bring it out again in April.
Nice! We'd love to try a Mach 1, I bet they are mega :) Don't you think they are an amazing platform and having the RHD is a real luxury (personally I prefer these to Camaros and Challengers etc anyway)
@Auto_Funk I bought it a couple of months ago, I had a Alpine A110 for 5 years, I just happened to be at a car dealer friend of mine, popped in for a coffee and a catch up, it came up on a dealer online auction, grey, manual, only 4k at fully loaded, with 2 Ford service's completed, and extended Ford warranty, so I got it at a decent price, and he sold my Alpine for me.
Nice! It sounds awesome... ! How does it compare to the A110? Interesting move going from that to a Mustang. We would LOVE an A110, in fact I (Llew) very nearly bought an A110 S at the start of the year when they were on 0% pcp deals... Still feel like I've missed out! Main things that put me off is lack of luggage space and lack of a manual option. I bet they are terrific fun though?
@Auto_Funk amazing fun, bought it with 2 k sold it at 63K no real issues apart from squeaks and rattles, but definitely missed a manual, different types of vehicles, early days yet, but I prefer the Mach 1
Oh good lord, you were not kidding when you said it was loud! Yikes, I bet the OG owners neighbours are thrilled thats gone. I now want to see every car review with someone getting into the boot to check the size, I did laugh at that! brilliant!.
Great purchase! Not sure why it's the cheapest, its had a colour change but that's not a bad thing as its been done properly. A stripe would look good too.
Llew negotiated hard on the price and managed to get a discount because of the undisclosed colour change and very noisy exhaust... Can't wait to get some stripes added!
Very fine purchase at a great price . I was passed by a fleet of 3 of these - probably an owners club meet . They certainly have a presence on the road .
Thanks Dave!! What we realy like about them is how they are sort of an underdog choice when most would go for something German :) Driving it feels like an event!
Ahhhh!! Where did you see it for sale? We bought it on eBay - You'll notice I did a bit of hard negotiating to get it for the purchase price (mainly because of the repaint which was undisclosed on the ad, and the loud exhaust). Highly recommend getting a Mustang if you haven't tried one, they are amazing!
@ it was on auto trader, I had my eyes on it for a while. Then I spoke to the chap on instagram haha. I knew about the respray & exhaust etc. I will keep an eye on your channel. If and when you come to sell it, I will want it hahahha
Aha! I didn't see it on Autotrader - It popped up on eBay at a good price and couldn't resist it! Keep in touch (drop me an email) and we will make sure we contact you when we come to sell it :)
Thanks Noel - We're quite a way off that number but we've definitely come a long way since 2023 (less than 1000 subscribers!)... Can't do it without you guys though and we love your support !
Cheers Ben! Not a bad smoker is it! Hope the GranTurismo is serving you well... If you ever want to do any filming with this one let me know (although I can see you've already done a Mustang previously)
Great find, guys. You can't go wrong with a Mustang. Over here in its motherland, it seems the first thing that's installed is an obnoxious exhaust! Also, I think said exhaust causes brain damage because of the way owners drive them! Don't even get me started on Challenger and Charger owners......😮
HA ! Comment about brain damage genuinely made me laugh!! It's true over here too, most people that drive massive engined cars with ridiculously loud exhausts aren't very well thought of over here either (Chris/Llew included probably!)
Looking forward to this as I have a 2019 Mustang(Bullitt) myself. Loads of parts and upgrades around for things so that should make things easier for you
@@Auto_Funk Quite jealous of the time you get in the Vettes. As for upgrades I think it's all a matter of taste they are pretty good stock, H or X pipe is a very common mod as is open air filter option but I see you have those. The Bullitt comes with a few upgrades and a little more power so all I've done is X pipe and lanoguard. Re your tail pipes I would of thought someone local on any of the uk Mustang groups would swap you a standard set for yours
Lanoguard isn't a bad shout, we might actually do that :) We've got some silencers already, we just need to get them fitted... Sure I can't interest you in the Cobra straight pipes?! Ha!
@@Auto_Funk Thanks for the offer but a little too loud for me. I have an X pipe and active exhaust which is perfect for me. The ability to adjust the volume is useful and I'm sure my neighbours appreciate it :-) I'm sure if you give lanoguard a shout you'll get a free kit for a video, although it's not that expensive tbh
Yep I bet they do - We might look at a valved exhaust because turning the noise on and off would be quite a cool thing to be able to do...! We will have to message Lanoguard and see if we can sweet talk them! :)
Cheers Troy - Glad you like our vids!! :) :) Definitely not a C5. I am missing Kev the burgundy C5 though, I need to get him out of storage and fix him up (he's halfway through a polybush kit install but I haven't had time to finish it :(
not a Stang fan boy, but they are a cool american muscle car.. great buy. wicked easy to modify as well. love a 840 Beemah btw. need a little vid on that too cheers
So amusing the door chime going off during exhaust demo is the same as my wife's C-max and the Transit vans at work. Bloodhell, my workshop compressor sounds better than the BMW. 😬
Ha ha! I bet the chime isn’t the only transit part in the Mustang :-) interior is a bit plasticky! To be fair to the BMW it does sound nicer in real life, comes across as quite rattly in the vid! Thanks for watching 🙂🙂
Nice!! Well done John! You know us, it's V8 or bust! No disrepect to the eco boost models but they don't make sense to me, a Mustang HAS to have a V8 right?
Owww the 840 looks awesome! The colour looks awesome on the Stang. Life needs more colours! How do you think the Eibach springs pair with the original dampers? I drove it and felt it was out of tune. So my mate bought some KW V3. Car changed for the better. A lot more predictable. Onward to the Boss/Funk stripes :)
My cousin bought a stang 5.0 v8 earlier this year. It was more economical than his last a car a 4.0 wrangler haha. The factory paint round the rear end isn't too great on them especially round the bootlid
Haha! I suppose the Wrangler is a brick and also quite heavy... ! You're right the factory paint isn't brilliant, Llew's convertible which only had around 5000 miles on it was already starting to corrode on the front wings, something to do with aluminium paint reaction I think
@Auto_Funk The wrangler is a brick haha. It seems to have enough torque to waft along but that's all it does. The stang new was under 40k which is alot of car for the price. It has a corse exhaust which sounds quiet at low revs/light throttle but is mentally loud when opened up. I bought a 67 plate bmw 435d to have economy and brisk-ish pace and that was 56k list price on the receipts!!! The 17 plate 5.0 mustang my cousin has is around £200 tax!!!
Definitely a lot of car for the price - I think the later ones for whatever reason are cheap on tax, this one is mega bucks!! :( 435d sounds like an awesome daily... !
That Coyote 5.0 engine is excellent. The transmission less so, but still a great car overall. It's easier to find a clean C5 in the US than a clean Mustang, though.
Do they take a bit of abuse from the owners then?? I guess a C5 is more of a “garage queen” type car generally! Do the gearboxes have any inherent problems? Ours feels really nice.
@@Auto_Funk Ford stopped using the T56 in 2011 or so, and went to Getrag's MT82. Some of the issues reported: MT82 transmission issues consist of high RPM lockout, slipping, jerking, premature wear, gear clashes, and failure. High RPM lockout is the biggest problem with this transmission.
Interesting ! I prefer the look of the Camaros but having this in RHD over in the UK is really nice... :) Who knows, maybe we will trade it for a Camaro next year!
@@Auto_Funk I never cared for the Gen5/6 Camaro looks or the way I sit in them but I love modifying LS motors. No doubt the Coyote makes some power, a friend has a Mustang with a TVS2300 Supercharger, fast car. To get on topic, I like your generation Mustang and if I had one, I'd just get an exhaust and wheels, I like and drive it.
We love the LS platform, such an amazing motor!! I reckon the Coyote is less interesting to DIY tuners because of its complexity, ie quad cam etc. with an LS it’s so much easier to throw a cam in and tune however you like, which Chris is about to do on his actually.
@@Auto_Funk NA power is less expensive to get with a LS, just 1 cam, 16 vs 32 springs etc. Also having attended a tuning school for HP tuners for the LS, the LS is much easier to tune than the Coyote but the Coyote has the benefit of factory wide band O2s. The LT with direct injection and torque based tuning is more complex than the LS and maybe a toss up with the Coyote.
Deffo agree - Love the purity of the LS, how basic it is but yet it is extremely reliable, makes great power and is also efficient (good mpg)... LS is still our favourite engine platform even though we've also got an LT5 (ZR-1) and now a Coyote to add in the mix!
That 420 bhp is really down. The wife drives the soft top as a daily drive and it came from ford with 460! As standard. Great colour by the way. Leave as standard and get rid of the K&N. The standard car rocks.
You think? We quite like them, it gives the car a beefy stance (we are usually very much OEM car people but in the Mustang's case we can make an exception!)
@@Auto_Funk on the 2015-17 cars they are prone to failure. Oil separator fails and mixes the water and oil. Options are to buy a blanking plate and a bypass water hose (this is what I have) or do an oil cooler upgrade. Big money and work and not needed either. Car operates fine with the bypass
780 sterling is a bargain lads, 2400 euro to tax that for a year in Ireland. About 45,000euro for a 2016 to buy, you guys don't know how good you have it, enjoy.
TBH, with it being so filthy, I'd offer to snow-foam it and shampoo with GTechnic up here in Shropshire just for the hell of hearing those pipes coming down the road (my neighbour works nights!!)
If only we knew that last week when Llew was staying in Malpas! Oh well! Thanks for the offer, perhaps if we're up your way we can swing round for a little wash :)
@@Auto_Funk Maybe a few hours being more economical and attainable considering the rate to rent a track. Not the whole day, long enough to let the cars run to redline. Thanks for responding.
@@Auto_Funk Thanks for responding. I feel so special. My daily is an '04 C5 with cam and supporting mods. HPtuned 412 wheel HP. No subscriber limit for your channel! Great stuff. I've been subbed to your channel since the scene of the ZR1 covered in moss, algae, and living organisms like that interesting looking snail. Later or sooner, it's up to you this great YT channel; ship the ZR1 to the US and drive it on one of the long straight highways in the Western areas where you can see straight ahead for 5 miles. Open the Zee Rrr One the Fu ck up. You will hear the motor shift into a different sound happening at 150MPH + in 6th gear on that singular design engine made by Mercury Marine. It's a boat motor! Well sorta.
No worries - Your C5 sounds mega, I bet it is great fun! Thanks so much for sticking with us and we're really glad you enjoy our vids! As for the ZR-1 isn't it amazing how well the boat motor goes!! Ha!! It would be awesome to drive it in America, maybe one day that dream will come true for us!
I (Llew) did notice that - It needs a little adjustment, as do the rear lights and rear panel... ! Might get my mate Marcus to sort it for me (who fixed the Maserati)
I no longer live in the UK, i live in Canada, so as you can imagine these no longer translate like they used to.........now, think Audi drivers, Beemer drivers........and Nova drviers with a dash of footballer driver all rolled into one..........
Ha! Well strangely enough I (Llew) was driving the Mustang yesterday with my wife and we were laughing about how it's the type of thing a jock footballer would drive in an American film... ! :) They seem to be quite liked by people in the UK generally although this one currently turns heads for the wrong reasons ("wtf is that noisy f'ing thing?!"!)
Ha! Yep we've seen those... We don't want to be "that guy"! :) Tyres on this one are a month old (Goodyear Eagle F1) and seem fairly confidence inspiring so far, even in the winter weather
How dare you buy a car that doesn’t have numerous unknown problems!! This is a beauty of “arrive and drive”. For silliness, maybe put a supercharger kit on it?
Makes a change eh :) Supercharger would be rather fun for sure. First we need to sort the exhaust so we can drive it without feeling like everybody hates us. !
Nice to know you're concerned for your neighbours, but that 'Stang sounds glorious ! Beemer sounds like some skellintons having a w£nk in a biscuit tin !! Nice addition to the channel , there.
Ha! We won't tell Pete you said that! :) The Mustang sounds absolutely mega doesn't it. We've already had one neighbour mention they can "feel it in their living room" so will probably need to do something soonish.... !
@@Auto_Funk You'd be doing the right thing keeping the 'H' pipe , they make that Coyote engine sound a little less flat-plane, and more V8-like. If you wanted to please all the folks all the time, fit cut-outs, as well as some kinda silencers . 'You know it makes sense' . Ask yer old folks abot that quote !
It’s impossible to please everyone! H pipe definitely staying, we are going to look at remote valve but if it’s too much effort we will probably just put the standard back boxes on and call it done 👍🏻 😎😎
They do sound amazing, even standard! We're hopging the addition of the silencers will make it pretty much perfect :) (ie throaty but not too extreme!)
Hmm - I didn't see that one! Similar values to the UK then, perhaps a little less! I wish Corvette C7's were the same prices as the USA over here, there would be one on my drive! :)
He's a very busy boy with work and that coupled with the weather and getting dark at 4pm this time of year makes filming very difficult - We have to film when we have a spare money and since I (Llew) have the camera equipment and do the editing Chris isn't always available... He collected the Mustang with me though and you do get to see him briefly at the end of this vid! Normal service will resume in the new year!
Hopefully Llew will come up and film some of my C5 budget performance engine build soon because I am itching to get started on it. Going to wake the old gal up. Breaking up for Christmas holidays soon so should have a bit of time :)!
"Let us know in the comments what you think we bought?" Video title is "We bought the cheapest 2016 Mustang V8 Manual RHD Gen 6 S550 In the UK - Is it too good to be true?" 😂😂
Not a huge fan of the standard wheels either but it's way too much hassle and ££ to change them... We love the exhaust but it's simply too loud, if you heard it in real life you'd agree we reckon!
I know what you mean , however it certainly ups the useability over here so I’ll take the trade off ☺️☺️☺️ are you in the US? Do US car guys prefer RHD British cars?
I tell you what dude, come over and take it for a rip - If you think it still doesn't need changing then let me know... You'll have to give me a haircut while you're at it (whichever style you have will be just fine! :) )

That is useful to know ! You can keep a body in the boot 😂😂😂😂
Ha! You never know when that might come in handy! :)
I really would like one of those… now I want to buy one just so I can get those exhaust pipes for free!
Ha!! Have them and stick them on the GT - That would raise some local eyebrows I'm sure!!
That 420 bhp is really down. The wife drives the soft top as a daily drive and it came from ford with 460! As standard. Great colour by the way. Leave as standard and get rid of the K&N. The standard car rocks.
Strange eh! It's a UK/Euro thing... Emissions! :( Not sure if there is a way to get them up to US specs.... !
Great car but the spacers are a bit too much. Love the rims but without the spacers it will look better
You think? We quite like them, it gives the car a beefy stance (we are usually very much OEM car people but in the Mustang's case we can make an exception!)
Oil cooler delete or oil cooler upgrade. Get the floor tray off and check to see if the original is there
Thanks for the tip! Is the standard one crap then? Why would you replace or remove it?
I'd do an oil cooler upgrade. Best way to avoid engine failures.
Really useful tips guys!! We will 100% look into this - It seems like a ridiculous way to kill an engine! :(
How do you find these cars so cheap!! Bargain even with the offensive exhaust!👍
A bit of luck and some shrewd negotiating! 😅😅😅 cheers for watching, looking forward to changing the exhaust so it’s a bit more usable !
If it was me get a turbo kit for it and boom from 420bho to 800ish easy
Can you imagine what a handful it would be !!! Ha!
The car looks much better in blue than it would black. Blue might even suit your stripes!
We agree - It's a really nice shade of blue and looks superb... Stripes would 100% suit it!
Road tax is going to be horrendous on these things next year.
Yep, on the new ones - Luckily the huge price hike doesn't apply to older models!
It's already £700+ on this car. But it the best £700 you can part with.
It isn’t cheap!! I think it’s £780!!! Worth it though for running around in such a cool car!
780 sterling is a bargain lads, 2400 euro to tax that for a year in Ireland. About 45,000euro for a 2016 to buy, you guys don't know how good you have it, enjoy.
@@jaws6869 tell you what fella I love in the North of your Ireland too. I had no idea it cost that much south of the border. That day light robbery.
I leave for work at 6:30 am, my neighbours would love me if I was in that! 😠🤣. I do need a V8 in my life at some point 👍
Hahah!! I’m waiting for the community posts on our local FB group asking who the idiot with the noisy blue car is!
@@Auto_Funk Happy to oblige at your convenience. I'll even use my softened water, maybe it will damp down the pipes.....
It’ll take more than a bit of soft water to tame that exhaust!! 😅
Rent a track, bring all the cars. Race them against each other. The coyote chasing the road runner. Meep meep.
That would be a fun day out!
@@Auto_Funk Maybe a few hours being more economical and attainable considering the rate to rent a track. Not the whole day, long enough to let the cars run to redline. Thanks for responding.
We could do a "run what you brung" open event, that would work well - Take 3-4 cars with us, that would definitely be a fun day out! :)
If you want to sell in the Spring, let me know ❤
Will do! Fancy a 'stang do you?! They are incredible value and great fun :)
@@Auto_Funk I’ve always liked the design and you can’t beat an American V8 imo.
Mega aren't they! Loads of presence in the UK and a good alternative to the usual fast German cars most people tend to like over here!
👌👌👌👌
:) :)
That bumper gap on the passenger side of the wing isn't right compared to the drivers side. That would drive me mad.
I (Llew) did notice that - It needs a little adjustment, as do the rear lights and rear panel... ! Might get my mate Marcus to sort it for me (who fixed the Maserati)
@@Auto_Funk I also noticed the rear lights but I could live with them just not that front haha. Obviously the body shop rushed the refitting.
Weirdly the rear lights bug me more than the front! Those should be easy to sort, I will have a look over Christmas :)
WOW, fantastic car but I would not like to pay the ved price starting in April 2025 !
Fortunately that only applies to brand new cars - Eye watering isn't it!!
Have those rear lights been changed! 🤔
Well spotted - They have, they are the sequential type and don't fit particularly well but they do look quite cool :)
@@Auto_FunkAre non-amber indicators legal?
No but these ones are led and the indicators are orange 🍊 when in use even though they’re completely red when off…
I no longer live in the UK, i live in Canada, so as you can imagine these no longer translate like they used to.........now, think Audi drivers, Beemer drivers........and Nova drviers with a dash of footballer driver all rolled into one..........
OK, you've redeemed yourself and I forgive you for selling the Maserati. THIS is a fantastic muscle car.
Glad you approve dude!! 🤪
Just watch UA-cam videos of mustangs leaving car shows. Ya know stuff like that. I believe clarkson referred to it on top gear!!!!
dont change the exhaust
It should have an exhaust with a valve in it, so you can open it when the coast is clear 😂
That's a good idea, it would be a fun button to press! :)
The Roush cat back on an H-Pipe sounds amazing. Great old school tone.
They do sound amazing, even standard! We're hopging the addition of the silencers will make it pretty much perfect :) (ie throaty but not too extreme!)
how does a corvette owner buy a ford ?
I wonder who died in it to make it so cheap 😂
HA! It was Llew's shrewd negotiation that made it so cheap... No bodies in the boot or in the car we hope!
You asked what a car would go for over here
I did - A few bucks and a case of beer?! :D
@ 😂😂
@ I sent a link with a Facebook post for marketplace ad for a car with similar miles and everything it was asking 24K
Hmm - I didn't see that one! Similar values to the UK then, perhaps a little less! I wish Corvette C7's were the same prices as the USA over here, there would be one on my drive! :)
I rashly bought a stick of gum yesterday. I know I shouldn't have but what are you gonna do?
😅😅
Go loud or go home. Subtle it is not!. It would look good with a sixties style Shelby stripe kit on it.
100% agree, we're thinking a "wide" white stripe kit rather than the narrorwer ones.... It would look even more beefy :)
Where is Chris?
Hope he is ok,
He's a busy boy at the mo - He'll be the main star of our next vid though! (you will see him at the end of this one briefly!)
@Auto_Funk as long as he is good, thanks for the videos though chaps, I appreciate you have a life outside of youtube 😀
Thanks - Yeah he's really good, it's just so hard to find time to film together this time of year! :(
Wheres Chris these days?
Boys... Promise you won't do mustang "things" in your new vehicle. Just sayin!!! Cheers!!!
Oh no! What are Mustang "things"?! You got us intrigued!
Don't like it to big for the UK roads
You’d think so but they are dimensionally almost identical to an M4 or Audi A5 coupe …. !
"Let us know in the comments what you think we bought?" Video title is "We bought the cheapest 2016 Mustang V8 Manual RHD Gen 6 S550 In the UK - Is it too good to be true?" 😂😂
Well spotted - We changed the title once most people had seen what it is... ! Hope you enjoyed it anyway :)
😂😂 to good to be true? 😂😂😂 it’s a right drive Mustang! Good luck you’ll need it.
Ha! Are you based in the US? Gen 6 considered a risky purchase where you are? They’re (as far as I know) not known for unreliability here!
Bargain price! I would keep the exhaust. The colours mint. A strip kit would look nice. Only thing I'm not fond of are the wheels.
Not a huge fan of the standard wheels either but it's way too much hassle and ££ to change them... We love the exhaust but it's simply too loud, if you heard it in real life you'd agree we reckon!
@ I have a straight piped R33 skyline 🤣 the noise definitely wouldn't bother me.
Oooh!! That sounds like a weapon! In that case you'd be fine with it!
RHD and American cars shouldn't be a thing. Loses the American character.
I know what you mean , however it certainly ups the useability over here so I’ll take the trade off ☺️☺️☺️ are you in the US? Do US car guys prefer RHD British cars?
@@Auto_Funk I'm in Yorkshire 😂and own a 2014 Camaro SS that has a nice big lumpy cam in it 😍😎
Yorkshire! What a legend 🙌 totally know what you mean about LHD, the Corvettes we have feel loads more “American” than the Mustang for sure 👍🏻
Why change the Exhaust ffs ,are you insane
Need a haircut, Get rid of the Mop on top
I tell you what dude, come over and take it for a rip - If you think it still doesn't need changing then let me know... You'll have to give me a haircut while you're at it (whichever style you have will be just fine! :) )
@Auto_Funk Telling you on the Original ,dont need Changing , i inow a Good Gardner for you Mop lol
