I remember this ride being my first ever major rollercoaster when I was around 7 or 8 when it was the Missile at the American Adventure! Nice to see its still in use today! Would love to ride it again and relive my childhood one day! :D
Never been on any roller coast till this one at Pleasurewoods Hills. Funny enough I wasn't nervous nor scared. Boy did I enjoyed it. As I came off my legs were like jelly.
I came here with my friends last month and I’d never been on wipeout before so I was very scared to go on it as I’ve never been on an upside down rollercoaster but I actually loved it! Although when going backwards, when we dropped I did hit the back of my head on my seat so I’d advise everyone to keep their head pressed against the seat! But apart from that it was a fun ride
I went on this so many times in the late 80’s when it was The Missile at the American Adventure park. Loved it!! Would like to go on it again for nostalgia!
I live about 7 miles from Drayton Manor & there is no Vekoma Boomerang at that park. There is a stand up coaster called Shockwave & a prototype Vekoma family coaster called Accelerator - but that has no inversions & is much smaller & family friendly. Sadly the Boomerang at Pleasurewood Hills is the last one in the UK. There were Boomerangs at Butlins, Pwhelli, Wales, West Mids Safari Park, Kidderminster & of course Wipeout at Pleasurewood Hills was once The Missile at The American Adventure.
The very first time I rode the Wipeout was the only time I had actually screamed on an extreme based roller coaster, well that was when the train went backwards, because it went so fast and the fact that I had never rode an extreme based roller coaster where the track goes upside down before at the time.
This was the first Rollercoaster I ever went on when it was called The Missile at The American Adventure 17 years ago! Glad to see it being looked after since it got moved!
I'm going here in a few weeks! I thought by the sounds of things it would have kiddie rides and I've always been scared of roller coasters that go upside down, but now I'm starting to like them and have been on a couple randomly and I CAN'T FRICKING WAIT TO GO ON THIS!
The closest I'll ever be to going on a ride with a loop in it. edit: the update we’ve been waiting for- i went on this coaster 4 times today. i guess after 2 years i finally conquered my fear
Hi, If im right i believe that this started as the Coca Cola roller from the Glasgow garden festival 1988. It brings back so many memories i was 15 and and my Aunty Anne was the only one who would take me on it. all the best.
yes! this happened to me the night after i went to alton towers, i thought it was just me and my sensitivity towards coasters - but clearly not! my head was pounding all night and my stomach was churning like when you go upside down..
I went on this when it was at American Adventure - school trip.. first theme park visit.. year 5 or 6 I think.. but yeah it broke down at the top of the first drop - remember being stuck their for a short while until we was slowly brought to the bottom and told to get off... literally days later I remember seeing the news about it being out of service... was the last thing I heard about it until I learned the entire theme park isn't even there any more...
Just been on this two days ago as I was staying at Haven Hopton. Great coaster but it does bang about a bit. Pulls some seriously good Gs though for an old coaster.
DrDewott Very true. When I first went to Busch Gardens Florida in 99, I rode the Python coaster with two corkscrews. For an old coaster built in the 70's it was still great
i went when i was 8 and when i was 13 last year it’s so scary and i had my eyes closed most of it and my head looking down because i was so scared to look what was happening
I've always been reluctant to go on the WipeOut but after seeing that and being like, "Woah I'm getting a weird feelin in ma stomach" i'm actually contemplating whether going on it or not now.
I went on this ride last week and it was the first time I’ve been on it I was sooooo scared but it was bloody amazing and I went on it like ten times with my brothersI went Friday
I passed out on this ride and I was out for pretty much the whole thing it must have been the second upside down all the way to the last but I’m not sure I don’t remember
I wouldn't recommend it as your first ever extreme based roller coaster though, see my comment and tell me if you agree, as I wasn't fearless the very first time I rode the Wipeout; my face looked petrified.
The only Vekoma Boomerang I've ever ridden. The queues were massive when I went back in 2011, so sadly I only managed the one go. The only cred I didn't manage was Enigma. I drew the line at an 1 & 1/2hr queue for it with my kids in tow! lol.
Sam Bee Enigma gets massive queues due to the lower height restriction and single train operation. I'll get on it one day though! ;) Wipeout was great fun!
pleasurewood hills will turn into oxford park atracttions that are going to be at oxford park; the former golden dreams ride at disney california adventure called shrek's swamp tour, cannoball express will be renamed rhino trail, the former colossus at six flags magic mountain called ugly twisters, a intamin multi drop 4 ride called enigma, the vekoma version of hyperion at energylandia called velocerator, a roller coaster exactly like spinball whizzer except all indoors called shift back, wipeout, parrot show, a roller coaster exactly like the wild one at six flags america called power surge; ride of wood, a ride exactly like bombs away at mountain creek water park new jersy called swampy's ride, a roller coaster exactly like runaway mine train at alton towers uk except all indoors called wendigo; the mine train beast, the former terror tomb at chessington world of adventures called scooby doo's haunted castle, a roller coaster exactly like vampire at chessington world of adventures called the bat, a lion and tiger exibhit called big africa, a zamperla disk'O 16 called king snake, the former 2000 leauges under the sea at disney world called mariana trench sumbarine voyage, a playground with the exact same layout as the tolt family playground in central park new york city called playland, a roller coaster exactly like pepsi orange streak at nickelodeon universe minnesota called samurai, madagascar live prepare to party live stage show, wave swinger will be renamed UG swinger, sea lion show,
I highly doubt it. Looking at it recently Pleasure wood hills are only changing fireball with another ride. They seem like they are doing well for themselves

Never been on any roller coast till this one at Pleasurewoods Hills. Funny enough I wasn't nervous nor scared. Boy did I enjoyed it. As I came off my legs were like jelly.
I went on this ride about 30 times in one day, my neck and back were killing me for the rest of the week
I came here with my friends last month and I’d never been on wipeout before so I was very scared to go on it as I’ve never been on an upside down rollercoaster but I actually loved it! SAME
And now it is the UK's only remaining Boomerang Roller Coaster, I can't wait to get the credit for Wipeout in April.
East Midlands Videography Drayton manor has a boomerang coaster
I had the credit when I was 7
Leo’s Nature Show no there isn’t
There are a bunch of boomerang coasters in the us lol both of the six flags parks that are in ny have one
@@hffdssh same
The speed ot the beggining is terrifying
I went on this so many times in the late 80’s when it was The Missile at the American Adventure park. Loved it!! Would like to go on it again for nostalgia!
Sadly with the boomerang being taken down at pleasure island, wipeout becomes the only one of this type of boomerang coaster left in the UK.
interceptor1986 no Drayton manor

@@somegameplayiguess3833 you’re thinking of g-force one with a inverting lift hill which is now closed.
Going here tomorrow with my friends first time actually I can't wait! Also love this channel
Thank you for loving my comment
I went on this the other day, and that was the most exiting first looped coaster of my entire life!!
The very first time I rode the Wipeout was the only time I had actually screamed on an extreme based roller coaster, well that was when the train went backwards, because it went so fast and the fact that I had never rode an extreme based roller coaster where the track goes upside down before at the time.

This was my first loopy coaster, and I have to say its very bumpy and jolty but still my favourite
Went on this when i was ten, best day of my life!

I always used to be jealous of my siblings being able to go on it when I was younger but my god I would never go on that!
I remember I went on it and later that night when I was lying in bed it felt like I was going upside down.

sad to see that its gone
Went on this yesterday for the first time. First ride I went on at 10.15am!!
So happy that the American adventure might be opening it's only 3min drive from my house!

Looks awesome
I WENT ON THIS RIDE SO EPICK
Just been on this two days ago as I was staying at Haven Hopton. Great coaster but it does bang about a bit. Pulls some seriously good Gs though for an old coaster.
To be honest then sometimes the oldest coasters are the most forceful! I mean just look at all the worlds Schwarzkopf coasters.
DrDewott Very true. When I first went to Busch Gardens Florida in 99, I rode the Python coaster with two corkscrews. For an old coaster built in the 70's it was still great

I've been on a ride exactly the same as this, at pleasure island cleethorpes
i rode this at american avventure, it was really great.
I went on at the start of June, and since I've heard bad things about boomerangs, down the drop I shouted
"WHY VEKOMAAAAAA"
My favorite ride at pleasurewood, second is Jolly rancher.
Anyone noticed that the font two inventions together are shaped like a wave
I like the tiny bursts of wew from the rider lol

It got stuck at the top nearer the end of the day luckily wasn't onboard
I had to put my feet on the board in front as I thought I was gonna fall out lol

Sam Bee Enigma gets massive queues due to the lower height restriction and single train operation. I'll get on it one day though! ;) Wipeout was great fun!
LittlestarRed I was talking about the Wipeout, that too gets massive queues sometimes. Probably because it is a very popular attraction.
Sam Bee Sorry, silly me! Yes it is very popular!!
LittlestarRed I was waiting in the queue for for about an hour and a half just to go on the Wipeout.
