I told my wife (who’s a Sisters fan)the story of the Sisters asking the recruit to sing and she mentioned that it shows on the “Mark of Faith” book she’s reading. They’re such a fantastic faction!
yep, he asked the pope for a divorce and the pope said 'no, you have no reason to get a divorce. your wife failing to provide an heir is not a good enough excuse, neither is you having a wandering eye.' So he decided to basically excommunicate himself from the catholic church, form the church of england, and tell the new church he wanted a divorce which he was quickly granted. several times.
The whole deal with Lorgar and his book reminds me of how the guy who originally wrote the book about "Alpha males" and "Beta males" in wolf packs, realized he was wrong, and that those were actually just the parents of the pack, and when he tried to tell people that he was wrong, everyone had already latched onto the Alpha/Beta idea.

I just joined recently. And I feel the same. These guys, filled the gap of “nerding out with friends” As most lore channels are just one person. What’s also nice, is really neither seems to have much of an ego. It just works well, nice, goofy fun dudes.
It was also a great excuse for him to take the vast wealth of the church in England and use it for his own ends. Plus the amount of debauchery and gluttony included he makes a pretty good comparison for Goge

Assasinorum absolutely. Hi from Australia and my fun fact is that there was a period of time where we had a bunch of exorcists running around. One lady had bad seizures so they did a ritual and ended up killing her but because she turned blue they thought the devil was being expelled. So they left the corpse for like 3 WEEKS.
Omg have you actually gone through some of the absolute bs they can pull with those? Brickys ebon chalice build is one great example, nothing but fire, wounds, and miracles out the wazoo

Hope you do a deep dive on White Scars at some point.
7:40 you asked about reinforcing their stained glass with metal, they literally just have more sturdy glass, called Armorglass, they trusted it to keep a primarch held back(nude primarch, no weapons, no armor) and it did, until he started foaming at the mouth.(the primarch was Vulcan, self proclaimed physically strongest primarch)
The more I learn about the sisters of battle, the more I like them. As a faction, they are completely insane. Their fanaticism and love for flamers and melta is just perfect. Those who simply dismiss them as "nuns with guns" are missing out on a lot.
There's an aquatic preserve here in Michigan that sounds like it was lifted out of 40k. It's called Shipbreaker Bay or Thunder Bay. The unique shape of the bay as well as its geographic location causes unexpected fog banks to just show up out of nowhere. The Bottom goes from 500ft deep to 15ft deep in a span of 30ft, and it's constantly shifting due to the tides from Lake Huron. There's a limestone reef with boulders the size of dumptrucks that stretches out for a mile into the water. There are hundreds of ships on the bottom of the bay that either ran aground, sank, or capsized because of the waves.

Isyander's knack for public speaking and presentation is extremely impressive while Koda keeps things grounded. It's a great dynamic. The presentation itself is serious where it should be serious and irreverent where it needs to be irreverent. I think I'll be pointing people to your work from here on out. Good stuff.
Two truths and a conspiracy theory. Lorgar is chaos Girlyman. The Sisters of Battle are human versions of Orks, for they believe the music works and it does. And Big E. Will die in a future book, and the mechanism that interfaces with the golden throne unlocks its speakers and it just boom boxes his hymns into the warp for his epic rap battle with the chaos gods.
Monarchia isn’t on Lorgar's home world. It was his example of a perfect devoted city and culture. Also, Big E likely knew simething about Lorgar's preaching. He seemingly let it go until it slowed conquest to much.
The British King you guys were thinking of was Henry VIII, who created the Church of England just so he could divorce his first wife and marry a younger woman to get a son, and after making himself the Supreme Head of this new Church of England he bestowed himself the power to divorce and/or murder his six wives at will and not even God was allowed to judge him for it. His daughter, a little known lady by the name of Queen Elizabeth I, would leave this structure in place but demoted herself to Supreme Governor of the Church because Henry VIII 's original title made it sound like her Dad thought he was God and outranked Jesus, which I personally think the psychopath really did consider himself to be.
"My immortal." It is now my head cannon that all Sisters of Battle Hymns sound like Evanescence if it were an orchestral metal band.....so somewhere between Epica and Within Temptation.
I think I find it interesting how darktide took this idea with the zealot like he is able to survive any fatal blow once and gain heat because of his devotion the problem is that devotion can be misplaced and I find it funny to think we’re this small Scottish dude sees a demon of Nurgle gets hit so hard he goes though a wall into a pile of corrupted guardsmen and just comes out covered in a mix his and his enemies blood ready to go again
Small correction about loregar , the emperor didnt burn his homeplanet to the ground, it was monarchia and he "only" used the ultramarines and the wordbearers where not there when it happened but monarchia sent a message to them that they need help , after they where humiliated by the emperor the wordbearers found 10 surviors one was a woman that had not been very fateful before this but was now and she became part of their legoin after all this
THe quote "Only a true god would deny his divinty" is also a quote from Monty Python's Life of Brian. In the movie the might say Messiah but the quote is almost exaclty the same. I'm gonna give GW the benefit of the doubt and just love that irony.
Hey guys, thanks for the podcast 😁! For the king that created his own religion, normally it's Henry the VIII, one of the king in England. Also, he was known to kill/ruin the life of every wife he had in his life. Not really the gentleman type!
In a way the Age of Apostasy is worse than the Horus Heresy for 2 reasons: 1) Horus was an "external" enemy fighting the Imperium, Vandire WAS the Imperium eating itself, no foe to rally against 2) This was not a Chaos thing, all of the deaths, all the suffering was 100% human fault
You say don't martyr yourself because life is good. I say don't martyr yourself so your life of toil and suffering can be an act of penance in glory to the Emperor!!! We are not the same.
I imagine the Captain General just standing there, parrying blows from force swords with his pinkey, slapping plasma blasts aside and grilling marshmallows in melta fire just calmly going "Lady, I am a personal confidant of the emperor, I was at his side before the Astartes were even unveiled. And I can say with certainty, you have been lied to, the evil name dumbass has perverted the Emperor's will and deceived you. I know it's not your strong suit, but stop and think for a moment."
I’m fairly certain that another reason people believed that the emperor was a god/divine is that during the age of strife many planets (including Lorgar’s home world) had prophesies that paraphrasing said ‘a great divine being that will come from Terra clad in golden armour and save them from the terrors of old night.’
So I'm one of those "new binge-ers," and I love you kids. And I don't mean that dismissively or disrespectfully. I started to fall for 40k back in 6th grade; that was over a quarter of a century ago. Unfortunately, we were poor. Wasn't exactly able to afford the figurines. The publication of Dawn of War was a godsend. I was finally able to enjoy the 40k universe on my broke ass budget. Many, many years later, I discovered Luetin. I've loved his content, but it is so esoteric sometimes; I love his work and his voice, but I don't always have the requisite knowledge to understand all of the significance. That's where you two have come in. You've filled in some gaps of my knowledge and with funny genZ humor. Being a millennial, I'm supposed to hate genZ, but I love you two. Keep it up and I'm looking forward to more!

On the king and the church thing, it was Henry VIII, created the Church of England so he could get divorced which wasn’t allowed by the Catholic Church at that point
I found you guys a few weeks ago and I've absolutely binged all your videos, even rewatching the ones I especially enjoyed. Keep up the great work fellas. You've covered a lot of my favorite characters and factions already, but I would love to see your guy's take on the Lamenters. I feel like they're the perfect blend of the brutality of 40k and the less seen hopeful side of the universe.
As far as I remember from the book “Our Martyred Lady” the Gemini Superior that Celestine always has with her don’t resurrect with her, they’re chosen out of the ranks of whatever sisters happen to be present
Wanting the Assasinorum, mostly to hear about them discuss about the assassin that would time all her assassinations with her stepping foot back inside her institute. Also, to answer the question about the Church of England question that they posed, it was King Henry VII. He wanted to divorce his first wife and marry his second wife, but the church said no, so he created the Church of England, just so that he could divorce his wife and marry his side piece.

Lastly, and this is the most important point here, why did you feel the need to come into the comment section, look at MY comment that had nothing controversial to speak of and certainly no reference to guns and try swing your embarrassingly small wiener around.
I live in central coast NSW, come shoot me pussy.
@@lithium1770 Australia banning all guns and being cool because it actually cares more about people than lobbying asshats and fundamentalists enters the chat - there, fixed it for you.
Big fan of ScoMo shitting himself in a McDonald's years back, truly the Avatar of the Liberal party
@@lithium1770 Ehhhhh, We're all originated from Convicts over here remember? And we had access to alcohol of all things, Im more surprised it was ever legal.
I told my wife (who’s a Sisters fan)the story of the Sisters asking the recruit to sing and she mentioned that it shows on the “Mark of Faith” book she’s reading. They’re such a fantastic faction!
Henry the 8th pushed his own church so he could get a divorce
yep, he asked the pope for a divorce and the pope said 'no, you have no reason to get a divorce. your wife failing to provide an heir is not a good enough excuse, neither is you having a wandering eye.' So he decided to basically excommunicate himself from the catholic church, form the church of england, and tell the new church he wanted a divorce which he was quickly granted. several times.
Guys I just have to say I love your Warhammer podcasts. No one can hold a candle to The way you hype up a faction that makes us so enjoyable.
Have you watched Lutin09
The whole deal with Lorgar and his book reminds me of how the guy who originally wrote the book about "Alpha males" and "Beta males" in wolf packs, realized he was wrong, and that those were actually just the parents of the pack, and when he tried to tell people that he was wrong, everyone had already latched onto the Alpha/Beta idea.
I gotta say, I'm really impressed and happy at how fast you guys are growing as a channel and a community. I subbed at roughly 26k and not even a month later you guys have jumped to 44k. Super happy for you guys and can't wait to see where this channel goes. Keep up the awesome content.
I just joined recently.
And I feel the same.
These guys, filled the gap of “nerding out with friends”
As most lore channels are just one person.
What’s also nice, is really neither seems to have much of an ego.
It just works well, nice, goofy fun dudes.
The king you was looking for was king henry the 8th, fun fact he made the COE to get a divorce also great episode loving the content
Lol oh yea the only king to do so
It was also a great excuse for him to take the vast wealth of the church in England and use it for his own ends. Plus the amount of debauchery and gluttony included he makes a pretty good comparison for Goge
@@caseydunn8699 I mean your not wrong with all the whoring and feasting he did
He wanted to hit it n quit it. But only twice. He beheaded just as many wives. One died, the last outlived him. Xx
YEAH BABY MORE LYSANDER AND KODA
SKEEEE🎉🎉🎉
WOOOOOOOOOOOO
I thought the exact same thing!!!
Kysander and Ioda
it’s taken me a year, but this episode has finally convince me that I don’t hate the sisters of battle.
Really good team. I just spent two hours watching @Baldermort latest release so I am well and truly 40k spoiled for the day.🇬🇧❤️🙃👌
This has nothing to do with Sisters, but since discovering you two this show has become my go-to while painting minis. Absolutely love the work you guys are putting in!
The fact that Sisters of Battle have an actual Miracle Dice rule on the tabletop ❤
Omg have you actually gone through some of the absolute bs they can pull with those? Brickys ebon chalice build is one great example, nothing but fire, wounds, and miracles out the wazoo
I picked up the Inquisition: martyr game yesterday(got bored of Diablo) the Sisters are in it and didn't know anything other then Battle Nuns. Yet what do I wake up to ? You two are awesome.
When will we get the individual lore dumps on singular Primarchs? I wanna hear the story of Angry Angron, Loregar, and Horus. would be cool to see how they came to be fully.
Theres adeptus ridiculous.
My favorite dumb realization was that the primarch of the word bearers is (lore)gar XD
Hey, guys I just want to thank you. Thanks to you guys (and Aedeptus Ridiculous) my wife and I started playing 40K. She wanted Tyranids and I wanted to play Space Marines. With the new Leviathan box it was utterly perfect timing. Thanks for hyping us into this new hobby. Your lore drops are one of the things I look forward to every week.
Didn’t know how much I needed a warhammer podcast, keep up the great work guys 🙏
Hello, it is I, one of the two people that got the "My Immortal" reference. Thank you for reminding me of one of my favorite bands as a kid while simultaneously reminding me of my days in fanfiction writing because god emperor knows that shouldn't be possible >_>
Guess im the other one XD ive only heard bits of my immortal but i was making that joke in my head just before he said it XD
So happy this got made. Adepta Sororitas was the first army I started playing in 40K, they got shafted and their retribution was entertaining
Isyander and Koda are quite phenomena... Keep it going and you've just made me loooooove the sisters🤧🌹
My favorite part of this release schedule is that it lines up with my closing shifts so I get to listen while I close!😊
Probably should have mentioned they fought off The Imperial Fist, Black Templars, Fire Hawks, AND Soul Drinkers on Terra to a stalemate but very good coverage
I bought a set of sisters to play a hospitaler for a Wrath and Glory campaign and these two vids are making me take the utmost care in trying to paint her.
I love discovering you guys, and having over 16 hours worth of warhammer 40K content, and honestly you 2 have butter smooth voices its amazing yo have in the background
47:04 One did fall to Slaanesh called Miriael Sabathiel, and then there’s the ones that fell to Khorne when he did something other than sitting on his throne
Hard when the one you worship doesn't want your worship and the other options are actively recruiting for your skill sets 😂
Also julia sansoucy, she and four others fell for slaanesh and created the sisters of the night warband
You thought it was over? You thought you had won? Ha! You fools, i have been here, i remain here! I am Alpharius, the Crusade continues!
I have been a fan of Warhammer 40k for 20 years. I've seen channels come and go, and while I'm sure you plan to branch out from Warhammer, I have to say your guys' presentation is some of the best. Isyander's knack for public speaking and presentation is extremely impressive while Koda keeps things grounded. It's a great dynamic. The presentation itself is serious where it should be serious and irreverent where it needs to be irreverent. I think I'll be pointing people to your work from here on out. Good stuff.
Every early Sunday morning (UK) during my night shift is always improved with a video from you two great guys
The way you broke down Lorgar's perspective was awesome! This is the first vid of yours that I've seen, I'll be watching others!
2 Sisters Of Battle vids? Let's gooooo!!! In His name we are be blessed
You know the emperor is probably tired of being here. His wounds don’t seem to heal, his pain is just too real.
Yoooooo😂
There’s just too much that time cannot erase.
"My immortal."
It is now my head cannon that all Sisters of Battle Hymns sound like Evanescence if it were an orchestral metal band.....so somewhere between Epica and Within Temptation.
Angry Scottish dude with a thunder hammer 🔨
Yeah we really need Sororitas if any more updates come 🙏
Plus they really need to buff the Hammers 😭
i like how he calls me out for sleeping in church on a sunday struck fear in my heart
I'd love to see an episode about the inquisition, its the one group I've never put time into learning about
Small correction about loregar , the emperor didnt burn his homeplanet to the ground, it was monarchia and he "only" used the ultramarines and the wordbearers where not there when it happened but monarchia sent a message to them that they need help , after they where humiliated by the emperor the wordbearers found 10 surviors one was a woman that had not been very fateful before this but was now and she became part of their legoin after all this
THe quote "Only a true god would deny his divinty" is also a quote from Monty Python's Life of Brian.
Henry VIII didn’t really create his own religion, more like he created a spinster sect within his religion.
In a way the Age of Apostasy is worse than the Horus Heresy for 2 reasons:
1) Horus was an "external" enemy fighting the Imperium, Vandire WAS the Imperium eating itself, no foe to rally against
2) This was not a Chaos thing, all of the deaths, all the suffering was 100% human fault
You say don't martyr yourself because life is good.
I say don't martyr yourself so your life of toil and suffering can be an act of penance in glory to the Emperor!!!
We are not the same.
The Lion is absolutely going to spill the beans about Lorgar's book club. There's no way he doesn't, with social skills like his
I imagine the Captain General just standing there, parrying blows from force swords with his pinkey, slapping plasma blasts aside and grilling marshmallows in melta fire just calmly going "Lady, I am a personal confidant of the emperor, I was at his side before the Astartes were even unveiled.
You literally can't make an omelette without skinning a couple orphans in a sense and I'm taking that with me the rest of my life
This episode is a banger! I put it on to go to sleep, no sleep found, only church drops.....
Evanescence reference Koda?
I can’t believe y’all have already tripled since I came here, y’all are awesome
This uh... this thumbnail... better not let the inquisition see it
Probally wont be covered but Tyberos "The Red Wake'' and his Chapter the Carcharodons would be awesome to cover .
Assassinorim is my vote. Loved the video today!
I can picture some kind of corrupted human that's a soldier chaos running throwing his gun aside and screaming as his sister chases after him in her repentant armor suit screaming you cant run form me. Theres always time to talk about our Lord and God
I just finished this episode as you uploaded the six. Amazing timing
my first army that I am currently building is a Sisters of Battle army. I am going with the Order of Ebon Chalice.
Absolutely loved this episode great conversation and banter Isyander and Koda. 😃🙏
Lysander and Koda posts new stuff. Great! Now i have something good to listen to while i'm painting minis
I really like the ticker tape doing names it's really cool watching you guys develop and I'm really glad somebody finally figured out that if you do Warhammer information in a conversational way it's a little bit easier to digest
I understood your My Immortal reference Koda, Internet Historian is the best for bringing this to my attention.
The my immortal reference had me torn between laughter and hatred, thank you koda
I think covering the months of shame could be amazing (Would love to see Koda's reaction to that)
Love this channel! It's nice having a new voice in the lore part of the hobby.
Tuning in from Texas, love you guys podcast. Making a request for the Night Lord's, please 🙏
I don't understand how you guys manage to keep *pumping* such bangers so quick, damn
I really appreciate your making these all of these in depth lore videos with the info in an easy to digest and understand format. :-)
On the king and the church thing, it was Henry VIII, created the Church of England so he could get divorced which wasn’t allowed by the Catholic Church at that point
Why aint this on the channel playlist? I legit didnt know it existed until it was recommended in my feed
I’d love to see an assassinorum episode. The Inquisition will have its day but assassins are cloaked in the shadows
50:43 I stood up and CHEERED at the DankPods shout-out
As far as I remember from the book “Our Martyred Lady” the Gemini Superior that Celestine always has with her don’t resurrect with her, they’re chosen out of the ranks of whatever sisters happen to be present
I imagine their Organ tank playing the Davy Johnes theme..
thank you, my immortal is now playing on repeat in my head
Wanting the Assasinorum, mostly to hear about them discuss about the assassin that would time all her assassinations with her stepping foot back inside her institute.
Also, to answer the question about the Church of England question that they posed, it was King Henry VII. He wanted to divorce his first wife and marry his second wife, but the church said no, so he created the Church of England, just so that he could divorce his wife and marry his side piece.
The pipe organ missiles are very much giving that guitarist guy with the flamethrower in his instrument from Mad Max Fury Road. Everybody loves that guy for all the right reasons. And he fits so well into the aesthetic
I see you Koda, wit that My Immortal Evanescence reference ;)
47:35 I feel you Brother Captain, its powerful stuff when you really think about it.
8 days late but proud to be one of the two guys that got the My immortal reference
You did not make a my immortal reference when talking about this sisters. Absolute mad lad
Never before have I wanted to subscribe to someone's Patreon so desperately. I hope that you guys keep up this absolutely amazing work on the other side of the paywall, and I only have confidence that you do! Also, I would love to see some videos made from the video polls that lost, it would be a great way to peer into some amazing topics that just didn't get the chance to make it past what we have today!
i found you from tiktok and both your vibes are so relaxing, love the discussions.
I think it would be amazing to see the Sisters initiate an engagement through animation. We'll likely never see a movie or game about them, so something like that would be nice.
I watched this video when it came out 8 months ago and only now on a passing whim do I realize there's a typo in the thumbnail. I hope this comment keeps Koda up at night.
Sisters of Battle is in my top 5 favorite factions, possibly top 3, but it has my favorite gameplay on the tabletop
Holy shit, I haven't laughed that hard in a while. Lorgar's relationship with the SoB and the book he wrote is hilarious and I would love to just read a series of vignettes featuring lorgar and his own fucked up fanfic
Glad i finally found this page. Checked you guys out on your shorts and instantly got hooked. Keep it up bois yall doing the Emperor's work
GREAT lore. and what a ying yang duo. Fantastic! I listen to you while i play WarHammer
