New rider here (took the Harley riders safety course using the Street 500) and right after getting my license I test rode a Triumph Street Twin (with Street Cup handlebar; previous owner requested the stock bar be swapped to the Street Cup he purchased) and the Ducati Scrambler Cafe Racer.
Having only ridden the three bikes listed, I absolutely fell in love with the Ducati and not because it's a Ducati. Back to back between it and the Street Twin was a noticeable difference in feel, handling, etc even from a complete noob like myself, and being 5'5" I felt fine comfort and size wise.
Then I cried afterwards because I fell for a bike that's well beyond my budget.
The Ducati is definitely a great bike! Keep an eye on the used market for the cafe racer, I'd presume by next spring you'll start to see pre-owned examples pop up and will be able to save a bit off of buying new.
Also, maybe look for a used standard Ducati Scrambler and then add some modifications to make it more cafe racerish?

Dull slow ride out huh, just straight lines. I don't get my knee down but jeeez, I want to bast cars on some nice sweeping corners. Considering the Cafe Racer as a second bike. Thanks for the ride along. Be nice to see more of the bike.
