I've seen fishtail braid before on some tutorials, but the instructions they give are always so much and they do it so fast, you can't really tell what they're doing, I love how SIMPLE your instructions were "take one piece and pass it over" then u showed how slowly. After 1 min, I know get how to do it, ty so much for this!!!

Wonderful! I came here because I saw a beautiful idea for an updo. Make an off-to-the-side fishtail, make sure it's nice and wide, then twist it into a bun and pin it together. That's it, and it looks good enough for a WEDDING!

I am compelled to comment: I have long hair, and I LOVE to braid it... I have watched videos (even bought a braid tool) and Ive been TRYING to figure out how to fishtail.... I AM A BRAIDING MACHINE! JUST figured it out and i am stoked!!! Took like 5 minutes, first try. I would say using the elastic helped, and I simply cut mine out when I was done.

I finally got it by watching this video. A fishtail is much easier because you dealing with two pieces as opposed to 3 (regular braid). Thanks for the great vid!

well, i tried evry single video to learn french braid. But this was the real help. Thnx heaps. I was all the time asking my friends to do it for me. But today for the first time I was able to do it myself:) I m happy 4ever now

I use fingernail clippers to cut the clear elastics out so I don't have to worry about cutting my hair
