Yesterday, i followed this guide and replaced mine in aboud 20 minutes. Car fired up on the 1st button push! Ottos Mini wanted around $1500. I got the Mini pump for $225 last summer.
Hey - I just wanted to say, I just did this job this afternoon on my 2010 Cooper S. Couldn't have done it without t his vid. Car started perfectly first crank! Thanks!
Great video! I had a 3 variations of this 2nd gen Mini Cooper S and I always wanted professional videos like this showing how to maintain them. I still watch these videos even though I don't own one.
Hello, I have some information to add. I had a car which the very same symptoms, and at the end It wasn't the fuel pump. Instead I changed just the fuel filter and all the problems went away. In cars with that mileage It's typical that with the time the fuel filter got stuck and the flow is not good so the car can stall. When I replaced the filter, the old one was dirty. The issue is not that the pump was starting to fail, the issue was that the engine didn't receive enough fuel. I have to add that the affected car wasn't a mini, It was a mercedes, but as I said the symptoms were the same: car started but stop after few seconds. If you press the pedal gass to increase the fuel flow the car continue running with no issue and once It was warm the probability of stall was lower. Once It cool down then we started again with the issue. With the new filter, after 2000 miles It didn't stall anymore, not even once
@@PopsiccDesigns True...but replacing the fuel filter is fairly easy (it's under the starboard side rear seat, accessible via an access cover) and a DIY preventative maintenance step for a car that may be pushing 15+ years of age.
Just replaced the high pressure fuel pump and the car is just starting fine again but the check engine light is still coming up. Fuel is slightly drippng out the high pressure line. Could this be the issue?
Hello friend i scan mini 2012 s and i have those codes [00321d] temporary: Fuel tank ventilation system and purge air system, micro-leak: Leak greater than 0.5 mm.. any idea please 🙏?
What's the part numbers for the fuel lines I'm in the process of doing this job on my mini and I have the fuel pump in my cart on your website. I need these two parts to complete the repair.
My 2008 Mini Cooper S R56 does this thing where it has a rough idle when it starts up and it goes into this limp mode where there’s no power no matter how hard you step on that gas.I’ve had the high pressure fuel pump, water housing gasket, etc all changed. 1.5 years it’s been at the mechanics and recently they said it’s fixed about replacing the new oem high pressure fuel pump with a genuine one. A few days later and the exact problem again.
Have you looked at the vanos solenoid? Sometimes they can fail or get debri on them causing a lumpy idle, and an unhappy car that can put it into limp mode. Its very accessible, reasonable to replace/check/clean
Try taking a small bit of paper, like a 1/2 inch square, hold it over the head of the torx bolt, then stick the torx bit into it. The paper should help wedge the bit into the bolt head just enough so it stays on the bit when you feed it back into the HPFP mounting holes and get the threads started.
Ivan, a bad HPFP will lead to not only poor driving but also a check engine light. If you are suspecting, the best bet would be to scan the vehicle and see what it reports back!
Excellent video - as always - but was actually looking for a fuel tank sensor and pump check / replacement for an R56 - my daughter's seems to be playing up and gives inconsistent readings - any chance one is forthcoming?
Thanks for explaining your work so well in this video. Does FCPEuro sell the HPFP filled and sealed with oil or do we need to put oil in it before installing it? Also what is the diaphragm depth measurement should be for the HPFP? My HPFP measures 26mm deep so the spring is basically uncoiled and the diaphragm is pushed all the way in its depth. Does this mean it needs to be filled with oil and reassembled?
Are you able to tell me please where the 2 wires from the new h p fuel pump go?? My loom has been chopped New hh p pump fitted but 2 wires hanging I believe one should have a hot feed but what about the other??
⚠️ Would you do a fuel filter replacement for R59 Roadster, since it’s not exist it will be very useful for the entire R59 community all around the world❓

These minis are known for HPFP failures.

Very well done
Hi my ordinal pump has a mount for the bolt in a different place than whats in the video. And when i look up everything it says its a r56.
Is this the same procedure/location for non turbo?
Can you please show how to replace coolant temp sensor on a mercedes m272 engine?
Hi, I replaced the new pump, but the machine no longer turns on, is there any coding needed?
Hi, I changed HpfP, but it stays at 100/115 psi and doesnt change when I push the pedle or try to akselerate.

It’s been such a headache and I’ve spent so much money it to the point it exceeds the sunk cost fallacy and I have to have it fixed. Please help

Any ticking while driving with a bad hpfp

Interesting - we'll have to try that!

@@fcpeuro what the car is doing is that when i press gas pedal it starts to stall and the pressure goes down

Happy to help! You can find the Genuine PSA pump we used here www.fcpeuro.com/products/mini-high-pressure-fuel-pump-genuine-psa-13517588879
yall got part numbers for those fuel lines? Want to grab them for the HPFP I just bought from yall!
Whats the fuel pump in the back in the fuel tank?
Low pressure fuel pump. Mini has two
@@robertflagg2541 Oh so the delay lag in acceleration could be the one in the front. I just replaced the back.
its a 14mm on the solid pipe on certain pumps

Do you recommend HPFP from China for around $200?
⚠️ Would you do a fuel filter replacement for R59 Roadster, since it’s not exist it will be very useful for the entire R59 community all around the world❓
Most HPFPs in Mini Cooper can be fixed by just changing the thin oil in pump with some 50 or nigher viscosity oil.
MIKE-What's the name of the "Junk" HP fuel pump? Which is the one with the lifetime guarantee?
I changed the HPFP,cleared the code 2C01 ,drove 🚗 same code came back on😤😤
Hate BMW for the high pressure pump that no other car in the world needs a pump that cost more than $100 and puts out more than 50 psi!!!😡😡🤬🤬😡
😓😢
BMW Garbage.
