- Built as an all-round event's car, Charles' Mazda RX-7 has undergone serious chassis and engine changes including a Promaz Automotive bridge-port 20B rotary engine. Boost comes from a Garrett turbocharger while the engine runs on methanol fuel controlled by a MicroTech LT16 computer and LTC dash logger. Backed by a Jerico 5-speed dogbox, the clutch was suffering on the dyno as the Promaz team got the car ready for Performance Car Mania. [ www.promaz.com.au ]

My brother ownes the car and the noise is from the flywheel , it's been lightened so much that the noise your hearing is air passing threw the flywheel at high rpms creating that random harmonic sound . But when your in the car you can not THING except your ears BLEEDING. Lol the car is a lot of fun though and turns every head wherever it goes ! Cheers

At 0:21 if you toward the bottom right had side of the alternator. You can see some electrical arching.
I think those are flames from the exhaust
+Wildcat the exhaust headers are at the top left of the block, look at the belt driving the shaft to the right , don't think having flames in the bay like that would be efficient or safe

I really love RX-7s. I love Japanese rally most but the RX-7 has always have a special place in my heart. Its the Evos, GT-R and RX-7 followed very closely and then everything else.

well done, but on that pipe from the intercooler, should have been a flex part... you have combined solid and rubber mounted parts. the problem show at the beginning of the video, will result in failing seal on that pipe connection, losing some turbo boost

Really confused as to how they expect to vent that V-Mount intercooler design without a set of hood louvers. Is heatsoak a problem on this setup?
+RGHTBrainDesign you don't need to vent it, they v mount because it follows a natural flow path. front of v air is going up there.

Rear wheels so far tucked in you can cover the wells.
why are the tires sunk in the back like that?
notice the fat drag tires on the dyno first? those are fitting better. the others are normal street wheels/tyres. They probably have done some work to fit extra wide drag tires and therefore it looks odd with the normal street tires.
What was that right above the alternator at 1:12 ?

You'll need a lot of room in the engine bay for that. That's a long ass engine.
