I love dramas when neither ML and FL are not dumbed down for the sake of moving the plot. Characters can be innocent in the beginning, but there should be character/relationship growth. Also, it is a great drama when ML and FL have a healthy relationship and do not have continuous stupid miscommunication.
I love this woman's acting. She's amazing. She's very underrated. On a side note: Esther Yu is the real one for standing up for her despite the possibility of damaging her career by doing so. That's the kind of friend you need in your life. I'm happy Meng Ziyi has someone like Esther standing by her side.

However, there is never any mention or suggestion of her being a love interest for WWX,(he’s too obvious to notice anyway). She’s too busy just keeping her family alive and doesn’t have time for affairs of the heart. Furthermore, she’s too politically astute to get involved with anyone knowing that it would most likely get them both killed. Jiang Cheng did give her a comb as a courting gift but she returned it, meaning she turned him down.

I agree that she was bullied unjustly for her role in the Untamed. However, I would also like to add that it was not just unfounded rumours that her character had a love hint with Wei Wu Xian, a short clip of a kiss scene went viral during the filming. The Chinese culture has always been conservative about LGBT so it’s understandable that producers needed to find ways so that the drama can be aired. Many dramas before the Untamed have totally switched to BG or at least cut out all LGBT love hint. The backlash from that leaked kiss scene was so big that the Untamed producers totally scrapped the BG option. And what Meng Ziyi denied was about asking for extra scene Herself. Of course, as an actress, she only acted as the script said, that was not her fault. But to translate that she said ‘There were no love hints at all’ would be incorrect.

Back to Meng Ziyi, when I saw her pairing with Li Yunrui I was impressed again with her presence, plus it is high time for Li to hold main lead. Like everyone else, Blossom surprised and amazed me. and from there I followed Meng Ziyi to Legends of Heroes. SHE IS STUNNING! She's my 2nd fav FL after Peng Xiaoran. Her role was very limited in there, and it didn't affect the chemistry or relationship between the two male leads at all. So, people need to stop hating on her. She played her role pretty well in the Untamed.
In untamed, most of the characters are male and the female characters are the elder sister, the doctor and the sect girl who supported wei Ying. Out of these three, wen qing stands out a lot that I followed all her dramas after that. Her character is strong. She can fight, she can treat. She protected her brother. Even though they brought troubles to her door, she didn't leave them. When the things were out of hand, she decided to end her whole sect future just to save wei Ying.

She has a typical chinese feature which doesn't stand out that much. First time watching her in Blossom but I can say for sure she is a good actress. For someone like her, it may take longer for people to recognize her talent. With breakthrough projects, people are going to remember her for her roles and acting. Not just her image. Actually, I the hate was more from novel fans , because Meng (Ziyi) Zoey's character in the novel and even the donghua (animation), Wen Qing appears briefly abd did not have big role. Mo Dao Zu Shi (novel/donghyua) fans was upset that in live action Wen Qing (MZ character) was given more screen time. The fans were afraid that the original story was changed and that the focus will not be Wei Ying and Lan Zhan like the other adaptions. Some accused her Meng Zoey that she knows one of the producers and that she requested for her character Wen Qing to have a bigger role. It was sad that she got attacked during the broadcast of The Untamed. It is good that she had friend with her for support, because cyberbullying can be traumatic. The hate did not continue as MZ's character Wen Qing only lasted when flashback ended. Fans were satisfied that when Wei Ying was resurrected 16 years later, he reunited with Lan Zhan in present time. Actually after the Untamed, Zoey Meng was the FL in Legend of the Two Sisters in chaos, in which Wang Zhoucheng (Jiang Cheng in the Untamed) was the 2ML paired with 2FL. Zoey Meng was also in Heroes drama, which is an awesome Wuxia drama that starred Li Hongyi, Joseph Zheng, Lui Yuning, and Baron Chen. MZ's character in that drama is paired with Baron Chen's character. She was also in the Immortal Samsara drama portaying FL's sister. Then there is Royal Rumours, a romcom drama where she is a FL and I actually love that drama because it has a happy ending. Meng Zoey's latest drama is Blossom drama with Li Yun Rui (2ML in dramas Love the like the Galaxy and The Last Immortal). Both Meng Ziyi and Li Yun Rui are wonderful actors and definitely have the skills in which both are getting the recognization they deserve from their current drama. Even though actors have great acting skills and screne presence, but it also depends if the story,direction, and cast chemistry for the drama to be successful. There are a lot of outstanding Chinese actors and actress and each has their time to shine. Even though Meng Ziyi may regret playing Wen Qing in The Untamed, her the role in that dramas, will be the one I remember the most. Not only her, but most of The Untamed drama characters (the cast that played important roles) I actually remember their names and faces. That I instantly can recognized them in other dramas as well, even if they only play support roles. I am actually happy to see them in other dramas.

the untamed was the first drama where I saw zeyi and fallen in love with her personality and her acting. These people are just jealous as they might not have the skills of acting and she is so beautiful. So a request to these people try acting yourself first then judge other actors. I agree that she was bullied unjustly for her role in the Untamed. However, I would also like to add that it was not just unfounded rumours that her character had a love hint with Wei Wu Xian, a short clip of a kiss scene went viral during the filming. The Chinese culture has always been conservative about LGBT so it’s understandable that producers needed to find ways so that the drama can be aired. Many dramas before the Untamed have totally switched to BG or at least cut out all LGBT love hint. The backlash from that leaked kiss scene was so big that the Untamed producers totally scrapped the BG option. And what Meng Ziyi denied was about asking for extra scene Herself. Of course, as an actress, she only acted as the script said, that was not her fault. But to translate that she said ‘There were no love hints at all’ would be incorrect.
She is beautiful and talented. I never noticed her until Blossom. I didn't watch The Untamed as BL is not my cuppa. My first impression of her was "Wow! what a beauty yes I approved! LOL!" when I was checking out The Princess's Gambit page, because Liu Xueyi is one my fav actor so I watched and followed the progress of his dramas. Back to Meng Ziyi, when I saw her pairing with Li Yunrui I was impressed again with her presence, plus it is high time for Li to hold main lead. Like everyone else, Blossom surprised and amazed me. and from there I followed Meng Ziyi to Legends of Heroes. SHE IS STUNNING! She's my 2nd fav FL after Peng Xiaoran. They both have exotic beauty and talent, not common. Wishing Meng Ziyi the best!!!

....I'm a fan of the Untamed. Loved the two male leads in there! Ziyi was such a beauty in that drama. Her role was very limited in there, and it didn't affect the chemistry or relationship between the two male leads at all. So, people need to stop hating on her. She played her role pretty well in the Untamed.

In untamed, most of the characters are male and the female characters are the elder sister, the doctor and the sect girl who supported wei Ying. Out of these three, wen qing stands out a lot that I followed all her dramas after that. Her character is strong. She can fight, she can treat. She protected her brother. Even though they brought troubles to her door, she didn't leave them.
When the things were out of hand, she decided to end her whole sect future just to save wei Ying.

The first time I saw Meng Ziyi was when I watched the drama Ever Night. She played the role of a homewrecker, Ye Hongyu. Although in that drama her role was a bit annoying because she played the homewrecker, but when I saw her again in The Untamed, my impression of her was not as bad as before. don't know about local netizens but for international fans of the Untamed , meng ziyi's character was so powerful and interesting . And it was clear there were no love triangles in the series. And if people were upset about it not being a BL they should be criticizing the government and the critic instead of actors .

She is one of my fave female actors. So amazing . I hate how far exsp. asian fans going into theire dislike and hate against male and female actors and the roles the played. One of my fave male actors was verbal attacked on his weibo and Douyin for playing again a role who is the enemy of Cheng Yis role..there where people calling to boykott him, ir sending him deathwishes....and I think for her it was much more harder, because there was this rumor she might be the Loveinterest in The untamed . I hope so much she will get much more good leading roles in futur
She has a typical chinese feature which doesn't stand out that much. First time watching her in Blossom but I can say for sure she is a good actress. For someone like her, it may take longer for people to recognize her talent. With breakthrough projects, people are going to remember her for her roles and acting. Not just her image. Imo most legendary actors and actresses will start like this.
But Her character in TU was meant to be involved in romance. There are leaks proving that the original script was her and xz as pair.

Actually, I the hate was more from novel fans , because Meng (Ziyi) Zoey's character in the novel and even the donghua (animation), Wen Qing appears briefly abd did not have big role. Mo Dao Zu Shi (novel/donghyua) fans was upset that in live action Wen Qing (MZ character) was given more screen time. The fans were afraid that the original story was changed and that the focus will not be Wei Ying and Lan Zhan like the other adaptions. Some accused her Meng Zoey that she knows one of the producers and that she requested for her character Wen Qing to have a bigger role. It was sad that she got attacked during the broadcast of The Untamed. It is good that she had friend with her for support, because cyberbullying can be traumatic.
The hate did not continue as MZ's character Wen Qing only lasted when flashback ended. Fans were satisfied that when Wei Ying was resurrected 16 years later, he reunited with Lan Zhan in present time.
Actually after the Untamed, Zoey Meng was the FL in Legend of the Two Sisters in chaos, in which Wang Zhoucheng (Jiang Cheng in the Untamed) was the 2ML paired with 2FL. Zoey Meng was also in Heroes drama, which is an awesome Wuxia drama that starred Li Hongyi, Joseph Zheng, Lui Yuning, and Baron Chen. MZ's character in that drama is paired with Baron Chen's character. She was also in the Immortal Samsara drama portaying FL's sister. Then there is Royal Rumours, a romcom drama where she is a FL and I actually love that drama because it has a happy ending. Meng Zoey's latest drama is Blossom drama with Li Yun Rui (2ML in dramas Love the like the Galaxy and The Last Immortal). Both Meng Ziyi and Li Yun Rui are wonderful actors and definitely have the skills in which both are getting the recognization they deserve from their current drama. Even though actors have great acting skills and screne presence, but it also depends if the story,direction, and cast chemistry for the drama to be successful. There are a lot of outstanding Chinese actors and actress and each has their time to shine.
Even though Meng Ziyi may regret playing Wen Qing in The Untamed, her the role in that dramas, will be the one I remember the most. Not only her, but most of The Untamed drama characters (the cast that played important roles) I actually remember their names and faces. That I instantly can recognized them in other dramas as well, even if they only play support roles. I am actually happy to see them in other dramas.
